I haven't been to Regent(previously known as Intercontinental) since its reopening. They recently launched their Wizard of Oz themed afternoon tea and I decided to try it.Besides the decoraiton, I appreciated how they gave some thoughts regarding the desserts matching the characters in Oz (though this is just my interpretation)The lemony dessert was designed to mimick Dorothy's Iconic Blue dress. The Chocolate beside the screw also has a small heart signifying the heart that was always inside the Tinman. The crunchy(fierce) exterior with the honey(sweet) interior matched the lion with a sweet nature.The scone had 3 large plates of toppings and the most interesting flavor was the oolong peach jam.I was also impressed by their finger sandwiches which was just features as prominent as the desserts. The blue crab with pomelo was definitely best one for the summer season. Although quite pricey out of all the afternoon teas out there, I would say it was definitely worth the price. continue reading

Indulge in beautiful sunshine with breathtaking views. Dining at Regent is a great delight.Food was fresh, in splendid presentation. My main course Roasted Chicken Leg was slow-cooked and roasted for perfection. The meat was tender and juicy. And the side dish Anna Potatoes was crispy on the outside and tender inside, very impressive.A big thumb up to Bob and Bonnie.They’re very professional and attentive. 如果要在吃完午茶之後再吃Afternoon Tea, 對我的胃來說真的有一定壓力, 我也不像以前般可以吃得很多餐, 所以麗晶酒店Lobby Lounge提供了可以在午餐時間吃的Afternoon Tea, 這種舉動相當貼心. 雖然酒店從洲際改回麗晶這名字, 也經歷過大裝修, 但裝修和景色沒有太大改變, 到時經典的超大落地玻璃, 能夠與維港的美景一起用餐. 兩人用的Afternoon Tea大約八百多元, 五星級酒店的基本價錢. 先要稱讚酒店的員工, 服務細心而且Attentive, 在香港的餐飲界越來越罕見, 但其實基本的應該要這樣.甜點和鹹點的選擇和一般的分別不大, 到時三文治, Scones和精緻蛋糕的結合, 三文治的麵包可以在軟熟一點, 用料也算是可以, 既有魚子醬和黑松露作點綴, 麵包也有不同的本味, 例如蕃茄, 但內餡味道不夠突出. Scones對我而言是Afternoon Tea的靈魂, 酥香度夠, 內裡也比麵包的軟熟, 不會乾如粉狀, 果醬選擇不少, 但Clotted Cream可以再滑, 表現比三文治好. 至於甜點, 外表不錯, 特別是炸蜜糖小冬甩, 顏色對比也不錯, 但偏向死甜, 不夠吸引.Having Afternoon Tea after lunch can be quite heavy on the stomach, as I can no longer eat as much as before. Regent’s Lobby Lounge‘s decision to offer Afternoon Tea during lunchtime is thoughtful. Though the hotel has been renovated and renamed, the classic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the harbor remain. The Afternoon Tea for two costs around HKD800, a reasonable price for a five-star hotel. continue reading

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic cityscape and waterfront illuminations, providing the perfect setting to indulge while taking in the luxury of premiere harbour-front location within Hong Kong's iconic Regent hotel. - HIGHLIGHT -Organic egg / Caviar / Spinach (8/10) This reimagined egg dish thrilled from the first bite. It was an artfully wrapped package coated in the crispiest fried crust, and bursting it open revealed the still-runny egg yolk rich with texture and flavor. Alongside, decadent dollops of caviar and creamy spinach brought new dimensions of taste and indulgence. Both comfortingly familiar and refined, it updated a humble staple into an indulgent experience. Beef tenderloin / Artichoke / Bone marrow butter (8/10) This steak preparation delivered intense flavors in every bite. Even with its thick cut, the beef was cooked to absolute perfection, with a rosy pink flesh that practically melted on the tongue. Enriched by a lush bone marrow butter and accompanied by caramelized artichoke hearts, the balanced flavors created a subtly complex harmony.  Tahitian Vanilla Mille-feuille / Caramel sea salt butter (8/10) Layers of buttery puff pastry were interrupted by slick tongues of vanilla cream possessing an appropriate sweetness. Paired with salted caramel butter, it was further enhanced with each sweet and savory streak. Most remarkably, even after a rich meal the pastry stuffing was not too overwhelming. - WE ALSO HAD -Hamachi / Carrot / Tiger sauce (7.5/10) Seabass / Asparagus / Milk Turmeric (7.5/10) Japanese white peach melba / Vanilla ice cream / Raspberry coulis (7/10)  continue reading
