近排落雨,又唔想行太遠出去食野,於是去咗屋企附近食串燒的居酒屋。叫咗燒雞翼,鴨舌,雞皮,牛脷,安格斯牛柳,車厘茄煙肉卷,燒白鱔,燒帶子,燒豆腐,凍稻庭烏冬;D雞皮同雞翼燒得好香好脆,以為燒鴨舌無咩肉食,但都ok厚身;牛脷,牛柳,燒得好腍,車厘茄煙肉卷好Juicy;燒白鱔一D都唔腥;燒帶子諗住燒完會縮水,但都好大粒同唔韌;凍烏冬好有咬口,彈牙。平時食串燒都唔會太飽,可能食咗個烏冬有飽肚感覺。

同個朋友揸車去開跑馬地食消夜,原來係佢成日去開嘅居酒屋,佢叫咗果度出名嘅厚切牛舌,燒蠔,雞皮蝦大葉卷,羊架等等,個牛舌燒得外脆內軟,燒蠔燒得好香口,鵝肝釀雞翼😋,用黎送酒真係一流👍。同埋佢有個蔬菜碗,都幾新鮮,食完串燒再食番蔬菜無咁肥膩。

所有串燒基本上都是80分的,就牛肉方面好像差一點點,嫩但是味道稍顯淡了,可能專門吃牛的地方太多,把吃牛的這一塊舌頭的感覺都比較嚴格了。

外皮脆內 柔軟 口味也是調的剛剛好 簡直是串燒愛好者的天堂!
再加上幾杯酒落肚,真是十分愉快!

呀! 還有個烤飯團! 感覺就是高端版的粢飯糕呀!淡淡口味的,但有味道,但脆脆的,整個三角形都很金黃, 所以口空吃也很香,配上一片紙菜,別有一番風味。

最後拿了卡片,其實,跑馬地也不是很遠,而且外面還可以停車,其實很方便! 下次見!!!

幫朋友攪生日,因為壽星女同我都往跑馬地,同埋班朋友愛熱閙,所以訂了成日幫襯的南亭。係十二月中,同相熟店員訂包場,佢話要四千蚊訂同八千蚊最低消費。心諗八千蚊唔計酒水都一定過啦。當時人數二十人,我話會再加人數的,仲叫佢當日唔好接訂枱,一來朋友們想盡慶,二來想廚房可以出食物快點。到一月三號,人數加到二十八人,經理仲話免切旦羔同開瓶,當時仲想自己係熟客,點知睌飯就出事。一月六號七點,到場才知原來不是包埸,只係普通訂位,仲要的位係迫過以前。唔特止一個人都未到,已經將燒好的鷄翼上碟。佢地話從無答應包全埸,又話包埸不是這個價錢。但解釋不到點解要收四千蚊訂。好在我朋友有修養無同佢嘈,但因為地方太少,強行加插的坐位太迫,變成整晩都要企係度食。又因為廚房出食物慢,有成三次食煙時間。鷄翼無味,蘆荀煙肉卷同鵝肝又老。服務更加差,換碟慢,表現不耐煩,大佬張單成兩萬幾,多謝都無聲,老麥都好招呼過你。又食唔飽,又坐得唔舒服。好在壽星女無詐我形。不過以後無咗我地呢班會存酒,過年派利是的熟客同整臭你老闆個朶了。

南亭的食物質素一向有保證,尤以燒牛舌及雞中翼最佳。但食物價錢較高,難以經常光顧;但如果不怕夜,轉戰夜宵時段,便划算很多。走經附近想找個有情調的地方歇腳,不妨到來一試。

食串燒其實最主要都係食個廚師既燒功同醃功。正因為食咁多熱氣同濃味既燒物,一間成功既串燒店應該提供多款解喝既飲品。真係幾可惜,佢既涷飲種類唔夠多之餘,開瓶費更高達$300/枝,酒店都好似冇咁誇囉

散叫佢特式串燒就ok,不過想慳少少叫個set黎食就出哂事,因為用料唔夠新鮮,連調味料都唔捨得落。叫set時重要同一時間全部上哂,張枱冇位放之餘,哥哥姐姐仔重要企喺到等d客自己整理,咁你點收得加一服務費呀?
 小弟勸喻大家最好唔好黎食午餐或者晚餐,要黎試都係happy hour 同宵夜黎食我推介嗰幾味,因為真係唔係好飽肚,同埋唔係好值得囉。

We love the crudites served always before food arrives (cucmber,carrot,celery and big pieces of cabagge) to dip in their special miso based sauce

i strongly suggest to reserve and ask for a table in the back,many people like to seat in front of the grill,we prefer one of the tables on the back as they are quiet.

My friend and I was hoping for another fun night of yakitori, but we did not even get to the food part with this restaurant. I made a reservation for 8:30pm, they made us wait (albeit politely) for 25 minutes before we stormed out to find another restaurant. What kind of restaurant makes you want close to half an hour despite a reservation. No tea, no service, no explanation, we just stood in the way while they hustled around us. Although I have no idea how the food is, I will not be frequenting

We ordered some eggplant (grilled with thick, mildly sweet sauce, no bonito flakes though), chicken wings (nothing special), new zealand beef (juicy, no chewy tendon bits), white eel (relatively small slices, not too fatty, but still quite succulent with an almost elastic texture to it), black cod (very nice), pork neck (OK), tofu (one piece was slightly overdone and had shrivelled up, but otherwise it was decent, not spectacular though), We had a vegetable udon and a beef udon, each bowl was a good portion for 1 person, with a clear flavourful broth and noodles cooked to just the right al dente texture. In addition, the grilled rice cakes warrant a special mention, it comes in 4 flavours (plum, salmon, eel, bonito flakes) and you get to wrap it up in seaweed yourself. The rice was grilled to a nice chewy/crunchy outside and still moist inside, the whole thing sticking together without being dense.

After a couple of prompts the waitress came over to refill our tea regularly. Plates were changed a couple of times, but what slightly bothered me was that the staff insisted on placing the skewers on your plate rather than leaving them on the serving plate, as sometimes we wanted to share the skewers amongst ourselves, or our own plate was already piled up high with food.

Out of the 3, I'll go to any one of them as they are all quite good, but none outstanding enough to tip the balance in their favour.

其實呢個菜式係有一個好特別既Chemistry;外面包住既係香軟既煙肉流住肉汁,而車厘茄裹面既汁就已經燒至高溫,當你大淡一口咬落去就立即會將口燙致半熟,但香濃既肉汁會好快將你麻木左既味雷喚醒,引至你又想立即咬落去品嘗一下他們的真正味道,給你無限既挑戰同引誘。

而呢道菜係兩間唔同既店裹就有好唔同既演譯方法,于蘭桂芳既店佢為左唔好椒親客人既咀就刻意將車厘茄放涼,而只燒熱煙肉,而跑馬地呢間就會用比較淡既煙肉,使到客人可以吃到藩茄汁既酸味。其實兩者都表演到廚師既細心,同客人服務既體貼,並真正體現到”Small thing make big difference” 理念。

而佢地既銀雪魚同牛利都係一絕,燒魚外脆內軟,而他們的signature product 燒牛俐連我個唔食內臟既外國朋友都話唔唸係嘛野,就係超好味既野食,我地同時亦試左燒飯團同湯烏冬,水準都十分高,雖然上菜比較耐,但係Follow up 既服務都做得好快好足。

我相信呢D小店他們的出品必定有其出色之處,否則係咁貴既食物材料價格下,同咁貴租金下又怎可以生存呢? 跑馬地呢個地方造就左好多廚師,給機會去尋覓他們的目標,而對我們食客就好似去到唔同既Gallery 去體驗唔同既藝術作品。

晚飯後我地一班朋友慢慢悠閒地行去電車站,可能因為馬場既草地令空氣變得特別清新,而晚上既電車就並唔多人,而能係呢架慢吞吞既交通工具上同你既好朋友或者情人一齊回味一下呢餐美味既晚餐都算係一件好有情趣既事。

They have Supper menu too, i just realized that after I ordered the food.
The supper Menu is sooooo thoughtful starting from 11 30 to 1 30 am.
so you can Grap something really tasty when you are hungry in the middle of the nite.

and won't feel guilty eating at late after you get up!! That's the best of Yakitori.

You can order one skewer of each kind if you go alone. THat is so thoughtful too !! i m so touched..

This shop is certainly way better than Yakitoritei 焼鳥亭 in Tin Hau by far, which is why I did not bother to eat at the 焼鳥亭 also in Happy Valley.
First of all - I was surprised that in fact, Nanbantei isn't that expensive. In fact it is cheaper than its late imitation rival 焼鳥亭. The large 660ml Asahi here is only $50/bottle. Over there its $65 (although they have buy 2 get one free promotion now). Or rice is only $8.0 here, but $12.0 over here. Most of the Skewers here are also slightly cheaper.
The FOOD is also much better here, although not without flaws:

GOOD:
- Cold Salad with Miso based dip - very good taste. Way better than the salty but uninspiring version at 焼鳥亭
- Beef Fillet - tender
- Chicken mince in Shiitake Mushroom - very good
- Cheese Mochi - very nicely done, wrapped in seaweed
- Unagi - great. slightly crispy skin, yet retaining its gelatinous state meat. Perfectly done.
- Plain Unagi (white unagi) - very good as well. Perfectly done, sweet. Best I've tried so far in HK. Under seasoned but its original taste was intact.
AVERAGE:
- Beef Tongue - too chewy, too much garlic powder. However flavour was not bad.
- Foie Gras Chicken Wing - wing nicely crisped on outside and still moist inside. Unfortunately the so called Foie Gras has little taste and was way over-cooked inside.
BAD:
- Chicken Yakitori with Negi (Negima) - Chicken had little taste and 1 piece has gone off/bad. However sauce is better than 焼鳥亭.

I will recommend here definitely, even though it has its flaws. Another good option is 醉燒亭 (Fortress Hill/Northpoint), which also serves great food (after they've now opened for 3 months and stabilised finally). Both here and 醉燒亭 have slightly better or worst skewers - although the seasoning method is slightly different. 醉燒亭 has more fine salt and pepper mix scattered on the sticks whereas here, its slightly under-seasoned but sometimes has more garlicky taste.
In fact I was surprised that this Nanbantei was slightly toned down from the Tokyo/Japanese version - probably to suit HK palates more as we drink and smoke less! But I'm sure you can ask the chef to adjust it to your liking, such as at 醉燒亭.
