shoping in ocean city always ends up with buying from Panash bakery but some how the bread and level of  staff service leaves you wondering why at all come back? It was a very busy saturday afternoon in the mall but the  take out area of the bakery was empty. the bread containers were all open so you can imagine small bugs flying around being attracted by the smell of bread. Panash used to be one of the best bakeries in all Hong Kong but that was then. I bought a cheese loaf but it was dry and tasteless. I have been coming to this restaurant for ages. the joint serves straight forward Hong Kong style BBQ toprice and then some. Prices have remained reasonable up to today and you can expect meals for about 40-50HKD.during this vacation I came around 11am because  I just had to have my roasted goose fix. The place had a couple of customers but i sat where I pleased. I ordered roasted goose, white chicken and BBQ pork and a cup of rice. The goose as usual was amazing, juicy and tasty at the same time. i also added the plum sauce they gave me which made it more tasty. The white chicken on the other hand was also spectacular. the chicken was cooked just right with no trace of blood unlike other BBQ roasting restaurants. The special BBQ pork cut was also juicy with a little fat which is exactly what you get in other more expensive restos. total damage for this trip 120hkd, for me totally reasonable. I also asked for their "cong you" sauce which is fresh green chives in oil which is bit salty. the sauce is a perfect combination to the white chicken and also to a generous helping of rice.the only strange thing I find in this place is they ask complete strangers to sit with you when the places starts to get full during lunch and dinner rush hours. I saw office workers, Asian and western tourists and construction  workers frequent the place.I remember staying in Hong Kong for about 5days and I had breakfast, lunch or dinner (just one visit a day ) for 5 straight days here. The variety in this establishment is simply amazing. A good example of a hong kong cha chaan teng or hong kong style cafe/ diner for breakfast i had milk coffee, ham, bread and eggs. Seating might be a little bit tight but this is how Cantonese meat roasting should taste like. I ordered the roast pork and roast goose top rice meals and wow they really take you back to how good simple food should taste like. Great hole in the wall restaurant. Cheers! …Read More
