Cheapish semi buffet lunch
Shahrazad Lebanese Dining Lounge & Bar
2023-03-19
lebanese is really a cuisine thats super rare for me to nom - or maybe I’m just overloaded with all the other cuisines, but honestly I really love hummus 🥹 and well I’m obsessed with anything potato…this spot has semi buffet during the weekend for lunch and well who doesn’t like the option of having unlimited noms - which offers all the lebanese classics from tabouleh, fattoush and ofc hummus 🙈on top you’re able to pick two other dishes - ones egg based and the other is a hot starter. I personally opted in for shakshuka and falafel 😇 also two of other dishes I’m quite fond of! it’s quite cheap for a weekend brunch, and the interior is stunning tehe - not a bad spot if I say so myself! …Read More

My sorta vibe 💯✨
Lau Haa Hot Pot Restaurant
2023-03-19
with straight translation, the place is actually called downstairs hotpot (laahau) - and that’s exactly what you get, a hidden(ish) underground hotpot spot to dip, nom and sip! love a duo broth pot; did I even hotpot if I didn’t have my full share of mala spicy soup and the second was a more tame (but yummy) coconut chicken broth, and in all fairness it’s all about balance with a mission of not having to through hell later after the meal 🤭quite the spread of noms on our table with all of my usual staples; cuttlefish paste, beef, lotus roots, enoki mushrooms etc. & I mean look at their tray of condiments, heart eyes all around! honestly quite surprised with the quality, was really good despite this being hella aesthetic and instagrammable but ofc I’m all up for it ✨ absolutely loved Chinese retro design that tries to recreate the hk street scene - there’s simplyno other place that can encapsulate big city hk vibes than this spot 👀 tip is book in advance otherwise you’ll have to wait for either the first / second seating to finish (so we started at 8:30pm onwards) to ensure for a good time ‘cause I’ll defo be coming back!…Read More

i liked how quiet it was, and how I was there a few hours without having to leave, plus bonus the interior aesthetic is my vibe, noms is ok, coffee was good with super cute latte art, but nothing too mind blowing imo 👀 they do have a lunch set menu with selected items - maybe I just want a dirty full British brekkie, I really miss wah …Read More

say no more cause who wouldn’t want unlimited dim sum and free flow alcohol with a flick of your hand 🙈 honestly I had such a great time here - the food was pretty good quality (and a hella lot of it) and you just pencil everything you wanna nom (the only way to order dim sum). It was just delicious and well the alcohol was more than drinkable, so really wanted cheers to that 🥂…Read More

For lunchies, the price is great for the portions you get, it’s a selected bunch for this menu and it’s ok for taste and you get a drink with the deal! I had the tom yum boat noodles, it’s not your typical thai, comes with ho fun noodles and it’s just absolutely filled, I didn’t particular get the spicy feel but my other colleagues were struggling a little bit 🙈 the green curry was lovely, and the fried noodles was good apparently!…Read More

would only melt for you 🍨🤭not like I just demolished a 15 piece omakase, just always got time and the space for a gelato or two 👀 first time visiting the store rather than the landmark pop-up, and they have special flavours that’s only available in each location! Each have their own exclusive hk flavours too; I got to nom the yuen yeung which is a tea x coffee flavour - right up my alley 😍 then ofc my second scoop was my favourite pistachio 💚 always an absolute treat here!…Read More

super authentic 🇻🇳
Pho Viet Authentic Hanoi Cuisine
2023-03-19
only a delicious bowl of pho, no biggie🤩just simple as; short, snappy and nomlicious - also represents how long it took me to slurp all of this up🥢. The irony is, it probs took me more time to queue, it’s defo one of those places where the queue actually makes a lot of sense, and I’d happily do it again 👀really found this place super authentic and true to northern styled viet, kinda teleported to Hanoi for a quickie 🇻🇳 just everything about how simple yet flavoursome the broth is, to the freshness of the beef; honestly happiness in a bowl *chefs kiss* and whole lot of coriander 🌿 pls take me back 🥹 …Read More

pleasant visit for my besties birthday ✨
Écriture
2023-03-19
🌟a french taste of a 2 star michelin 🌟absolutely delighted to have ticked this off my nomming list - named after ‘calligraphy’ in French 🖋️ and the experience was more than what I could have hoped for (and more) 🥹got the 5 course lunch menu - it’s a mix and match concept where you build up your menu from the list of starters, mains and desserts (instead of build the bear, it’s build your noms) 🤭the caviar and uni tart was no doubt stunning, fresh as can be, simultaneously creamy and melty - I confess it’s worth breaking bank for the supplement charge (no regrets) 💯 secondly, if you’re not into delicacies, maybe it’s best you don’t Google what shirako is but I personally like it lol, and this particular one is cooked in beignets dough, pickled radish, watermelon spicy persimmon jam.already cheekily previewed the turbot and it absolutely blew my mind, theatrical - and I love it! Just really appreciated how a blank turbot canvas transformed into a butterfly sort of moment ✨ the sauce vin jaune was so good, really a smokey punch of flavour with chorizo and ikura! The pigeon wasn’t too bad, but think I’ve already been won over by the first main hehe!dessert never fails to satisfy me, my chosen pear sorbet really was the cherry on top, quite liked the peanut praline tucked away, but it was the frozen pear that just elevated it with that extra oomph 🥹 was super lovely honestly & yet there’s the les gourmandises left to finish Japanese strawberries, chocolate tart and tropézienne … just happily stuffed I’ll tell you that, just take me back already!staff was super attentive the entire duration of lunch, I was the first to arrive and also the last to leave 🤭…Read More

cheap lunch food trays! 🇰🇷
Seng Seng Korean Cuisine
2023-03-19
where to find the best Korean food trays in hk 🇰🇷in my 5 years of living in homekong, I’ve always found myself coming back to this place for one reason only and it’s for their food trays!i mean who doesn’t love lunch noms that’s under $60 hkd, defo feel like I’ve won the lottery with this find, cheap eats for the absolute win 🌟. & I just can’t justify how huge these are either - such a bargain and amazing value for money! so be sure to pop to this place for lunchies, my favourite is the spicy stir fried pork with rice - super bomb and each tray comes with your fair share of delicious banchan just to get your five a day in 🤭great noms is meant to be shared - here you go and enjoy the rest of the weekend!…Read More

peanut butter shaved ice 💯
Auntie Sweet (Yiu Wa Street)
2023-03-19
peanut butter shaved ice ft. taro balls 🍧not gonna lie dipping the taro balls in the shaved ice just worked like magic 🪄 even though I’ve been here on multiple occasions, it’s always for the more Chinese desserts, but this time got to try their snow domes! as much as I’m utterly obsessed and loyal to shari shari, I really liked this peanut butter one from here 🤍 it’s my first one here and it happens to be one of my favourite flavours of all time - so light with some peanut brittle / crumbs as you dig, and for a deeper taste of pb, drizzle more of that sauce!I can understand why this is one of the top sellers here - makes total sense. The other is meh besides of the taro balls!tip: expect to be queues of people after dins so avoid peak hours 🥲 there’s plenty of sweet tooth’s in hk!…Read More

Skyline dinner ✨
Aqua
2022-11-06
Got to try this place for autumn restaurant week and it’s a pretty good deal with the amount of food (although it was the wine that bumped up the overall spend here), plus this is the ultimate spot for insane harbour skyline views of Hong Kong 🌃! I thought the oysters were pretty fresh, kinda wished we got 4 pieces instead of 2 🙊 the seared scallops x salmon was nice, much preferred over the tempura!the mezze maniche was the absolute star to my evening 🇮🇹, incredibly delicious and was nommed extremely quickly (not biased at all with the truffle) - was such an amazing follow up to their oysters (super fresh)! It honestly puts aqua roma into my books, when I thought the toyko side to the menu would triumph - surprised.Rest of the mains wasn’t too bad, but the chocolate mousse was also quite good - smooth, a good balance of sweetness, and a great finisher to the noms portion! even if you don’t fancy a dining experience, you can still dress fancy and hop to their rooftop bar - open to those who wanna just sip and just chill and appreciate the skyline ✨ Issa experience and a complete vibe no matter if it’s for noms or sips (or both)!…Read More

Uni afternoon tea 🤭
The Lounge & Bar
2022-11-06
Seasonal afternoon tea at the ritz; and it’s uni edition! it was interesting to say the least, I loved majority of the savouries but the uni sake jelly ricotta cheese tartlet with caviar on top was absolutely delicious 🥧 I do love a solid pastry base! Then the tofu lime uni cheesecake was quite simple yet effectively nom, and a personal special mention to the yuzu cream mandarin choux tehe 🍬 The only thing I wasn’t a fan off was the clementine jam, so I couldn’t finish my scones, but it’s an interesting afternoon tea with some good stuff 👀!Plus since it’s the ritz and we’re 102 floors up, so pretty much inclusive to the beautiful view of the hong kong skyline (no matter if it’s a gloomy day)🥹!…Read More

Japanese meets western cuisine 🤤
HAKU
2022-10-28
from tst, to crossing the harbour, to the very rooftop of ifc; a more contemporary Japanese cuisine that infuses a westernised fine dining experience ⚡️and this just makes nomming all the more fun!always go in having the expectation that you’ll gobble up each in a matter of seconds, although the snow crab was just a bite size, it was an amazing starter to ruffle your taste buds, toro was fresh and the chwanmushi was super unique - described and inspired by the American breakfast (sounds weird I know but defo has to be tasted to be explained) 🇺🇸can we take a moment just to admire the beauty of the short rib 🌸 almost too pretty to nom, but yano you can’t help but demolish the smokey thing… so worth the supplement of $200! if only the garlic parker house bread was unlimited, ‘cause oops might have already smeared like half of the truffle butter for one bite - super delicious and just happiness in a few bites 🍞Lastly, probably preferred the petite four for my dessert of the day, the chocolate was really yummy 🔺 and overall this was a great finish to this tasting!…Read More

Restaurant Week Lunch 🥢
UMI on Hollywood Road
2022-10-28
gotta always take advantage of restaurant week for the best foodie deals; so stoked that I got to visit here before we say farewell to chef Kimijima-san and say hello to chef Harada-san, so one last noms and one big hoorah to the ultimate taste of umi!we all know I have the biggest soft spot for this cuisine and this was d e l i c i o u s, actually very simple but simplicity is key by respecting the true flavours of each fish. Couldn’t help but get the additional uni and the seared smokey nigiris were my favourite - strong with unami and that’s why we like it 💯; self care sort of experience and almost like an escape to Japan in itself 🇯🇵 tasting menu plus the supplement uni for additional $188 on top of the $640 restaurant week menu!questionable entrance (took me a hot second) but absolutely beautiful interior with a floral tree hung from the ceiling while I overlook the whole journey from start to finish ✨…Read More

In need of a cute little spot to nom or a place to sip some coffee - this is your place! Interior and exterior is gorgeous, and is just the environment for any catch up or and occasion (defo a date spot) 🤭I quite liked the potato rosti, not your typical brunch dish and was a good different, has a bit of a crusty edge and wasn’t long until it was all gobbled up, was yummy and happy it was topped with some lovely salmon!& had to get one of the classics too; not bad. They have a variety for daily pastries 🥐- super happy they had banana bread, ‘cause it was delicious, would come back for it!…Read More
