Started the evening with 4 pieces of Gillardeau oysters -they are very fresh and delicious. However, things went downhill pretty fast from here.We had burrata cheese with tomatoes, the burrata is not made in house. The quality is standard, pretty creamy but nothing to write home about. However, it does not justified the $180 price tag. After the starters, we were expecting the remaining 3 main courses to come. However, nothing came and we were not being attended to for well over an hour. The staff were obviously not trained professionly, they forgot to inform the kitchen so our mains remained unprepared after an hour!!! After another 25 mins, our 2 pastas finally arrived - The Red Prawn Linguine was pretty nice, the red prawns were very small and pretty much had no meat inside the shells but the linguine were al dente, the sauces were made with some black ink which was superb. We also had the gnocchi with potatoes and porcini, this one was ok, the porcini gave a very nice forest smells and the gnocchi was cooked right. But again, but portion is far too tiny for its $180 price tag.At this point, a waitress cleared our table and gave us a dessert menu...wait a minute, where is our last main course? ok, understaff and training problem again, and it costs us, the customer, another 20 min of waiting time before our Iberico pork rack arrived. The pork chop was cooked just right but it was covered with some sweet dark sauces which was far too strong and salty, it does not go with the pork at all. Also, the bone of the pork rack was wrapped with some aluminium foil ...ummm...thought I was eatng in some cheap Hong Kong local cafe, not impressive at all. Finally it came to desert time which was disastrous - we shared 3 scoops of home made sorbet and gelato and it was the worse desert I've ever had! The gelatos were already half melted when it arrived, and it was all topped with some mini pink bubble chocolate balls - it looked gross and it tastes horrible, and they are braved enough to charge $110 for it! …Read More

Operahouse
Our gelatos are homemade without preservatives and glucose (to keep the shape longer) and thus melts more quickly. It was definitely our mistake that your order was not taken care of at the first place and the gelato was not delivered to you in time.
Operahouse
Regarding the price, our food/ingredients were mostly imported from Italy/Europe, our prices are very competitive which is also welcomed by our customers.
Operahouse
Once again, we are sincerely sorry for our mistake and hope that we can have you soon in Operahouse again.
