千里迢迢來到,跟生蠔緣慳一面卻只能以無奈作別,與女友一番商議,為免東奔西跑,最終也選擇了在Point Pie度過一個Night Without Oyster。

將餐牌左揭右翻,我們決定點一客French Onion Soup、Beef Carpaccio with Shaved Parmesan Cheese、Crab Meat Risotto with Truffle Sauce和Parma Ham & Garlic Pasta。

頭盤Beef Carpaccio with Shaved Parmesan Cheese一上桌先打了個突,芝士賣相不規則,如果硬要為生牛肉加上一段形容的字句,只能將之比喻為“越南春卷皮的質感,牛肉味道欠奉,連同salad菜入口更是淡而無味”,再運用福爾摩斯的思維,這塊肉應該是“死在雪櫃太久。”

有生之年食過最好的French Onion Soup是在Disney World Epcot內的法國餐廳,飽滿的芝士加上軟綿綿的麵包,洋蔥已悉數溶化成湯的一部分,實在此生難忘。相比之下,此店的French Onion Soup可算是不堪入目,小得可憐的一片麵包,似有還無的芝士,全屍的洋蔥,心裡只希望這碗平淡的洋蔥水在香港的餐廳只是異數。

到了主菜的Crab Meat Risotto with Truffle Sauce,在味道上的確有蟹味,更有小塊蟹肉可供咀嚼,但整體而言實在平庸,半軟身的飯粒混在泥漿狀的白汁內,creamy程度只是比嬰兒食物好上一點點,飯面上的Truffle Sauce,為賣相點綴的角色也談不上。

其實在點菜後不久曾有一雙男女舉步入店,男的表明為生蠔而來,但一聽到沒生蠔供應隨即與女伴離開。在晚飯時段,連叩門客也是少之有少,也許,這裡只有生蠔是可取之選吧。

老板仔是一個很有魄力的八十後,對客人熱誠,對出品也有要求。今晚趁法國生𧐢買一送一,所以今次就由老闆仔介紹三款。果然不時不食,當造的法國生𧐢肥美可口,海水味和新鮮𧐢味雙得益璋。所以老婆大人連隨再來another round. 之後是少律跟湯,龍蝦湯味不咸不淡,反而洋蔥湯味淡了一點和洋蔥不夠。主菜的羊扒有一點overcooked,幸好羊味還不錯。豬扒在西餐中印象最好是波士頓餐廳的加了肉鬆粉,所以無論Drawing Room, Oyster and Wine 和這裡的豬扒都因為太厚有如嚼爉一樣。幸好餐廳現在有新的甜品補救。聽說還有新的捷克菜單登場,看來很快又要來捧場了。

My mum likes the mango salsa a lot... she said the mango was very sweet, and the most important thing is it comes with some warm toast!
Dad likes the oysters, forgot what it calls, I guess it was coffin bay.
A bit dissapointed with the Angues beef, it was a bit overcooked. It comes with some potato wedges, which was my favourite. I was too greedy to ask a bit more, and he gave me some extras. Service was well and the ambience was nice.

I dun really like the mango cheesecake, it was too sweet.. but guess what.. my mum still likes it.
I like the warm chocolate cake the most, its smell was fabulous & bonues is - it did comes with a movenpick vanilla ice-cream scoope!! the best i reckon!!

Ate here with my family on a Friday’s night. We arrived a couple minutes before closing and were still served a superb meal. I had the Mango Salsa as an appetizer and French Onion for soup. The Mango Salsa was a total knockout – highly recommended. The Angus Beef and Baby Pigeon both tasted delicious! One thing needs to mention is the Risotto that comes with the Duck Breast - fabulous. 前幾天和女友去跑馬地過平安夜,雖然冇銅鑼灣咁熱鬧,但就多左一份貴氣,同聖誕氣氛。好啦費話唔講啦,入正題啦。 首先頭盤係海鮮凍盤,d 海鮮有蠔,蜆,青口,螺,虎蝦,=.=多到Y仲以為食大盤,D 蠔好大隻同海鮮真係好鮮,真係好正。 跟住食SALAD 係煙三文魚配火雞沙律,聖誕點都要食下火雞,但做大盤就真係好漏,但作為沙律就真係剛剛好,配自家煙三文魚真係一絕。 跟住個和牛清湯,清清地都幾特別,之後到雪葩,食完之後清晒之前食野個D味,真係好好的配搭。 最後我地點左法國鵪鶉同澳洲鱸魚,先講鵪鶉,真係食手工囉,又要起骨,又要釀D蝦肉入去,真係好好食。 鱸魚就唔係我食,所以唔知咩味,但女友話幾好食。 最後仲有過法國蛋糕-,-我以經食唔到啦,所以打包返去食。第二日先食,都好好味-,- 我31號再去過,仲有幾日,宜家好期待 下次食完再寫多個食評先

前幾日,女朋友生日上網找了間有情調的餐廳慶祝。見到有間合心水的餐廳在跑馬地。所以,及時打電話去定位。當晚去到情調ok。座低后有個人招呼,介紹咗D法國、澳洲同美國的生蠔。我就不鐘意食生冷嘢,但我女朋友就非常鐘意食,所以就叫咗一打生蠔。D名就不記得咗,因為太多款式了。 最後 女朋友話法國蠔仲好食 , 唔記得左個名了 ! 但個待應話係用黎進供比皇室食用添 !我就見到一隻好像金華火腿的東西,我就問侍應系咩嘢。原來系西班牙火腿仲風乾咗36個月,之后就叫咗2個龍蝦湯。大盤就叫咗一個廚師推介的煙肉帶子卷,另一個就系黑豚豬扒。 最深記憶就係個黑豚豬扒 , 因為個待應話隻豬自細都係用綠茶同埋蕃薯既飼料 ! 好有趣 !最後,甜品叫咗一個三角形的朱古力。呢個蛋糕睇左咁多個食評都話係最好食既 ! 果然冇讚錯 ! 五層唔同既朱古力味 ! 最開心的系餐廳的廚師仲幫我準備咗蠟燭,仲用朱古力醬在碟上寫上我女朋友的名。總結:食物同服務都不錯,最驚喜就系幫我寫上Happy Birthday 的字句。

最後,甜品叫咗一個三角形的朱古力。呢個蛋糕睇左咁多個食評都話係最好食既 ! 果然冇讚錯 ! 五層唔同既朱古力味 ! 最開心的系餐廳的廚師仲幫我準備咗蠟燭,仲用朱古力醬在碟上寫上我女朋友的名。

總結:食物同服務都不錯,最驚喜就系幫我寫上Happy Birthday 的字句。

Wonderfull food!! Nice Oysters and super nice sleeping crab!!!!!!! 勁多膏!!! 仲有好正的黑毛豬同鴨腿!!! 環境唔錯, 好少人, 好靜. 聽講好多明星去食, 舒琪好鍾意食黑毛豬, 仲買外賣食tim! 因為兩個人, 食完隻蟹都好飽, 試唔到其他. 酒的選擇較少, 亦貴。但overall好正!!

I was surfing the Openrice website for a nice restaurant to take my wife for her upcoming birthday, and couldn't help but notice that this restaurant has received nothing but positive reviews since its inception. That led me to put together this write-up from my experience almost one year ago so that prospective diners are not misled by the overwhelmingly positive reviews.

First off, the Happy Valley location is inconvenient, and you are paying a markup for the area as much as you are for the food. I couldn't fault the selection of oysters, but I recall one sold for HK$120, which, even though I am admittedly not a connoiseur, is slightly too pricey.

Then there is the much raved about Australian baby lamb which has to be ordered in advance. Nothing special unfortunately - it tasted like a decent lamb should.

A plus was the fact that we had the entire dining area to ourselves that evening, and the service was excellent. However, the bill came out to HK$1,200 without wine, which is too expensive for a restaurant that is not run by a Caucasian chef or at least a Chinese chef who used to work at one of the 5 star hotels in town.

That's my two cents on this restaurant, and as good as the service is, it lacks the pizazz and amazing cooking to justify the bill. For this and this reason alone, I feel it fair to give it a failing overall grade.
