Wu Kong Shanghai Restaurant serves traditional Chinese cuisine to the table. They are most famous for the Hairy Crab Cake with Steamed Rice. I’m not a fan of seafood but I had a bite however let us avoid the biased criticism on seafood haha.Must say the services were above satisfactory. Booked a table for 6 people turns out there’s 9 of us, we all got there and only wait for a few minutes and got a table even though it was during peak hours. The waitress made an exception for us and combined two tables together, very nice yes. Food was lovely, highly recommend the egg white fried rice and hairy crab cake with steamed rice (only if you fancy seafood).Ordered Peking Duck but wasn’t the best, definitely cannot be classified as their specialty. If your looking for Peking Duck, Wu Kong Shanghai Restaurant is not the one.Overall, satisfactory restaurant, not the greatest, but fair. continue reading

滬江這間上海菜的老字號,一直是爸爸的心水飯店,所以也選了在這𥚃吃中秋節晚飯,沒想到竟然中伏了。頭盤有舟山紅蜇頭,即海蜇頭,爽口但調味不夠,很淡味;素鵝炸得香脆,但部分餡料較少;油炆茭白很入味而不鹹,算是這晚較好的菜式。主菜有糖醋魚塊,魚塊除了醬汁的酸甜味便沒有其他味道;板栗冬菇花膠煲的花膠有點腥,內裡的筍很老;春卷和鍋貼正常;雲吞雞湯完全沒有雞味,只有黃牙白味;片皮鴨烤得太耐,韌得根本咬不到,結果吃剩了大半碟。這時我們想向部長反映一下,第一個部長說他們的鴨不會有問題就立刻轉身就走了;第二個部長則說每個師傅烤鴨的時間各有不同,控制火候亦有所不同,所以有時候會烤耐了,其實我們只希望他們正視一下食物質素的問題而已。一番狡辯後,部長主動提出送甜品,我們便點了高力豆沙,可是部長又說高力豆沙不是新鮮做,不同師傅炸又可能會炸過頭,叫我們改點其他甜品,結果炸得顏色較深,味道不過不失。沒想到光顧多年,最後竟會如此失望,希望飯店能正視問題並作出改善,不過我們已不會再去了。 continue reading

下午茶時段放飯,黎咗尖沙咀呢間食,2點幾開始有下午茶套餐,一個飯或粉麵,配一個小食,58蚊,冇加一冇茶芥,好抵! 職員仲要好貼心問我有冇印花卡,原來食一次呢個set,就蓋一個印仔,集齊5個就有一個免費set食,呢個gimmick都唔錯吖。我試咗雪菜肉絲炒年糕,配葱油餅,主角年糕太鹹,但很軟滑,雪菜同肉絲都唔多,但年糕份量好足夠。另外葱油餅係正宗上海版,香港已經好少地方食到,很脆口,葱份量剛好,仲想食多隻添。tea時段冇乜人,夠靜! continue reading

在香港上館子吃椒剁,無論酒樓或是道地小廚,一般都是用魚頭,用魚標卻是少見,所以來這兒吃到是少不了這菜色。每只小魚標都帶著滿滿的脂肪,軟滑綿綿,一入口就快要溶化了!椒剁醃製過但辣味卻是輕輕的,足夠刺激味蕾卻不過火,吃著吃著,有點醉了的感覺呢!除了白飯,也要了雪菜開洋粉皮。皮軟滑彈牙,雖然要求了少雪菜,但因為裡面加入小蝦來做配料,本身已經夠味,再點些少魚標的醬汁,就更香口了!再來一個醃篤鮮,還有甜品⋯⋯ continue reading
