This place always get booked out during lunch time, and finally waiting for a few weeks, I secured a place to eat here. The restaurant is downstairs from the lobby of a hotel. So you must be ok to go down stairs (disabled and elderly, beware) I would say they only have around 20 table seats, and half a dozen bar seats. So it is truly tiny. But what it lacks in seats makes up in food! I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food. I particularly like the corn Khichdi. The service is a bit slow, but the food is tasty and good portion size. Lunch set is good value and I can't wait to go back again! continue reading

This is my third visit to VEDA. To be honest the food dishes and drinks here are not very economical. Given that the food is sooooo delicious, no wonder why we visit it again and again.Arriving at around 6:30pm, the skies were getting dimmer. This glasshouse signatured with black metal frames is soooo distinctive on the slope.Sitting near the bar table, we could view the outside through the glass walls. Chitchatting and witnessing the process of turning from day to night was soooo enjoyable.The menu is updated, with some new appetizer and dessert options, while the signatured dishes like momos and gnocchi are still available.Paniyaram (10/10): While momos were our must-ordered items in our previous visits, we agreed to try something new this time and luckily it was equally delicious. These balls taste like butter-filled cakes with a spongy texture and a crispy surface. The coconut and tomato-tamarined sauces polish them to have a richer content.Soba noodle salad (8/10): The amount dressing is just right so that the noodles are not too moist. A good source of carbohydrates and a great appetite booster xdCashew cheese naan tartine (10/10): This pizza-like naan is amazing! It is a sweet dish and the sauce is a bit mashed coconut. The honey enlightens the overall taste and I appreciate the cheese and cherry tomatoes as the toppings.Semolina cake (8/10): While the fig cheesecake is always my favorite dessert, the semolina cake worths a try. The pistachio ice cream on top is sooooo delicious with an exceptionally strong flavor of the nuts. The cake itself tastes like something between steamed turnip cake and coconut crepe cake. But I’ll go back to the fig cheesecake anyway hahaFor the drinks we ordered one smoothie and one cocktail. I would say they are perfect to play an assiting role in the meal. But the food is a lot more amazing and memorable.Summary: No matter you are vegetarian or not, you will have an enjoyable meal here. My first visit was in Feb and 5 months later the quality of the food is good as before. And I do appreciate the update of the menu. The new options keep amazing us. VEDA makes sure you won’t get tired of being a vegetarian with its unique fusion dishes, and while we aren’t quite ready to give up meat yet, we’ll definitely more motivated for green Mondays 🥗Our waitress was super helpful in explaining all the exotic dishes to us, as we were pretty overwhelmed by all the unfamiliar names on the menu One of the dishes that stood out were the dumplings, as the cheese inside paired with spinach tasted just as good as meat fillings  If you don’t dip the (super spicy) chili sauce, you can taste the sweetness of the tomatoes (but still a little spicy).We also really enjoyed the baked cauliflower with crispy potatoes 🥔, which went really well with the distinct Indian spices in the curry sauce (not very spicy).The pizza was yummy, but the soba noodle salad was a little dry as there wasn't enough sauce.*Tip* - call to book in advance (dinner time slots: 6:30pm or 8:30pm) as it gets pretty full! continue reading

因為咁啱去到中環,而呢一間素食餐廳都想試左好耐好似幾有特色咁餐廳嘅裝修幾舒服但係張枱比較細張,所以不可以一次過放到好多嘢食當日我哋差不多6點15分就去到餐廳都已經有兩台客,然之後坐低左 陸陸續續都有唔少嘅客人入到黎餐廳但係因為枱同枱之間個空間比較小所以如果傾計嘅話都幾嘈成日都聽到隔離枱講乜不過食物先係重點:食物選擇就唔算好多嘅但係佢係重質不重量baked aloo Gobi呢一個係一個焗椰菜花之後醬汁係咖喱汁,帶有少少椰奶嘅香味。薯粒配上醬汁非常之香口令人食過不停。椰菜花亦都焗得啱啱好唔會話好硬。Nepalese ricotta spinach momos呢一個有啲似普通我哋食開嘅餃子,不過有好重嘅芝士味同埋好豐富嘅菠菜所以食落去都幾香口soba noodles salad呢個沙律非常之清新因為佢配上大量嘅唔同蔬菜,配上醬汁非常之開胃整體來講餐廳嘅食物唔錯但係熱食就唔夠熱啦同埋服務態度其實都不差。 continue reading
