surprisingly good!
Zanzo
2013-03-23
I need to write this just to give this place a fair comment. The shop itself is nicely decorated and rather cosy (i.e. small). Yet, the food were surprisingly fresh and delicious, unlike what the most recent comments mentioned. The photos taken with my poor phone were not great, but the food we tried were all very nice. We had the squid ink tempura, beef salad, chicken skewers, lamb rack, tofu, and lots more. I would say you must try the lamb rack and the scallops. Absolute heaven.…Read More

The French Window
2011-03-05
The decoration was very elegant and very french indeed. Very spacious and lots of pretty flowers everywhere. You already feel very romantic once you walk inside. We booked early and we got the sofa seat. They had the a la carte menu and two special menu which included lots of food. I was not feeling too well and so I ordered the a la carte instead. But first, we started with the very warm and fresh bread. Then we were offered these little starters and I cannot remember what they were, except the middle one, which was a warm ginger soup kind of thing, which I did not like.My apetizer was asparagus, which was cold (not sure if it was meant to be), but still very well done and yummy. My main course was the Zita pasta with black truffles, covered with some foam which I forgot what it was. It was alright, very filling and I could not finish it. …Read More

Peace Square
2011-02-27
I drove passed this place many times and I thought it was a cake shop, until I heard they have all day breakfast.Arrived at 10:30 am on a Sunday and there were still seats left. The empty seats were soon taken within 5 minutes. The price seems cheap. The all-day breakfast was only $60. I had toast plus sunny side ups plus sausages. It was acceptable. I would not say it was bad, but it was not good either. Everything was already cold when it came out. I wondered why... and how? The food came pretty quickly once I ordered, so it must have been freshly made, how could it be cold?? Unless it was pre-prepared.....The coffee was alright.…Read More

a very interesting design cafe
R&C Design Cafe
2011-02-27
I saw this cafe when I was sitting on a bus that drove passed. It looked interested. Design Library.Came up on a saturday afternoon and it looked interesting. It looked more like a home office which I would love to be in. The so-called cafe only offered coffee and tea, and there were only a few sofas available. The rest contained a large work desk which I would love to have at home. Lots of magazines and photography books available for sale. Plus, there were also clothing. The coffee itself was acceptable. If the owner really wants this place to last, they could start with the coffee.…Read More

Xenri No Tsuki Japanese Cuisine
2011-01-29
Whilst we were waiting, we had a tomato salad Then, the real dinner started. First came this fish whose name I forgot, but it was really fresh and chewy. We were given different sauces to eat with, very sophisticated. Next came another fish that was cut up in a chunk as opposed to the first one that was in slicesand sushi (and I need to say the egg was meticulously done)and veggies tempura We actually ate even more, but my phone's poor camera can hardly show you how delicious the food was.Last, we had this sticky and chewy dessert, which I think, was the only dish that was ordinary. …Read More

Tonkin Vietnamese Restaurant
2010-12-16
i was disappointed. there are many vietnamese restaurants in hk and many of them serve good raw beef noodles that are authentic. The noodles here were ordinary, just like any typical chinese style noodles. and, the bowl was too small to fit in the noodles and the very raw beef!…Read More

Brasserie Le Fauchon & Wine Bar
2010-12-14
The restaurant is on a rooftop and it is now the perfect time to eat outdoor.I ordered the soup of the day, which was a little bit blend. My friend had the escargots which were apparently very good. The came the main course and we both had the risotto with seafood, which was good.Desserts for me was again, a little bit disappointed. I had the pavlova with mixed berries, and the egg white came in a very hard cone with almost frozen mixed berries.... But for my friend who had the chocolate pudding, it was apparently very good again!…Read More

HABITŪ caffè
2010-11-30
This cafe was located in the middle of a shopping mall. The other Habitu I've been to have hot dishes, but not this one. Therefore, I only had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was minced chicken. It wasn't that good. As for the caffe latte, it was rather big and it was already the smallest size they have. …Read More

Naha

People say you must book this place for lunch.... so we did.The sushi rice was good, but I think it's rather expensive because the bowl of rice was not big. However, you could get even better sushi rice at this price in Central...... Oh well, this is Tai Koo.....…Read More

The Peak Lookout
2010-11-21
I used to love the Peak Cafe. Ever since it became the Peak Lookout, the quality of food keeps on lowering. It's probably over 2 years since I last came here. It turns out, the quality has gone down even further! How much further down can it get?? Not only the food quality was bad, the service was even worse! I ordered an iced lemon tea and they gave me the tea without the lemon! Here's the rest of the disappointing food...…Read More

Sushi Shin Japanese Restaurant

The Quarterdeck Kowloon
2010-11-09
I have always liked Quarterdeck. The one on the HK side has a much better view than the one in Kowloon side though.I had a caffe latte, which was alright. We shared a salad, which was alright too. Then came the wonderful burger. The egg on top made it an absolute heaven. It was huge though. Lucky I shared it.…Read More

THE CHINNERY

If you come here for lunch, you need to come early. We arrived at 12:30 pm and we got the last table.I had my all time favourite - fish & chips, which is one of the very rare good fish & chips in HKBut I think I had too much oily stuff, so I had to cleanse it off with my Earl Grey tea. …Read More
