This hotpot place has moved from Sai Wan hill street to shau kei wan and now back to Sai Wan, and I have been to all of them multiple times. Their soup base is what brings me back all the time. For spicy mala soup, other than chili and other spices, it has bean sprouts, frozen tofu and pig blood curd. Instead of just being spicy, it has other flavors that make the soup have more depth/be more tasty. The other soup that’s good is scallop and winter melon soup- can be had separately as it’s not full of powder taste like many other soup in hk are. Now for food items, beef is very good for the price- fresh and well marbled, portion isn’t bad either. Deep fried doughnut with shrimp paste is made to order and is good by itself even without putting in to hotpot. If you like selecting your own sushi form turntable, I think this one may just be the best one in HK. I came here with a friend as we were craving some sushi. The place seemed busy as usual, but it took us less than 5 mins to get a seat. We tried many different types and although I like regular sushi, I found deep fried prawn roll to be the best. Not only is the shrimp crispy, but the rice and other toppings all went well together. And their egg custard is really good, def. made when ordered. I also liked the free serve ginger lol. It seems as HK people book for buffet meals in weeks, maybe months in advance. However, I called on that day and luckily they had an additional table to last min cancellations! Even you made a booking, you have to line up when going in lol. The place is quite big and round- but the part I should mention is that it spins. Sometimes you will be near the seafood section, sometimes near Chinese food- with the view and all, I think that’s a good idea, but I somehow felt a bit dizzy. Anyway, food! The place serves one juice which was a good refreshing start. Its cold section has usual sashimi and seafood. My favorites were crab and oysters, they are fresh and have that sweet seafood taste in them. As for hot selection, I found their Chinese food part very good- it’s soup was good and sea cucumber dish was also nice. What’s more is foie gras with toast and apple (you can ask for just foie gras if you want). My friends booked the vip room for Jan. birthday celebration.. and I’m glad she did as this place has lots of delicious, innovative dishes! We did order many dishes but as there were 10 of us, I didn’t get to take pics of all the food.. (guess will do so during my next visit). Maybe because we had more girls than guys, the room seemed big enough to fit more than 10. Vip room has separate door so we could enjoy our privacy (seems like our sound didn’t travel outside). Service was very good as staffs would promptly clean out the dishes, check on you, etc.Now, the food! When my friend told me she booked this place, I didn’t know what to expect as their dishes seemed different from other places. For example, their signature dish is this cloud meringue: savory kimchi fried rice is covered in meringue and it also has egg yolk in the middle. Not only was the look cute, but taste was good too. XO sauce rice cake had that HK fire taste from wok; Jajang noodle had nice seafood taste mixed with scallion oil taste. Well, all their food seemed to have some unique take on them (ie. kimchi salsa). The western dishes with were surprisingly good as well: steak, fish & chips and all day breakfast to recommend. Missing pho, especially on cold days, I went to my usual pho place in Cwb, but apparently they closed down... I looked for another place in Cwb and this one popped out. I found price to be reasonable and pho was ok. Noodles and meat were cooked right and it was good way they provided sauce, but problem was just that soup taste wasn’t good... it didn’t really have a broth taste... their rolls were quite good and fresh though. Vietnamese coffee also fine. But one thing that bothered our group a lot was the service. For such healthy food, I think this place's half wrap price is quite reasonable for Central. They said you can get a membership card, which will give 5%? discount. Around 1:30, there was no line, which was a plus for Central on weekdays. I ordered customised wrap with peppers, roasted veggies, mushrooms and tofu. They are all lightly marinated and thus, not too boring. All the ingredients are wrapped in a wrap with zataar, so the whole wrap has that saltiness and savouriness. It's just one of the best tasting healthy food around. The place is a bit hot as all the sittings are in open area, receiving the hot air from outside. They do have fans, but they don't have enough seats during lunch time anyway, so take-away maybe a good option. It's nice for them to provide self-service water. It seems as this restaurant is quite well known , so I’ve been meaning to find time to try. Today was that day.Their lunch set consists of drink and one dish (note that not all these dishes are actually crepes; it’s got soup or salad as main too). Of course being at this place, my colleague and I both wanted to go for crepes, so we ordered Marco Polo and Complete. Marco Polo is one that has Asian taste with curry chicken inside (taste here is very mild) and Complete has the usual ham and cheese. Both crepes come with a small serving of salad on the same plate. Salad was fresh and it was a nice addition to the crepes. I’ve got to know about this place from their other shop in Central near the escalator. I really like their wraps, so one day, wandering around Sheung Wan neighborhood, I decided to check it out. I hated walking up...on such a sunny day... but inside aircon was strong enough to cool me down quickly. I order coffee and da Vinci open flat. Although price is a bit higher, I think all healthy food places are on higher side. It had lots of veggies and could definitely keep me full for the whole afternoon, which meant no need for afternoon snacking! Sunny side up eggs were well done, veggies were fresh, flat was warm and it’s ingredients all blended very well with zataar. Asparagus was especially the highlight on there. As we were looking for chicken place nearby the tram, we ended up here. We really should’ve walked to find other place. We ordered spring onion chicken and chibee noodle. This place doesn’t serve water, which surprised me for sure as non-local places usually serve water. They said they don’t “have” water. Anyway, chicken was a bit cold in the middle and tasted old... I had to spit them out... sauce and spring onion had no problem. And then their signature noodle is just popular korean instant noodle with red packet and cheese. This cafe has lots of interesting healthy options, so I decided to try for one lunch. Their lunch set is a good choice if you want to have coffee anyway. So I got the salad + coffee. For salad, you just go to left side to select the one you want and pay at the counter. When you order, they will ask you whether it's for takeaway or not. For customers dining in, they will give you a number and bring you the food. I found that simple salad was taking long, but when the lady brought me the salad she told me that it took long because veggies were not fresh and they had to make a new one. Looking at the salad, she was telling me the truth and I was very surprised how much they cared about the quality. Salad was very good as the saltiness from meat and cheese along with crisp veggies and sour taste from balsamic dressing all went well together. Coffee was good for a house coffee. Just wanting to grab a breakfast style meal in the afternoon, we ended up here. I have been to another outlet for coffee, but never tried their food. As I wanted eggs, sausage etc, I opted for breakfast set. It has 2 sunny side up eggs, toast, mushrooms, ham, sausage, tomato and beans. Nothing special, but nothing done wrong either. The food here is exactly the type of food you'd want with beer, but they don't have many seats and it's more of a quick bite place. It's better to go here before or after drinking session. Everything was good, esp. banh mi sandwich. The chicken and rice cakes were crispy. Quesadilla, chicken all had enough sauce to make you thirsty haha. I had Set C. Soup had very strong cilantro taste and I didn't like it, but that could be personal preference. Lamb Masala dish was fine, but seemed to be more bland compared to usual Indian curries. Rice tasted better than their plain naan. Coke was a bit flat. What made my experience bad was seeing a manager argue with other customers. As it says Buy 6 get 1 free, a group of 7 people thought 1 would be free, but manager said he would bring 1 more, so they pay for 7 sets, but get 8 sets. After visiting auntie nearby, I was looking for quick snack option. It seemed to have a lot of people, so I walked in to try. I'm glad I did! Saw many people eating dumplings, so I ordered too. Lots of chives and very tasty dumplings noodle and shiitake mushrooms were all good. Noodle was cooked not too hard not too soft, just right. Spices were all very good.
