We went to Maxim’s Palace (Shun Tak Centre) for the first time for a Mid-Autumn Festival dinner, and honestly, it was such a disappointment. The service was from start to finish, all the waiters seemed completely inattentive. We had to keep waving for attention, and even then, no one came to help for several minutes.The dishes came out painfully slow. The Cantonese egg noodles, which we asked to be served earlier because they were for the kids, took 30 minutes to arrive! To make it worse, the staff who took our order gave us the wrong information — we were told there wouldn’t be any fuzzy melon in one dish, but it showed up full of it.We understand it was a busy festive evening, but what really shocked us was that when most of the customers had already left, and we were the only table left in the corner, the waiters just ignored us and started tidying up for the next day instead of checking on us. It felt like they just wanted us to hurry up and leave.Very disappointing experience overall. We expected much better service from Maxim’s, given their long-standing reputation.
