This sushi bar serving sushi/sashimi omakase is tucked away inside of another Japanese restaurant. There is a single bar table where your personal sushi chef will create your sushi/sashimi course in front of you. The decor is a traditional Japanese wooden interior, bright, simple and clean. The staff coordinate with each other by whispering into their headsets, which seemed a bit weird since the restaurant was so small anyway. We got the sashimi omakase lunch at $880. We got the sashimi omakase lunch at $880. It was a mix of sashimi and sushi courses, served one at a time. Each piece was introduced by the chef, and was beautifully presented. I would say that while the taste is not as good as what you'd get in Japan, it's still fresh and as close as you can get without spending a fortune.
We got asked to settle our bill at exactly 1.5hrs after the booking, as there was another seating. Because we hadn't eaten our dessert yet, they served it outside in the izakaya restaurant. A bit weird to be kicked out of an omakase restaurant where you are paying so much, but I guess that's the difference between such restaurants in Japan and HK. It's clearly just about the money here, and less about the customer's experience.
Anyway, it's good value, so all is forgiven.
