Burger Joys is a burger place that has opened for quite some time. I often get recommendations from people who love burgers to give it a try. But for some reason or another, I always forget. So, one evening as I was way too lazy to make dinner, we decided to give this place a try.Located in Wanchai, right on the street where the bars are, is Burger Joys. Perhaps due to the location, it has an very good selection of alcohol. The layout is also a bit pub-like as well.Menu is in English and Chinese

Menu is in English and Chinese. They, however, offer more than burgers. They now have sides, chicken wings and fish and chips!
I decided to get Fish and Chips ($108) and chose onion rings as they happen to offer this option to you. In fact, you can choose a variety of sides and not just fries! I like this amount of choice.
The onion rings were very good. The coating was not too thick and very crunchy. There was a decent amount of onion that was cooked so well, it was sweet.
The white fish was cooked perfectly. Still flakey and the coating was also not too thick.
But as we were in Burger Joys, boyfriend got himself a Cheeseburger ($110). A really hefty size, the patty was sandwiched between a soft buttery brioche that held together well. It didn't fall apart while eating! The smashed beef patty was well seasoned and juicy. The cheese was melted well and we found lettuce, red onions and pickles! Three slices of pickles! Definitely not stingy there.
He also added a Combo ($42) which includes shoe string fries and a choice of soft drink or pint of beer. I don't think we've ever come across a place that offers beer as part of the combo. The fries were really good. Seasoned and crisp. One of the better fries we've come across in a while.
I can see why several people kept recommending this place as a good burger place. It really is. And I liked how there are several choices so you aren't stuck with what you don't want. They are very flexible. Will be back.
