To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 屋企人係報紙見到陶源酒家嘅廣告,推出$998長腳蟹及乳豬套餐,於是book枱試試,預訂是已講明要留呢個套餐,當時餐廳都無講啲咩。點知當晚坐低點菜時,店員先臨時話呢日無3斤長腳蟹,最少都5、6斤起跳,但每斤要再加2百幾蚊,即係最少加5百幾蚊起。我哋表示報紙明明賣3斤,誰知店員即時勁寸咀咁話:「報紙係話包3斤,但我哋無3斤嘅蟹架,要食就要加錢,一係你就食其他囉。」但訂座時佢又唔講,就算當日無貨都應該提早打電話通知,而唔係等人坐低晒先咁樣焗人加5百幾蚊,咁樣報紙廣告豈不是有誤導消費者之嫌?雖然最後因為請客都係點咗5斤嘅蟹,但真係食到一肚火! continue reading
