Today I pass by Gough Street, Central and notice there is a new eatery called Hunger Point under soft opening. The shop specializes in taco, taco rice bowl, eggettee (雞蛋仔) and low fat soft serve ice cream (低脂軟雪糕). The shop is furnished in a simple and modern style. Feeling a bit hungry, I decide to grab something for a quick lunch. I try a soft taco and a crispy taco as recommended by the shopkeeper. Both are tasty and provide a pleasant new dining experience, much to my satisfaction. WTF Pork Belly is a delicious soft taco with pork belly seasoned with various herbs, tomato salsa, guacamole and lettuce. The pork belly is juicy and has a good flavour and texture. XO prawn crispy taco with Chinese sausage, prawn, crispy noodle, homemade xo sauce and lettuce is refreshing and yummy. It is creative and appetising to infuse local elements like Chinese sausage, xo sauce, etc in Mexican taco.
I also try an eggettee with Chinese sausage (臘腸雞蛋仔). It is a nice try. The sweet eggettee combined with Chinese sausage is unique and tasty.
The price is resonable. Taco combo of two pieces is $72 only, and you may top up with a non-alcoholic drink at $8. The Chinese sausage eggettee costs $25.
I'll recommend you to try this new shop, and enjoy trial price during promotion period.
