Economical tea set!
Itamama (何文田廣場)
2019-08-15
Ordered a smoked salmon croissant with fries tea set. It’s actually pretty filling so it might be good enough for lunch for ladies (if you’re still hungry, you can add two wings for $8 only!)😂 The croissant was a bit too soft but I think it’s tasty with the smoked salmon and caesar salad dressing inside. The fries were crunchy but not too oily. So overall speaking, it’s a really good tea time!…Read More

Ordered a Wellington beef and a crab meat spaghetti and they were both very good! The beef‘s super juicy and tender and the gravy‘s tasty. I also liked the garlicky spaghetti though it’s not particularly special. The fries were also very crunchy and savoury. I absolutely loved them! However there’s room for improvement in terms of their service. The waiters were friendly and fast but they kept on asking if we needed water... Kinda annoying you know... 😅…Read More

Smuki

Bought two custard sticks (green tea and original) because they really smell so good even from a far distance. The outer layer’s quite crunchy with some cookie bits and the filling inside is very creamy. However, I think it’s too sweet even for a sweet tooth like me. Also, the green tea one was kind of disappointing because I couldn’t taste any green tea flavour. Probably won’t buy again cuz it’s not much of a delicacy. Maybe my expectations were a little too high :/…Read More

Chinese delicacy at a reasonable price 😆
Kong Fu Zi (Club East)

Came here for a birthday celebration and the food was surprisingly good! The thick-cut chaxiao was sweet and fatty and the fried shrimp balls were so crunchy with good sweet and sour sauce. We also ordered Sichuan style fish and sea cucumber. They were both very delicious. The Napoleon cake was not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely the biggest and the dry ice made it look so cool!Highlight of the night - abalone!! The cold abalone was served in a bowl where the waiters could make bubbles on the surface (see photo). This made the dining experience more than just food - it’s visual enjoyment!…Read More

Economical and efficient sushi
元気寿司
2019-08-11
Usually when I’m alone and have a sudden craving for sushi, I go to the nearest Genki. As always, its quality’s good with a wide range of options. I always get $10/piece raw fish or oyster sushi because they r fresh and filling, but this time, some of them didn’t look very nice (see photos). I also ordered a ramen and I think it’s good, just a little too small. By the way, I really like the ordering system and the shinkansen delivery system. It adds fun to Japanese food …Read More

A little overpriced but okay
Café Crêpe (威靈頓街)
2019-08-10
Booked a table for 1030pm but arrived early. Luckily there was an empty table so we didn’t have to wait. We ordered two crêpes - one chocolate with rum, the other original with chocolate ice-cream. We waited for a while for them to come so I suppose they were freshly made. 👍🏻 The crêpe wasn’t too sweet and the chocolate were crunchy with the taste of rum (not very alcoholic though). I would say it’s tasty but a little overpriced.…Read More

Decent but not as good as expected 😣
kikusan
2019-08-09
I arrived at around 840pm and there was still a queue, but I booked a table in advance, so it was okay. We ordered their signature dishes - Kikusan rolls and pork xiaolongbao, and they were pretty good. As a sea urchin and tuna lover, I had high expectation on the rolls but they were just so-so in my opinion. The pork xiaolongbaos were supposedly good I think, but because I didn’t know how to pick them up with chopsticks, the soup all leaked out 😭 Overall, it’s a decent restaurant with food okay for its price. I might try some other signature dishes next time though.…Read More

Dona Restaurant

Bumped into this restaurant with my friend. We ordered a light tea set with French toast, sweet potato cheese balls and cakes. Personally think that the French toast wasn’t French toast at all but it tasted quite good so it’s okay 👌🏻 The cheese inside was melting and tasted good even I don’t think it’s sweet potato🍠 outside. The cakes were a bit too sweet for me but I think they were still okay. And I really liked the quiet ambience of this restaurant!…Read More

Zenon Café
2019-07-13
Booked a table for breakfast (with 50% discount originally) but the waitress didn’t remind me that I had to return the table in 45 minutes so I couldn’t use the discount... I know I should have read the terms more carefully myself but she could have talked to me more nicely as well 😇Move on to the food, I think the regular reuben tasted really good. The beef was thick and the dressing inside was really good as well. But I think too much salad dressing was added to the salad, so this breakfast’s not quite unhealthy...…Read More

Slightly overpriced hotpot
On-Yasai (Festival Walk)
2019-07-11
Had dinner with a friend here and we kinda regretted... The service and ambience of this restaurant is good. We used their ipad for ordering though sometimes it couldn’t work well... I think the beef was really good but five thin slices just didn’t worth $98... Other stuff like veggies and konjac noodles were alright but were also overpriced in my opinion...The Mexican sausage tasted good for me but was a little too spicy for my friend. Overall speaking, I would not recommend this as I don’t think hotpot is meant to be very fancy (though this meal was technically not fancy)... Anyway we spent almost $300 per person but we’re still not full, so I probably won’t come again...…Read More

Was amazed by the high quality and wide variety of food here! You can find most types of cuisines here, including Western, Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian, etc.I personally think that the Western food here was the best because there’re unlimited refills of foie gras, fresh oysters and lobsters. The foie gras was so buttery and oysters and lobsters were big and fresh. Some other dishes also caught my attention, like stuffed crab, deep-fried milk (a Chinese dish), steamed fish, hamachi and scallop sashimi, etc. Most dishes were of very high quality and the supply was UNLIMITED!I was in a love-hate relationship with the dessert bar because every dessert was so tempting but I was too full to try all. Among those I’ve tried, I would recommend opera cake, cheese cake (with mixed fruits on top), green tea mousse and black sugar earl grey mousse. The tea flavour was really strong and the mousse was not too sweet. 👍🏻 I wish I had the chance to try more flavours of ice-cream... The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and helpful as well, so I think the high price point could be justified.…Read More

Quality Japanese cuisine👍🏻
sen-ryo (Festival Walk)
2019-07-05
Been a fan of Senryo for years because of their quality sushi. This time we tried more cooked food and it’s also great! I think the oyster stew, beef tofu pot, salmon joint and ox tongue (in miso) tasted really Japanese. 🇯🇵 Of the raw foods, I particularly like the trio sashimi roll. It’s served with vinaigrette and I think it’s healthy as well as tasty. Other sushis were of course also very tasty and fresh. The sea urchin handroll was really tasty but the portion of sea urchin was too little, so I think it’s a bit expensive for its size. I think the deep fried soft shell crab was also good but too small as well. 🙁 I had a high expectation on the wagyu foie gras sushi but I think the foie gras was too small that I couldn’t tell the buttery taste. So yea you can’t get quality and quantity at the same time. 🙃 About the service, the waiters were quick and friendly as always. So overall, Senryo is still one of my most recommended Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong! …Read More

A socially responsible restaurant 👍🏻💯
Sowergift Kitchen

My friend recommended this restaurant because it hires hearing-impaired waiters. I think it’s really good that job opportunities are provided to them while we common people can recognise their ability to work and serve as well. Though the waiters can’t hear nor speak, they understand our orders and the service’s really good. I did not have high expectations on the food originally but it definitely surprised me. The garlic bread was really good though it could be more crunchy. It’s good with the soup too.The grilled Australian rib eye steak (medium) was very big and juicy. We also ordered truffled chicken wings and baked oysters with cheese. The oysters weren’t big but the truffle and cheese smelt great!Overall I think that the food was totally worth the price and this meal was fantastic!…Read More

Supreme Manya Japanese Restaurant

This is my second time coming for this all-you-can-eat lunch. I still think that the cooked food here is way more impressive than the sashimi and sushi. I love the grilled food like ox tongue, shrimp and rack of lamb. They’re juicy and well marinated. I also recommend sesame chicken wings because it’s crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside. Grilled pineapple’s nice too! About the raw food, nothing really impressed me but if you’re a fan of sushi and sashimi you’d probably like its wide variety. Last time I came there were more ice-cream options but this time only red bean Dreyer’s was offered. The other desserts at the dessert bar weren’t particularly good either. However, considering its low price point (I bought e-vouchers here), I think this is still worth a try.…Read More

Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill (又一城)
2019-07-03
Had lunch with some friends here today. We had a complimentary Parma ham & Cheese Platter, a rib eye (14oz), Truffled Mushroom Pizza and a Green Goddess Salad (full). I think the rib eye is a little bit more than medium and a little less than 14oz but it’s still quite good. The fries were nice too. The truffled mushroom pizza was smaller than I expected but the truffle smelt really good. The salad didn’t look like a full size one but I think it’s very fresh with tasty dressings. By the way, the complimentary muffins and ham & cheese platter were better than expected. 🤣…Read More
