Dining at Amber was an extraordinary experience, elevated by an exceptional tasting menu, a unique kitchen visit, and the remarkable attention to detail from the team. Each dish was a masterpiece including the sea urchin paired with lobster jelly, bursting with umami. The Foie Gras was also a surprise, it was light and fluffy with an Asian twist which made it taste almost like chinese steam egg. The other most memorable dish was the diary-free butter! The consistency and the richness was so outstanding that you wouldn’t have believed it wasn’t actual butter. We also opted for the “secret” dish which was a fun experience worth trying.The pacing was flawless, allowing us to savor every bite while the flavors lingered. The highlight of the evening was the rare opportunity to visit Amber’s kitchen, a behind the scenes glimpse into a Michelin three star operation. Witnessing the precision and teamwork this exclusive experience made the evening feel truly special.The attention to detail of the waiter/waitress was the heart of the experience. The team anticipated every need, from refilling water before it’s ever empty to explaining each dish clearly and any empty wine glasses was cleared within seconds. When they noticed a small preference, they seamlessly accommodated. For example the secret dish we only opts for 1 to share amongst the 2 or us and some courses we choose a separate dish each which they automatically served us sharing plates for us, making us feel valued and avoid any awkwardness. Amber’s price tag is steep, but the impeccable food, unforgettable kitchen visit, and outstanding service made it worth every penny. Unlike other Michelin starred restaurants which sometimes question the authenticity, with Amber you get the food, experience and service which you understand why they deserve their 3 stars. This place is super cozy, and the chef’s passion is legit—you can tell he loves what he does.Food wise the Carabinero head butter was the star; dip it with bread, and you’re in heaven. Seriously, don’t skip it.We were pumped for the steak, they give you a selection to choose and pick from with te waiters they would ask what your preference is. We asked for a dry-aged, funkier taste, but after it was cooked it came out a bit underwhelming, lacking either the funkiness we were looking for from, as well as the steak itself was very mild tasting. Bit of a bummer but the steak was cooked perfectly.This place is great for a cosy chilled dinner however as the restaurant is an open area for better ventilation, it gets a bit warm not ideal in summer. However, the ingredients used seemed of standard or slightly lower quality, resulting in flavors that fell short of expectations. 4.5 rating my recent visit left an impression, the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.We first started with the langoustine, succulent and paired with the sauce which was bursting with flavor, loved the hint if smokiness.The angel hair pasta, was light with a hint of truffle taste but personally felt needed more depth in flavor. The caviar didn’t elevate the dish much just created a slight saltiness, won’t suggest the add-on.Frog leg, crispy and garlicky was tasty and surprisingly our favorite dish tonight. I’m not usually a fan of frog legs but the combination of flavors left me wanting more. This is a must try!The roasted Hong Kong chicken, meat infused with subtle herbs. Not all parts of the skin was crispy but you get that mixed of texture throughout. However that sauce was superb had the prefect balance and not overly salty.Lastly for dessert we had dark chocolate which was decent but lacked a bit of the whiskey taste which we were expecting. The madeleines we received as complementary for our birthday celebration was divine! So light and airy with a hint of citrus flavor I think one of the best madeleines I have ever had! Came here for restaurant week, first had the Lingua Tonnata which the veal tongue just melted in your mouth a very light dish however personally would have preferred a stronger tuna flavor from the tonnata.Bolognese Ragu the pasta was al dente and cooked perfectly however the ragu itself lacks a bit of depth in flavor.Octopus was cooked perfectly not chewy nor dry. The sauce complimenting it was smokey and didn’t overpower the octopus itself.However the highlight of the meal was the dessert. The apples were seasoned with just enough cinnamon, the crispy pastry gave texture.Overall very decent meal but like said none of the dishes was outstanding to the point which will make me come back for them nor were they dishes I couldn’t find better elsewhere. This was a place which I’ve heard of but always been skeptical as generally fusion cuisine seems more gimmicky rather than serving decent food.Came when they were doing the “masterpiece” menu to sync with all the art events happening in the city. Each dish was prep with an art piece and concept in mind which I felt they did an excellent job in execution. Flavors and composition of the dishes was also generally on point with the exception of the dish “Sunflower Seed” which didn’t quite taste cohesive together.My favorite of the night was the Pollock Pollock a Langoustine, crab, mentaiko, seaweed dish as well as the dessert The Starry Night.Wine pairing was a miss for us, out of the 4 pairings the dessert wine was the one that sort of complimented with the dish.Overall I would say the experience was better than expected. An interesting twist to chinese cuisine, definitely wanted to callout that their sauces was all really outstanding and unique in it’s own way. Curious of how Korean cuisine could be fine dining hence came here to experience what that meant.The restaurant is cosy with only a handful of tables. Service was friendly but yet professional. Overall the dishes were very smoothing, the flavors were light and well balanced a bit unexpected for Korean cuisine which generally their flavors can be quite strong and overpowering. Felt even for those who aren’t fond of Korean food this place would be well received.Execution of the dishes were well presentable. The first few courses were impeccable my favorite was the Gomtang. However as the course went on the dishes started to feel a little underwhelming. Not that they weren’t delicious but they were less outstanding.We added the fried chicken as saw many said it was a must. The skin was crispy but the sauce was a bit thick for my liking which made it a little heavy even after 1 piece. The jang trio dessert concept was also interesting but execution was just soso, didn’t quite taste the difference of the 3 jang elements in the dish.Wine pairing was quite unique worth adding. Overall this place was decent would recommend to those who aren’t fond or skeptical of Korean cuisine. Came here for restaurant week and wasn’t disappointed. The appetizer was decent but the highlight was really the dishes with wagyu ravioli and the steak itself.The Wagyu Ravioli with Wild Mushrooms was so flavorful but yet it’s well balanced that you can taste both the beef and mushroom.For steak we had the Australian "Wagyu-Crossbred" Hanging Tender and American Prime "Black Angus" Ribeye Cap. Both steaks was cooked and prepared to perfection, pink on the inside and seared enough to give it a slight charred flavor. Surprisingly preferred the hanging tender more as it was more flavorful than the ribeye.Lastly dessert Smoked Black Sesame & Chocolate Ice Cream was a prefect ending. The nuttiest from the sesame with the chocolate almost tasted like Nutella but not overly sweet balanced with the shortcake base.Service was excellent on par to expectation of a Michelin starred restaurant. Disappointed as had high expectations from my previous experience at ronin and yardbird.I understand they were trying to be innovative with the pairing of flavors trying to infuse western and eastern ingredients but the execution was confusing and lack cohesion.For example the clam with corn and jin hua ham sauce was overly salty, to begin clams naturally would have a slight saltiness and by adding jin hua ham into the sauce together was overpowering. The sauce on it’s own was decent but didn’t go well with clams. The threadfin bream pickled cabbage differs from the sichuan style pickled fish flavors I would have imagined rather it tasted like pickled cabbages they give you for appetizers at chinese restaurants. Again the pickled cabbage and the fish itself flavor wise doesn’t complement each other. If you ate the fish on its own there was no pickled cabbage flavor.Secondly not worth the price, for example the geoduck for $180 only came with 2 pieces which the size was petite and they split the pieces in halves.Out of all the dishes the pumpkin mochi was probably the only one the flavors made sense. Yet texture wise they haven’t gotten that “mochi” texture right, as it tastes like a gnocchi rather than like those taiwanese sweet potato balls which I was expected for the name. Would give here a 3.5 rating, came here as was attracted by the kanafeh. Food overall there was some hits and some misses. The lamb chorizo and lamb tender shokaf was the highlight of the night, if you don’t might the gamey flavor of lamb then highly recommend to try these two. The hummus dips was also smooth. Worth trying.However the kanafeh which I was looking forward to trying was a bit underwhelming. There was no flavor to it, it was like eating crispy thin noodles dunk in syrup. Also tried the lamb testicle which was quite pricey for only 5 pieces. The texture was interesting, thought it would have been a creamy texture but instead when you bite into it actually has a more meaty texture.The waiters looked like she didn’t want to be there. Best place for tacos! So glad they finally reopened after renovations, as usually their tacos are the best in town. The tortillas is soft and the flavors of each taco is unique in it’s own way with different sauces making the whole meal here feeling excited.MUST have the fish tacos 👍👍 The oysters one was tasty, there was 3 pieces of oysters per taco as well as the Caulifornia veggie had a nice kick. Not really worth the price. Probably had high expectations since heard good rating of this place and knowing it was a Michelin star restaurant.Unfortunately the food was slightly underwhelming. Appetizers started pretty decent especially the razor clams and the snails. The marinade crab was much hyped but honestly it didn’t taste much different to the korean style marinade crab, with all the crab roe surprisingly the flavors was very mild.Next for main the meatloaf was probably the only one I would recommend. The chicken was alright, the skin was crisp but the flavor of the meat was nothing special and quite bland. The rest was very average. The worst was the fish which had a muddy aftertaste.Lastly the glutenous rice ball was good but they didn’t even bother to make an effort to make a dessert soup it was just served in water.Something to be aware of since its Ningbo cuisine generally over half of the dishes was spicy so wouldn’t recommend for those who can’t handle spice as there is limited option here.As a Michelin starred restaurant services was also quite appalling and unprofessional. For instance there were many occasions the waitress would just stick their arm in front of someone’s face while they were still eating just to refill wine/water rather than go around to the other side where the glass was placed at. This also happened when they tried to change plates. Another thing was there were some dishes we specifically requested 1 serving but they just automatically doubled the portion saying that it wouldn’t be possible to share amongst our group and we only found out when we were checking our bill. It’s definitely not about the food but the experience itself. Upon arrive you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. The decor a vintage luxury restaurant style from the wooden furniture to the silverware and the waiters in formal suits with white gloves.Food was generally above average but wouldn’t say any dish was memorable, the seared duck liver was perfectly cooked slightly crisp on the surface but still creamy inside. Lobsters soup was flavorful a dash of brandy is optional but added a slight smokiness to the flavor. Even though the portion was quite small but cause it was so rich towards the end felt it was getting a bit salty. After the appetizer a sorbet was offer to cleanse your pallet.Next the main was huge, the appetizer was quite small so the size of the main wasn’t expected. The rib eye was as big as the plate itself. The lamb it was perfectly cooked not too gamey. The surf & turf they deshelled lobster already which was thoughtful.Lastly tried the souffle which was airy and light whiles the cream brûlées the slight bitterness of caramel balanced the sweetness of the custard.We also preordered a birthday cake (Napoleon cake) which was just average, the cream cheese was a bit dense for my likingOverall the price might not justify the food itself but the whole dining experience was impeccable felt so taken cared of by all the staff there. A decent place for Indian cuisine but would say the food aren’t the most authentic I’ve had, they toned down on the spice level to more suit local taste buds as well as added some innovative twist in traditional cuisine.The samosa was our less favorite, the pastry was slightly thick and not flaky enough. Filling also lacks the level of spice, very mild flavors.The tandoori cauliflower was so soft it just melts in your mouth, felt like it was braised in buttermilk you can easily cut through it with your fork. Taste was good but quite rich and filling after a few servings.Next we had the lamp chop masala which was delicious but felt the spice level isn’t like other masala I’ve had, would recommend for those who isn’t that accepted of Indian spice.The naan was outstanding, so soft and flaky but yet you get a slight chewiness.Overall the food was decent but didn’t feel it was really authentic flavor more with a twist but the outcome is still pleasant.…查看更多

We opted for the chef’s choice.Our favorite was a shrimp dish with the egg hoppers. The kothu was one dish we wanted to try, taste was unique but quite a loaded dishes was pretty filling and heavy with all the carbs.
