I called in a reservation this morning for lunch with a friend.  There was only a noon seating available with the caveat that we had to return the table by 1pm.  My friend and then arranged to meet at 1145am so we could have more time to talk, however upon arriving at M88 elevators to the restaurant, we realized the lifts were turned off for 1/F.  As we were waiting, a queue developed of people looking for the early seating, to the point where we were basically blocking the sidewalk and lift lobby.  At precisely 12:00, the lift was switched on and we were allowed entry.  First out of the lift, we sat at the bar, and immediately ordered a few things directly with the sushi chefs.  We ordered normal set lunches plus a few add-ons, but they have a misleading menu whereby you can only get 1 add-on per customer, so there was a nasty surprise at the end of the meal with some ad-hoc pricing by the management.   And the food we ordered directly from he sushi chefs took about 25 minutes to arrive.  If they want the table back so quickly, would it kill them to open the restaurant at 11:45am and serve the food a bit quicker?  Having lived in Japan for several years, the food is fine, but the rest of the experience was pretty awful.  Will not go back.
