We had an amazing birthday dinner.

When we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by a French speaking hostess. Everyone was very friendly. The decor of the restaurant is very bistro style and very cool. It was the perfect mix of casual and fancy.

They only serve one main dish and it's usually rib eye steak. I usually take my steaks rare but I asked our server how does their chef recommend it. She says that their chef recommends medium rare and that's what my boyfriend and I both ordered.

The walnut salads was served almost immediately. The salad was fresh and the walnuts had the perfect texture.

We also ordered a bottled beer, and a cocktail similar to the Bloody Mary called "La Guillotine". It's really similar to the Bloody Mary except it tastes a bit more citrusy and had a hint of cucumber in it.

The bread was amazing. It was a little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's just like the fresh baguettes I've had in Paris.

Next came the fries. They were skinny fries, omg yeah for skinny fries. The fries were slightly seasoned and they tasted delicious even without any sauces. Oh and did I mention that the fries were bottomless? You could have as much fries as you wanted.

The timing of our steaks were perfect. Our server first set up a small metal rack with a small tea light underneath it. The tea light was there to keep our steaks warm so we could enjoy our bottomless fries without worrying about our steaks eating cold. Then she came back with a metal plate with both our steaks, which were nicely cut for us already, and some ketchup, and their special house sauce. Their special house sauce reminded me of béarnaise sauce. The house sauce and the skinny fries were a match made in heaven.

Our steaks were perfectly cooked, charred to perfection. It wasn't over seasoned and it tasted just right. It went perfectly well with French mustard. The steaks were tender and juicy and very meaty.

After the steaks we had dessert. They don't give you a traditional boring dessert menu. The servers will roll around a multilevelled cart filled with the different types of desserts for you to choose from. We got to choose from a traditional chocolate Brest, raspberry macaroon stuffed with raspberry jam and fresh raspberries, coconut cake, chocolate cake, crème brûlée, and mille feuilles. They served each type of dessert with fresh cream, blueberries, raspberries and homemade vanilla sauce. We went with the coconut cake and the raspberry macaroon and paired it with a hot cappuccino.

Since it was my boyfriend's birthday, they came around to sing happy birthday to him in French and even took a Polaroid picture for us to keep.

I love this restaurant and I'm def coming back again.
