The original place that we planned to go, the Bakehouse, was closed for Easter holidays. So we walked around to look for another cafe. Due to some miscommunication, my hubby and I ended up having our brunch here. From the shopfront, you can immediately tell it’s a Japanese style cafe, with simple design and wooden tables. My hubby had an egg benedict and an iced mocha. I had a French toast and a matcha latte.
The presentation of both plates were just soso. For the egg benedict, the taste of the eggs was not impressive. It was just like a sandwich with English muffin, eggs, ham and asparagus all put together. The French toast was way tooooo sweet for me. I actually ate the banana without the sugar glaze. The toast was soft but a bit oily.
Iced mocha only had a very light hint of coffee; the cream on top melted very quickly. Matcha latte was also not strong enough. With such price, you can grab much better coffee at the many cafes nearby.
Seats are limited and some people were reserving seats for their friends who didn’t come a while later. Overall it was a disappointing Sunday brunch experience.
