Nice Catch-up Place
Lobster Central
2016-02-03
We arrived here around 7:30pm just in time to make our order as the restaurant closes at 8pm. We ordered the high roller set which includes a lobster roll, a shrimp roll, a crab roll, 4pcs of crab claw, 2 packs of chips and 3 drinks. It's just right to be shared by 3 and you can request the rolls to be cut in half so as to try the different flavors ;)It's relatively cheap for lobster rolls compared with the other restaurants in HK that sell lobster rolls. The lobster meat is quite fresh but I wish the bread could be toasted warmer and crispier. Look at the spilling crab meat there mmmmm. The shrimp roll is soso compared to the other two flavors. The crab claws taste buttery but nothing else, which is kinda disappointing. I like the interior design there which gives a nice ambience for friends' catch-up. But is 8pm too early as closing time for a restaurant like this in Central? …Read More

Common Ground
2015-11-19
Common Ground is having a collab with unun living until 30/11, and I finally paid a visit today (after having Common Ground resting on my to-go list for quite a while) to bring my bestie to see the cute Luna lamps Great food and ambience!I'm gonna show you the moon lamps first~Sitting on each table *v* Different sizes can be found around the cafe too! It's really adorable I wanna get one as well lolOrdered the Better Moon set (Cheese and Egg Omelette, mushrooms, cheese, guacamole, bacons, onions, tomatoes. $98)The omelette was bombhearty set, the whole setup just made me so happy... and I finished it all even though it was 3pm already lolFriend's opera cake (forgot the exact price but I was $4x-$5x)Didn't expect the banana taste would be so strong! Love it how it wasn't so sweetA nice choice for tea (;Relaxing environment in general with good food!…Read More

Maybe the lunch sets would be better...
Skewed
2015-11-16
We came here last Friday before the movie for some skewers, rather disappointing I'd say. Didn't take pics of everything we had since we were let down by the first few skewers alreadyIntercostals ($38)If it wasn't soo salty and oily it would turn out fine. A little too fat for me which was also a turndown Grilled Pork Neck ($48)This one was too dry, with the sour sauce they served... Sorry but I guess this is by far the worst pork neck I've triedChicken Wings ($22)Again, they were over-seasoned...too salty so I didn't like itSmores ($48)It can't go wrong lol my fav of the nightFor the price and quality we probably wouldn't pay another visit, but the udon lunch sets look appealing so I might come back during lunch time?…Read More

Nice lunch
A Plate
2015-11-14
I'm glad to have some glutton besties who'd always be willing to pig out with me We planned to shop a bit around TST so we paid A Plate a visit (former Our Wonderland)We didn't order the lunch sets and picked some from the a la carte menu. Were starving so ordered a bit more than the portion for two Pork Ribs (half for $128,$188 for the whole portion)Guess it's fair for 2 girls to order half lolAnyway my friend picked this place basically for this pork ribsThe sauce was of nothing special, was expecting a stronger and more savoury sauce as it was named " grilled in Korean style", it didn't disappoint us though! Pretty meaty and "soft" so we both enjoyed it Squid Ink Linguine with White Wine Garlic Sauce ($138)White wine sauce is always bombbb and so was this squid ink linguine! Plentiful seafood as well~Rose Chocolate ($35/$38 hot or cold)The mellow rose smell went so well with the chocolate! Great drink 👍🏻…Read More

Fun "hammering"
119 Plus
2015-11-14
Pei Foodies love exploring new restaurants and Peilei decided to try this Korean resto out for lunch with a friend yesterday (;There was no queue at that time (at 1pm) so we got seated right awayOrdered a Hammer set and a lunch setHammer Mad and Cheese ($108)Saw the Hammer dishes and was pretty curious on what's so special about it, turned out it was more like just a gimmick lolI actually ordered the angel hair instead of this, but it was cooked so I just felt like it'd be a waste to tell the waiter to change it for me since they're most possibly gonna dump it right away... perks of having a minor in social entrepreneurship  It tasted pretty good though! Thick creamy sauce on the penne was filling but I finished it all anyway The Pork set ($68) Can't quite remember the name but anyway this was one of the lunch sets.Friend had this and I tried some of the pork. It was a bit overcooked, but the rice rolls were good 👍🏻I'd say this place is a nice choice in Sheung Wan but I wouldn't come all the way again 😬…Read More

Comfort food!
Espuma (QRE Plaza)
2015-11-13
Woke up late, hungry, decided to grab some good food and Espuma came to my mind as I've always wanted to try the waffles thereIt was 3ish when I arrived with a friend and got seated right away. To my surprise there was literally no one (am I the only lazy foodie who'd spend so much time sleeping during day off lol)We ordered 2 mains and 1 dessert (of course I would!)Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Prawn ($88)This was reallyyy yum. Gotta be the olive oil blending with the garlicThere were 4/5 pieces of ghorizo and 2 prawnsI'd totally recommend this!Mañana ($108)I didn't expect much from an all day breakfast here at first but hey it was good tooThe portabello was the highlight I'd say lol Bacons were a bit too salty, but in general this was fineJapon n Creme ($88)I basically came here for the moffles so I had to order one even though I know I'd be full already from savouring the mains...Glad that I tried this so I don't have to wait for the next timeIt was really chewy and I gotta admit that it was better than I expectedThe mochi texture just brought the waffle experience to another level. I think I have tried a moffle somewhere else but Espuma is probably best at itNo wonder people loved the waffles here!Enjoyed my late lunch here and there were just soo many other delicacies I wanted to try, like the Jamon and Spinach Tortilla, and the Fettuccini in truffle sauce *v*Definitely coming back for the other 2 moffles and other delicacies!…Read More

Nice ambience
Hungry Elephant
2015-11-08
The restaurant is near my workplace so I decided to pay a visit to this nicely decorated place during lunchtime. The lunchsets are more like Western than Thai fusion. My friend and I each ordered penne with smoked salmon in lobster sauce. The ambience is really nice and it seems to be a good place for coffee and casual chatting, so we had rather high expectation for the food. But it left us disappointed when the food came. It looked rather different from what we expected. The sauce tasted a bit overcooked and tasted nothing like lobster. Overall speaking, it was kinda overpriced. I hope the coffee here is more up to standard.…Read More

Craving for Fishball Noodles!
On Lee Noodle
2015-11-07
Went for a hike to Cape D'Aguilar over the weekend and was so tired and hungry after. So why not have a bowl of fishball noodles at this famous restaurant in Shau Kei Wan?There were many people but we managed to get our seats after waiting for 10min. I ordered a bowl of fishball noodles (of course!) and my friend ordered a bowl of beef brisket noodles. We shared the toast with butter and condense milk (鮮油奶多) as well. The fishballs were bouncy as always and the beef briskets were very flavorful! To my surprise, the warm and crispy toasts were so good with generous thick slices of butter and the amount of condense milk was just right as it added flavor to the toasts but it wouldn't be overly sweet. One thing I must warn you is the drinks here are quite expensive tho. $17 for an iced lemon tea!…Read More

Chilled Friday Night
Pop it
2015-11-07
Have been craving for lobster rolls ever since I visited the Island East Market in TaiKoo last year! And I've had Pop It in my list for so long already so I decided to pay a visit last night. It was surprisingly empty on a Friday night so we found a chilled spot once we arrived. My friend and I each ordered a Lobster Attack, which was served together with coleslaw and fries (+$10 to change to truffle fries!) The buttered roll was stuffed with lots of lobsters, I mean, LOTS. I love the bouncy lobster texture but it was rather tasteless and I wish the roll could be warmer and crispier. The fries were okay but the truffle taste could be stronger! The service was good. We didn't order any drinks but the waiters kept refilling water for us. Overall, it satisfied my crave for lobster rolls but I hope they can improve the quality since there're not many places in hk which serve lobster rolls.…Read More
