赤柱,是一個華洋共處的一個小地方。更甚的是,沒有遊客的赤柱,可以說是外國人比中國人更多。說到飲食,好自然地會想到去海邊的酒吧及餐廳,食返個靚靚西餐。但身為華人的我們,始終都係想有啖飯落肚。然後,我在赤柱市集的後山上,發現了這一家老字號《赤柱酒家》。可是這一家老字號的中餐館,於2022年11月30日光榮結業了。很開心的,因為未入到去已經可以在門口看到全間餐廳,中英對照的 menu。這時候,太太也行過來了,笑說,點解咁似以前係英國唐人街既中餐館既。這時我才回想起,外國的餐廳係好興把 menu 放係門口,讓客人覺得真係有野啱食才入來。當然,我們是細閱了門口 menu,發現有野啱大家食才決定入來晚餐。而且,當我們真正地坐低細閱 menu 揀小菜時,我會心笑一笑,這的確是英國埠仔中餐館既餐牌啊。當我們點的其中一味,牛腩煲時,這英國唐餐的感覺,更加之濃厚。一煲濃濃香香的柱候牛腩煲,夾了香蔥、芹菜,這完全令我回想起當年在 Manchester 唐人街晚餐時的出品。味道夠濃,菜同蔥都充滿了牛腩的香濃味道,是一個會令人添飯的佳物。有小朋友同行,當然要點一些小朋友一定喜歡的食品。然而,好自然地就會點上咕嚕類型的東西。而我們看中的,是吉列蝦球。本以為只是炸蝦加沙律醬,誰知是連同一個味道酸甜醒胃的甜酸汁,不單只小朋友,連我也吃不停口,小女兒更用那甜酸汁撈飯食。選中餐的原因,因為能保證有一系列的蔬菜類食品。太太選擇的,是紅燒豆腐。大家一看,又是好基本的英式中菜。走過油的硬豆腐,再用上了罐頭草菇,再用上細心挑成的紅蘿蔔蝴蝶,最後加入了一個味道美味的豉油汁,咸咸地,有豉香也有豆香,也是一個伴飯吃的佳物。本來,我們只叫了兩碗飯,後來不得不再加一碗。因為向來半碗飯的太太也要添飯食啊。這一餐,真係好像去了外國食唐餐一樣。菜式好啱外國人口味,當日場內的確也有一、二檯外國人家庭在用餐,令到這一間餐廳,好有外國 feel。只可惜,老闆退休了,後繼無人,只好光榮結業了。 continue reading

好耐冇去過傳統嘅中式酒家地方唔算好大但勝在夠扺主要做街坊生意幾十蚊碟小菜都幾扺埋單每人唔使100推薦中式牛柳同粟米斑塊中式牛柳大大件充滿茄香肉質軟淋淋老人家都食到粟米斑塊都係啖啖肉之選幾清新乾炒牛河同星洲炒米好大碟一個人一定食唔曬咸魚雞粒炒飯都唔錯鹹魚廿香好高質雞肉都多,切都大大粒雖然裝修比較陳舊地方唔算好乾淨行完山去都係一個唔錯既選擇同埋香港已經淨番好少呢類茶樓都算係一個特色嚟聽講佢哋嘅點心都唔錯下次要試下 continue reading

Pretty standard Chinese food & Dim Sum with English available alongside the Chinese menus (however, some items like the list featured on the signage board outside the door seem to be in Chinese only).Hours are convenient as they're open very early and close very late, and service is quite quick. I've dined-in before, but I mostly visit to order takeout. Even when it's busy with seated guests, my takeout food is ready promptly. Quality is decent and consistent--it's not the cheapest fare around but with the larger portions it's honestly alright; food can be a little oily but not egregiously so.Staff have been consistently friendly (and helpful, considering my language barrier) in all my visits. continue reading

寒流來到得番二度,真的不想出街,但晨早凍醒加上肚內的為食蟲大叫,唯有在附近開餐,這間赤柱唯一的舊式酒樓,食乜點心要睇緣份,有乜出就食乜,唔好強求唔好多選擇,而且過左十點就未必再有點心出,總之一切隨緣。鮮蝦腸粉:蝦肉尚算新鮮爽口,不算大隻,米漿有味但不算滑,有質感分量那種。鳳爪骨飯:一般啦,排骨都算新鮮,不似雪藏貨。蝦餃:皮不錯,內裡像舊式的碎蝦肉加荀粒,味道ok。鴨腳:重味野,蒸得夠淋。雞扎:ok, 好似包魚肚(但形狀似豬皮), but 味道不錯。沖沖飽餐後要立即回家冬眠了。 continue reading

平日的中午時份到訪,人客很多,而且絕大部份似是在附近工地工作的男士,陽光氣極重。和其他酒家不一樣,這店雖有少量點心款式供應,大部份人還是吃「碟頭飯」,我也入鄉随俗吧!牛腩飯:牛腩切成粒狀,少了口感,肉香亦不突出。醬汁略為濃稠,整體評分一般。餐肉煎蛋飯:全部都是現成簡單的食材,可變的不多,水準合預期。清炒白菜仔:少油一點更佳。最後一談服務,小弟嘗試打電話預訂枱子,店員一句話無連再見也沒說便中斷了電話,so mean! continue reading
