i usually go to this bakery whenever i go to stanley for yum cha or whatever because i love their croissants.A piece of that costs $15 and it is not like the usual ones you can buy in hk with the uber thin layers of oily puff pastries (even if you buy them at Le Salon De The & La Boutique at landmark, which people say on this site that they\'ve got the best ones). A piece of that costs $15 and it is not like the usual ones you can buy in hk with the uber thin layers of oily puff pastries (even if you buy them at Le Salon De The & La Boutique at landmark, which people say on this site that they\'ve got the best ones). The saffron croissant has a thicker outer crust with buttery layers inside (amount of butter just right), which i think gives it a nice, pleasing texture.
I\'ve also tried their biscotti (costs $10 each), both the almond sth flavor and the chocolate sth (dark brown) one. The former one tastes so so and has a weird cakey texture which makes it more like a dense cake rather than a biscotti. The latter one is nice though... it has a rich chocolatey flavor and is cripsy enough to be eaten after being dipped into a cuppa latte.
Their cookies (the large flat ones) are chewy enough but they tend to be on the sweet side.
love the ambience of this cafe too... would definetely go back again =]
