係灣仔行利東街嘅時候經過大同,記起蘋果介紹過佢地皮蛋酥,所以買左個嚟試吓。個皮蛋酥頗細,一切開見到個粒皮蛋超級細,有d失望…因為之前係d街坊小舖食過既皮蛋酥d皮蛋都未試過咁細粒…可能一定要買嗰個巨型皮蛋酥先可以試到大同既厲害。另外,買咗老婆餅,個餡唔甜,比較實,冇我鍾意既軟糯感覺。

大同老餅家每日有新鮮出爐嘅面包外,仲有好多唔同嘅中式餅,例如:光酥餅,雞仔餅,老婆餅,皮蛋酥等等,每一個都落足料,有重量,夠味道雖然每個人都推薦老婆餅,但係我今次買呢個係白餅,因為傳統白餅唔係日日都有,而且係限量發售,因為做嘅方法同時間都太長,所以唔係成日有。白餅自帶甜味,包面佈滿麵粉,每食一口都會整到成個嘴都白晒,但係實在太好味,我自己通常會一次過食兩個而白餅一袋有7個,賣HK$26,都算抵食啊!

親人送來皮蛋酥,大大的,一個已佔了一半盒子。很奇待的一刀切下,已經失望了,因為皮都散開了!用叉拿來吃,酥皮四散,豆蓉都有子薑味,ok 啦,但個皮旦就真係唔合格,皮旦好實,又細,最後一,兩口有陣怪味,又未能跟豆蓉融合,十分分割。我問是那位置的大同,原來是元朗老店!驚訝!怎能如此?比起深水埗那間有名的皮旦酥。今天吃的太不像樣了!失望😞!

家裡大大小小老老幼幼都很喜歡食4王月餅的,久聞這是元朗老店舖,早排更有電視介紹這間老店店舖,看到當時電視播出的這家用的蛋黃是又圓又大挺吸引的,家裡人看到都叫我去買回來一齊吃,我心想太遠了吧,但最後我今年還是專程走一轉元朗去買月餅,首先舖員的態度是很一般的一般的,不過沒關係因為這是香港專有特色,我已經習慣,買回家後大家都急不及待切來吃了,一切開只看到2隻大蛋黃在,家人即刻問我店員是否拿錯了給我,我說不會吧,包裝袋上都有個4字,之後我仔細找,原來另外2個黃是超級迷你的,好像是鵪鶉蛋黃而且蛋黃不是圓的,是扁扁的被壓在底部,蛋黃都擠在底部的邊緣基本很難看得出來這隻是蛋黃,而且顏色很暗很乾很結實很難吃,不仔細看真的看不出來是蛋黃,因為都壓在餅底底部跟餅底顏色差不多,我們都直接丟掉,我們全家簇都不會再光顧,別的東西也看不得會好吃,所以對這家老店舖絕對失望

一包雞蛋糕有五件,剛剛食咗一件了,味道不太甜,雞蛋味道就非常重,咬落都好軟身,可能是剛剛買回來,所以較為新鮮

上次路經屯門站既分店,店員好心提示「老婆餅」未熱,都會問我介唔介意。但今日到元朗大同分行 明明見住老婆餅熱辣辣新鮮出爐 諗住會比個熱既黎 點知出到門口摸上手 「凍既」 ... 可能係我唔識食 鐘意熱食喇我會幫襯番 係因為好記得過往買既都係熱辣辣..、好好食.... 依家「負哂分」 好失望.... 有時一分錢 一分貨 $8/件老婆餅 ,客人錢都俾左,但食唔番「質素」 咁真係好不值囉.... 另外多買了件$21/皮蛋酥 ... 又是凍的.... 唔知味道如何... 但「凍」已經大打折扣 超失望😞

我會幫襯番 係因為好記得過往買既都係熱辣辣..、好好食.... 依家「負哂分」 好失望....


有時一分錢 一分貨 $8/件老婆餅 ,客人錢都俾左,但食唔番「質素」 咁真係好不值囉....

另外多買了件$21/皮蛋酥 ... 又是凍的....
唔知味道如何... 但「凍」已經大打折扣 超失望😞

今次買<五仁金腿月>,一盒折實價$378,平均每個$94.5,相比其他傳統月餅,老實說,佢嘅價錢算高,而會定此價格,確係夠膽量。

事實上,大同的月餅做法與一般大眾連鎖店賣的確有不同。今時今日,它的月餅依舊是在香港製造及用傳統方式。依舊是早一個月便開始加班製餅。縱然有機器幫忙倒模,搓、拍、壓、捏等包餅、甚至焗餅工序都由人手研製,某些款式依舊用人手敲模。

而賣的,是最傳統的月餅:伍仁月、豆沙月、南棗月、蓮蓉月。

當中伍仁月,是大同的招牌月餅。其實伍仁月是蓮蓉月出現之前最主流的月餅餡料,可以加糖冬瓜、冰肉做成甜月;亦可以加金腿、蠔豉、臘腸做成鹹月。

近年不少餅家復興伍仁月,於大同而言卻是做了幾十年的尋常款式。所謂伍仁,就是合桃、欖仁、杏仁、瓜子肉和芝麻,吃來清爽,帶點雞仔餅的味道,切一小件便可以慢慢嚼,吃得一口堅果香。也有加了金腿的伍仁月,亦是我今次買的,吃來又多了點點鹹香。

對於爸爸來說,覺得大同月餅,餅皮做得夠鬆化軟滑,厚薄剛好,餡料都是他以前傳統食開的,真材實料,結實有嚼口,口感非常甘香豐富,不過油不膩。

大同伍仁月餅,對很多上一輩來說,吃的是古早味道,並非時興月餅能相比的。

Whichever sob story you want to believe in, this local comfort treat hits the spot when hunger pangs draw you in to the smell and sight of golden brown pastries neatly arranged on stacked trays. Tai Tong bakery is a long established Hong Kong bakery from 1943 and can be found inside the paid areas of MTR concourses- a feat itself. Its wife cakes are one of its many specialities and feature at least 3 varieties including the classic sweet winter melon; sweet red bean paste and black sesame paste.

Having tried at least 2 different brands of fresh (not prepackaged) wife cakes, what sets Tai Tong wife cakes apart is its appearance, texture, filling and taste. Tai Tong consistently delivers on the characteristic golden brown exterior, sometimes adorned with sesame seeds which arouses any hungry passerby. The delicately soft and crumbly pastry is appealingly light on the palate, leaving little trace of the usually heavy lard or fatty aftertaste of other wife cakes which I dislike. Furthermore, it compliments the generously thick filling that other brands tend to skimp on. The filling is subtly sweetened, emphasizing the natural flavor of the key ingredient- be it winter melons or red beans. One serving is about $9.0 and will satisfy any inter meal cravings.

Recommended to tourists who want a take on Cantonese pastry.
