And this all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet prides itself as being a seaside resturant.This resturant is also very spacious so you can be assured that you will not be packed with sardines here.Instead of writing of pieces of paper to order. They give you a QR code and you can order your food straight from your phone.The selection of foods are pretty standard and you get all of basics you would want to order. Nothing better than spicy hotpot on a cold winters night.I’ve tried this hotpot resturant at their Causeway Bay before and it was really good so I decided to try its again at their new branch in Tsuen Wan.First they give you a dessert which is supposed to protect your stomach from the spice.For the hotpot sauce you’re supposed to add a lot of sesame oil with minced garlic which is perfect because those are two of my favorite condiments!We ordered good variety of hotpot ingredients all in half portions because we wanted to try everything.All of it was really high quality and fresh. I’ve eaten at Chinese private kitchen before, but this is the first time I’ve heard of a Private French Cuisine Kitchen. I thought it would be a nice experience to have. This place is a hidden gem before. Located in an old building in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui, you would never have thought there was such a nice restaurants with such good ambience.They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. We chose outdoor because the weather was quite nice that day.We ordered the 5 course tasting menu which can be pre ordered before hand on WhatsApp when you make a booking to this resturant. They’ll send you the menu, and you can decide if the dishes you want before arriving. This is so convenient as you just need to sit down and enjoy the meal once you arrive.We were first served the welcome starter which is Ciabatta with Olive Oil. They offered us a refill of this which was so nice! We didn’t take up their offer though because we knew there was a lot of delicious food to come 🤭Next came the salad to share which was a Chorizo Salad with Citron Honey Sauce. The chorizo was quite spicy but it paired well they the citrus flavours of the salad.We all got different Appetizers so that we could get a variety and share. We chose the Stew Whole South Abalone with Smoked Avruga, Pan Fried Foie Gras and Pan Fried Tuna. The abalone actually had Asian inspired flavours which was quite special. But my favorite was defiantly the Foie Gras and the tuna. They were high quality and cooked to perfection.There were two choices of soups. The Wild Mushroom with Black Truffle Soup and the Lobster Bisque. I got the truffle soup and my companions got the lobster bisque.Before the main dishes came the server brought us each a green apple sorbet. He explained that it was to cleanse our palette. I thought this was very special and such a good idea. It was refreshing for sure The main dishes that we chose were the Pan Fried Chilean Sea Bass with Saffron Fish Stock, French Confit Duck with Mixed Berry, and their signature Roast Quail Stuffed with Black Truffle Risotto.Then came the best part of every meal, the dessert. This consisted of a Creme Brûlée, a slice of Berry Cake and a Chocolate Fondant with a side of ice cream (76% Belgium Dark Chocolate) The Chocolate Fondant is a must order in my opinion. I’ve been craving for some authentic Taiwanese food ever since I came from my holiday in Taipei and I finally got to satisfy my cravings today!Started off with an appetitzer which was the assorted drunken platter with drunken chicken, pig trotter and duck tongue. Really like the taste of shao zing wine and how it brings out the natural sweetness of the ingredients. Then we got all the the typical Taiwanese foods. Of course we had to order fried chicken! I really like this because it came with a rack of different flavoured powders like seaweed, cheese, spicy, original, ume and curry. So each bite can be a different taste. My favorite was the original and seaweed flavour.Then we got the beef noodles. The soup base was slightly spicy which gives the whole dish a nice little cake and there was a lot of beef. I have been here before to try their black sugar boba pancake before when that trend was still all the hype and fell in love with their pancake then. So I knew it was only a matter of time before coming back again.The stars aligned when my friend suggested this place because she’s never been before.We ordered our drinks first.☕️ Ginseng Oolong Black Milk Tea (HKD 52)I was so surprised when I saw that they had a similar drink i had in Taiwan so of course I went for that! It’s essentially a deconstructed bubble tea drink. You pour the tea from the teapot yourself and also add the pearls in yourself.🍹 Stellar 05:02 Cocktail (HKD 75)My friend ordered an alcoholic drink. And it was such a beautiful drink! The colour was a very vibrant blue and the the coaster it same with light up. Though my friend said the alcohol was a little stronger than she expected. We ordered two appetizers to start with 🌶 One Bite Wonton w/ Chili Oil (HKD 68)Wow did these mini wontons pack a punch! They were so spicy and we were so not expecting it! 🐔 Taiwanese Style Pan Fried Basil Chicken Patties (HKD 118)Really loved these. Usually patties are pork or beef, so it’s a really refreshing take to have chicken patties. It makes them more tender and gives it an almost more delicate and clean taste. The creamy sauces really added to the flavours.And for the main dish we ordered one to share because we definitely wanted to save room for their pancake.🦐 Pan Fried Tiger Prawn Fehttuchini (HKD 168)It came with two huge prawns so it was perfect we didn’t have to fight over it. And each strand of noodle was covered in the delicious tomato sauce which was perfectly flavoured, not too sweet, not too sour.And of course the highlight of the whole meal, what we’ve been looking forward to! The dessert dish that is their amazing pancake.🍑 MTW Soufflé Pancake w/ Peach (HKD 128)We decided to get the peach flavour because it sounds like something that will go well with a pancake dish. And we were right! The tartness of the fruit really complimented the overall sweet flavours of the dish really well. Their pancake itself, think of it as a cross between a typical airy soufflé Japanese pancake and a western styled dense pancake. Because of the cooler weather lately, I thought having spicy food was the perfect combination.So we decided to head to this new resturant which serves Szechuan cuisine.I’m not usually the best at handling spice, so I was pleasantly surprised that for all of the menu you have the option on the spice level. I got mild spice for all of the dishes we ordered because I didn’t want to kill my tongue 😂One of the other surprises I had when ordering was that you place your order completely on your phone! They have a qr code for you to scan at each deck and you can order using that. The food will come to you without having any interaction with the servers there. One of the places I come to time and time again for hotpot! I usually go to their Tsim Sha Tsui Branch, but this time I was meeting my friends from the Hong Kong island side so we decided to try their causeway bay branch.For the soup base we got the abalone chicken soup which is super flavourful and delicious. They recommend you to first drink the soup by itself before putting in the hotpot ingredients.The ingredients, we got their signature seaweed heung ling. Such crispy, the seaweed inside adds an element of uniqueness and it soaks up the delicious broth so well. Also, we ordered plenty of veggies to kid ourselves that we were eating healthy. I was having some serious Taiwanese food withdrawals after coming back from my trip last week so I had to try this place out when I walked past it.Loved how it was set up like a cafeteria, step 1 pick a drink, step 2 pick two side dishes, step 3 pick your main, step 4 pick your rice.I got an oolong tea for the drink (had a choice of hot or cold), and the okra and the soft boiled egg for side dishes, and normal white rice.🐟Sweet & Sour Fish (HKD 80) -This was my choice and the portion was huuuuge! It’s my first time having this type of omakase skewers experience, it is usually omakase sushi so I thought this was very special. And for someone like me who is always having trouble deciding what to order on the menu it really is perfect for me.The people here are really knowledgeable about the ingredients that they have in the store and how to prepare it so the natural taste come out and how to pair all the flavours nicely together.After the appetizer we had a sushi platter to share which included salmon roe and uni as well as various raw fish. All really high quality and fresh ingredients! If you’re feeling fancy I hear that they have some rare species of fishes that are flown from japan daily to order.Next we got some deep fried dishes which were oysters and scallops. It’s cooked really well and the seafood retains its moisture and the oyster was really creamy just the way I like it. The sizes of these seafood items was also really huge!And then we got some hot plates, the first one was ox tongue cooked in a miso stew and the second dish was a 30 day dry aged sirloin steak. Anyone who knows me knows that I appreciate a good dry aged steak because of the strong flavour that that this technique produces.Finally we got to the skewers! I was super excited because this is one of their specialities. We got three types of chicken skewers, the chicken cartilage, chicken tail and normal chicken skewer. And then two vegetable ones, the okra and pepper skewers. As well as a bacon wrapped cherry tomato skewer. These were all juicy and flavourful, you can really taste deep flavours because it was cooked on a charcoal grill.Lastly we ended the meal with a raindrop cake as dessert. For me when I think of eating at vegetarian restaurants, I usually think of dishes that are less flavourful and use mediocre meat substitutes.However leisurely veggies really changed my mind about this! First if I knew this resturant was different when I entered because of the beautiful pastel decor. You can tell straight away that they have a modern approach to vegetarian eating.I order the dinner set which include an appetizer, soup, main course and dessert. I also decided to add an additional hand roll.The appetizer I chose was a beetroot apple walnut salad and the soup was cream of spinach. The soup was by far a standout for me! So creamy and strong in flavours, I loved it so much.For the main course u for the pumpkin risotto. I really loved how this dish tasted! The sweetness of the pumpkin really stood out.For dessert I decide to upgrade it to a chocolate vanilla honey toast for an additional $30! And it was so worth it! The portion was huge and it was delicious too.Overall, I am loving this modern take on vegetarian dishes. What’s the best thing to do on a cold winters night?? Having hotpot with your friends of course!!I really like this hotpot place because they are close to the station and in a convenient location. And they have quite a lot of options o their menu as well!They specialize in chicken pot, but because we were just two people that day we ordered a normal soup base (the tomato one) so we can have more stomach room for other hotpot ingredients.Did you know that they prepare their fried items fresh? I highly recommend their special cheese heung ling (bean curd rolls) ! It’s one of the best I’ve ever tried. The melted cheese really goes well with it!The fish skin is another of their fried item that comes out fresh and pipping hot. I like to put it in the soup base for a few second before eating.We also ordered some items like diced beef, pork jowl and fish skin dumplings.
