以前經過以為只係飲茶嘅地方,看門面見內部簡潔, 門口只放咗一個餐牌, 打開睇完通常會轉身走人, 但後來聽罷電台節目”飲食得喜”主持人的介紹才得知這裡係可以開飯嘅, 重話煮得幾出色添, 菜式係傳統廣東菜, 唔係酒家菜式反而係小家碧玉型, 港式阿媽煮飯那種鯪魚肉餅呀,蒸肉餅之類, 所以之前經過揭完餐牌走人, 心諗菜式好普通啫, 但收得貴都係有d道理嘅! 唔係話佢用的鯪魚肉特別靚特別貴, 而係會食得出做的人那份手藝/心機, 並非用咗什麼特別品牌的回黑豬的什麼矝貴部位的豬肉做的肉餅, 做出來的質感係令你都會想講”豬肉餅咪係咁嘅囉!”平平無奇嘅樣子喎, 無錯, 的確好平凡但食落去就知道佢不平凡的口感同味道, 鯪魚肉餅就只是一般厚薄的幾件, 一咬下就知道主持人讚好的是那薄薄煎成薄片的脆衣, 魚肉只是緊緊熟咗鎖住魚肉的汁, 調味料應該只是最簡單的鹽/糖, 就是這種不加裝飾只等食物本身自我演繹, 這種任由食材自由發揮的精神,任由外觀的不完美及無俢飾主義又來得有點禪味, 而接受世間無常就更加是無意之中入了禪, 聽店主講因為請唔到幫手(跑樓面) 自己又做咗十幾年, 接受現實退下來休息, 租約至九月, 又一

Other Info. : 味道是這店的強項,到目前為止能夠做到這種味道的店,以中菜來說未曾遇到,以後能否遇上看緣份吧!機會率就像張國榮跟張曼玉在電影"緣份"內的煞科一幕 - 大家在不同月台上車,有緣的話大家就可以遇上!

餛飩皮層恰如北方餃子的厚重,質感帶點韌性,不過卻少了一份麵香。餡料中肉的比重較多,我喜歡的菜只是輕輕帶過,不過味道卻很自然。誠言餛飩並不是紅油抄手的焦點,焦點反而落在醬汁之中。醬汁的辣度不強,可是醋汁香醇味美,甜中滲著輕酸。最後,老公還把醋汁拌米飯來吃!

一試粉絲,更感嘩然!粉絲質感不算太爽,但在吸收醬汁後,能維持這般彈牙的口感,已是相當不俗。而每一條粉絲也滲出香甜濃郁的鮮蝦香氣,味道令人讚嘆!原來廚師用大量鮮蝦精心熬製蝦汁,然後再混和粉絲,因此在每條粉絲上全是精華所在,美味得不能罷休!

二人晚餐還包含桂花榚作甜品。桂花味道清幽,帶著輕甜,質感自然,還算不錯!

當晚在「緻好」的客人多是用餐,沒有看到品茶的客人,但氣氛卻寧靜舒適,就連唯一的女侍應,談話也是如詩般溫婉。至於食物,「緻好」有著家裡純和的味道,但水準與技巧卻要比一般家庭高及精細,這種美味很不商業,但偏偏在一個極之商業化的社會裡出現,可說是奇蹟!

最後文質彬彬的老闆出現,跟我們細談了「緻好」由茶室發展至現在主力於小菜的過程,我不禁一問為何在瞬間能找到手藝如斯出眾的廚師,他的答案令我為之側目,原來廚師就是眼前的他,還有他並未露面的太太。怪不得出菜的速度異常的慢,但我一點也絕不介意,「緻好」的菜是慢得有道理!

受爸爸的感染,從小也懂得品嚐美味,更得到父親的珍傳,加上自學,這雙文質彬彬的巧手給我們弄來溫文儒雅的菜色!

To start...we ordered fish dim sum and pork dim sum...the fish dim sum arrived on a lovely bed of braised lettuce with a light broth. The wrapping was light and the fish and spring onion tasted delicate. The pork was in a slightly spicy soy sauce and also very tasty.

We then had tofu with garlic, steamed choi sum, ground pork and noodles in broth....

The tofu was fresh and delicately flavored with garlic, the steamed choi sum was cooked just to perfection, not too crunchy, not at all soggy and the ground pork was filling and rich tasting. I thought the noodles were a little bland and boring which was the only criticism of the whole meal!

NO MSG! NO drowning with soy sauce or grease or oil!

Just real, delicate cooking with fresh ingredients.....

Beer and tea completed a very nice meal for the amazing price of $1400 for 11 people!

Not fancy, not elegant but clean, lovely service, and they speak English to boot....


Other Info. : We felt we had discovered a secret in Hong Kong...a great local very reasonably priced Chinese meal in the heart of SOHO! Now....no longer a secret!

唯一一樣野熱得剛好既就係每人都有一碟既炒菜!
好清既菜, 一d油都無, 同事食慣濃味就會問佢拎蠔油, 我就覺得ok~

最後仲有個甜品 - 茉莉花茶糕點
其實好似桂花糕, 不過變左茉莉花茶, 入面再加左d西柚粒
同事覺得苦苦地好怪, 不過因為佢唔係加好多西柚粒, 所以我就覺得同甜甜地既糕點配搭剛好
不過呢...真係食唔到茉莉花味囉....

呢間叫Tea House, 但奉上既茶就無咩特別
我地見佢檯面有個鐵盤, 掀起下面有個好似煲水既野, 估計係成壺茶放係檯面, 俾客人熱住既
應該都得意, 不過lunch hour可能無得咁試吧...

但因為全部份量唔算多, 而且唔夠熱, 真係失望左, 所以埋單個陣就覺得貴喇...
不過環境幾靜, 如果身邊坐既客人唔大聲講野, 真係幾舒服既
(我地坐坐下就有一檯4人入黎, 講野大大聲, 就真係唔多感受到舒服既感覺 = =")

I revisited Vbest recently having much fond memories of the genuine taste, fresh ingredients and I am still a fan after more than 10 times. This is a great Chinese restaurant if you are hoping for a peaceful, quiet, delicious and low caloric meal. Great place for ladies' Chinese lunch. Generally the food here is lower in oil content compared to most Chinese restaurants and they dont' use any MSG. I revisited Vbest recently having much fond memories of the genuine taste, fresh ingredients and I am still a fan after more than 10 times. This is a great Chinese restaurant if you are hoping for a peaceful, quiet, delicious and low caloric meal. Great place for ladies' Chinese lunch. Generally the food here is lower in oil content compared to most Chinese restaurants and they dont' use any MSG. Usually, with less oil and no msg, you would need really good ingredients to make the food taste just as good. This place is exactly that. However, please be forewarned that this is NOT the place for birdnests, sharksfin, abalone and the like. It does not have glitzy decorations nor a swanky "impress your client" menu. It's a good place to take your best friends for a hearty homecooked meal plumped with great ingredients and good tea.
The lunch deal is pretty attractive at HK$69 which comes with a main dish, vegetables and option of rice or noodles. However, this can be sometimes boring as one main dish per person is really not that interesting for Chinese food. I do wish they can offer a two/three main dish option with smaller portions of each.
For dinner (these dishes also available for lunch)
My favorite dishes are
(1)Spring onion frogs legs (姜葱田鸡). One of the most succulent, freshest, fattest frogs legs. Mildly flavored sauce lets you really taste the tender fleshy thighs and the sauce is incredible with white rice. For those who haven't tried frogs' legs, it tastes like a miniature chicken drumstick but more plump, tender, juicy and yet muscular.
(2) Vermicelli with shrimps (粉丝虾):As quoted by previous reviewer, this is one of the best dishes. Fresh crunchy shrimps, smooth transparent glass noodles with finely diced spring onions sprinkled on top. Light and seafoody flavor all infused into the glass noodles. Yumm!
(3) Fish dumplings with spinach (破菜鱼水饺): No fishy taste but you can tell there's quite a lot of fish and fresh green spinach minced in the filling. Healthy and tasty. The skin is "al dente" and not too soft, it has a northen dumpling chewy texture.
(4) Spicy dumplings: 红油抄手: The dumpings have smooth slippery skin with a meaty pork/vegetable filling and it's tossed in this fragrant dark chilly oil with spring onions. Once you have one, you would want to eat all of them.
(4) Omelette with onions and potatos: (can't remember the chinese translation) This is a homely dish and something my mum would make at home for me.. The thick firm omelette is fried with lots soft potatoes and onions, it's slightly salty but really substantial and will fill you up really quickly. If you are looking to fill up quickly with one dish, this is it.
(5) Fish Cakes (鱼饼): Many of my friends love this and think it is one of the better fish cakes but I have never been a fish cake fan and I shan't comment.
(6) Smoked duck breast (熏鸭胸):Smokey, slightly sweet slices of duck breasts. Some friends do find this a little sweet but I love this dish with the balance of smokiness and sweetness all presented in each bite of the thinly sliced duck breasts.
(7) Ma po To Fu (麻婆豆腐): This is a not too spicy version and comes in a small bowl. For friends who can eat a lot of spice find this a little too mild though I still like it as the tofu is not that overly smooth type but has some airpockets and steeped in flavor of the sauce and the minced meat in the sauce is the perfect complement to white rice.
(8) You can also pre-order the chicken a day ahead. It's steamed chicken with fragrant chinese wine. Very delicious. but i don't plan ahead enough to eat this often. I've only had it once and it was great.
(9) Five spiced beef (cold cut): 五香牛辗。 The cuts have a good balance of the fat parts and the lean parts. Some places have the beef completely soft and melty (which i don't like) but this one has bite and has a strong beefy flavor.

So what is the downside? It's a little bit expensive for some dishes (like the small vermicelli with prawns HK$ 168). Other dishes like dumpings are about 55 which is quite reasonable. I am always willing to pay more for a quiet nice ambience so you can have a good conversation without feeling like you have to yell (as in some chinese restaurants).
Service is decent and polite. The owner is a polite, well-presented man and his sons occasionally help out at the restaurant. Basically a family run place with lots of soul and great simple food. Let me know if you like it!

一邊食,一邊在腦內盤算:「飯後,老闆會唔會送甜品俾我地?抑或會打個折頭作為補償?」原來是我諗多了,什麼也沒有發生。只在離開時,那位先生再次很從容地說不好意思;或者,他是真心的跟我們說,但坦白說,我感覺不到。

一家小店最好的地方就是可直接跟客人多點溝通、了解客人需要,從而提供一個良好進餐環境,讓客人愉快地享用美味的食物。

如其他食友所點評,這家餐廳的食物水準是不俗的,環境也很舒適,奈何配上這等服務,令人不禁嘆一口氣!

各位食友,假若到此餐廳用膳,點菜後,記得請服務員覆述一次,以免重蹈我們的覆轍。

是次由於他們落錯單,每人平均消費由 $110左右,變為$150

Delicious understated menu. Very well executed homecooked dishes. Will definitely come back.Smoked duck breast was delicious and so was the spicy dumplings and soup dumplings. 緻好茶館是中環吃午餐的一個好地方,雖然它位處於SOHO的橫街中,不易被發現,但亦是這個原因它給我一個中環區少有的寧靜感。不難吃出它的食物十分清,絕不是味精菜。午市有約10種不同的套餐,全都是跟一碟菜及甜品(桂花糕或椰汁糕)。波菜魚柳雲吞米線,煎家鄉鯪魚餅,煙鴨胸都是午餐的至愛選擇。尤其愛用它們點豬頸肉的醬去點鯪魚餅,煙鴨胸,相當美味。晚飯的選擇較為多,但由於晚市並不算太旺的關係,最好預先打電話預訂心水菜。我自己的心水選擇就是沙嗲牛肉,蝦粉絲和Wasabi魚柳。但老實說晚餐的水準有時不太穩定。喜歡這家食店的原因是每次用膳後都感覺清新,沒有味精纏身的感覺。

The tea menu read like a wine list, was confusing for tea beginners like us, so the manager recommended something that was light and refreshing. Can't remember what it was, but it was very 清, and almost tasteless I have to say, next time will stick to something less exotic... The manager gave us some beans and snacks to go with the tea, and we also tried the osmanthus cake.... that was the best ever osmanthus cake i've tried!!! Very fragrant, the flower petals, anthers and so one were perfectly preserved in the jelly, but melts once in your mouth so you won't feel like you're a cow chewing on cud... the manager said they don't make it everyday, more of a chance thing if you come on the right day...

The second time I came was with another friend for dinner. We ordered half a chicken (only because the manager said another customer ordered the other half earlier and they have one portion left to sell...), vegetables, and some other dishes to go with the rice. The food was a bit oily, and the portions on the small side, not really worth that price, about $300 a person including tea.

Always come here for lunch on weekdays, the mapo doufu and mayi shangshu are my favourite dishes with rice. They taste like dishes cooked by your grandma, no MSG & not super spicy.Yet also tried other dishes e.g. stir fry fish w corn source, beef brisket in clear soup (in taiwanese I think), pork-neck meat -> average only.

We went there as a gang of of 7. Very close friends. We came out hating the couple who introduced us there. Simply ripping people off! $170 for few slices of pork, a couple of dumplings and pre-packaged, apparently smoked duck breast and worst of all that half-warm soup that we spent 30 minutes waiting for and finished in 30 seconds. Never again!!

呢間茶室主要係飲茶,但其實佢D野食都好好味架!上次去飲一隻唔知乜野茶,飲時甘甘地dap dap下有陣甜味,雖然細細杯但好解渴~ 再講下D野食,必食堆介一定係水雲雲吞,好有咬感而且好好味,正!另外家鄉魚餅同煙鴨胸都好好味!至於甜品,椰汁糕同茉莉桂花糕都好出色,甜度適中,yummy!
