This was the first time to MO for afternoon tea. Being MO members we were entitled to a free beverage which is a nice touch! We ordered the afternoon tea set for two and their signature Hainanese Chicken Rice. The afternoon set seemed much smaller than the other places in Hk for the price, so you are only really going for the reputation of the hotel and the prestige of dining in the hotel. The tea set I can say was nothing outstanding, but nothing bad. Savory dishes were only two, and could have done with one more. The sandwiches were fresh and moist, the scones were moist with nice tasty jam and clotted cream. The cakes and deserts were not overly sweet and the tea was TWG ☕️
The signature Hainan Chicken Rice set was a signature dish, the chicken was tasty, moist and the flavor was richly infused into the chicken meat, but the rice was dry.
Overall, good service, nice environment, but food wise was nothing special and you are really paying for the prestige of dining at the MO.
