Star Street has been my favourite precinct in Hong Kong. It is an emerging neighbourhood which mixes funky dining and eclectic shopping with a relaxed vibe. The street art that pops up from time to time is definitely not to miss too.Maison ES is a French fine dining restaurant located on Star Street. Its artsy entrance got my heart immediately with the cute bike, as well as the fresh flowers. Yes! Real and fresh flowers, which gave out a nice floral scent to welcome you into the restaurant! How nice is that?The posh interior design is definitely very lovely, with real flowers here and there touching up environment and atmosphere.The bread basket was gorgeous. The round buns were like fluffy scones, which were so enjoyable on their own! The butter just made them even better.First main we ordered is this Wagyu A5 Beef Cutlet with Onsen Egg. We were told that we could break the onsen egg, mix it with the sauce and add it to the beef cutlet as a dressing. However, we found the beef cutlet so delicious that we left the onsen egg alone. We opted for medium well for the beef cutlet, even though it’s more like medium rare, it was so yummy. The crunchy skin wrapping the juicy and tender A5 beef inside. Nom nom nom. There was a piece of rice hidden underneath the fried garlic chips. What a surprise!Another main we ordered is this Lamb Shank. Not a big fan of veggies, but the cabbage underneath was marinated with heavy cream (?), which made the grilled greens so much more enjoyable! I actually went for the greens before the lamb! As for the lamb, it was comparatively less astonishing than the beef cutlet. It’s tender and flavoured, yet it didn’t quite taste like lamb in texture.We didn’t order any starter, but we ordered two awesome sides. On the top left corner is Cauliflower Tempura with spicy mayo. It was delicious when I had it fresh hot. And we somehow found it even more delicious when it was cooled a bit. We wondered why, as tempura usually tastes best when it’s fresh hot.Another side is on the bottom right corner - Garlic Frites. There was deep fried garlic sprinkled on top of the fries, and also the mayo! I have never thought that garlic could make the fries taste even better than they already are! 週日一家人到康怡參加燈籠 Workshop 後,爸爸與哥哥要去練鼓,媽媽則帶同妹妹,重訪美美的金鐘星街 Maison ES 嘆下午茶,因為另一位的親愛的日本友人也訪港啦~ 充滿法式風情的小餐館與法式設計珠寶品牌 Didier Dubot 合作,推出了以電影 “Midnight in Paris” 爲設計靈感的 "The Raining Paris" Afternoon Tea ($350位/$688兩位),自然成了我們目標! 下午茶先有兩杯 Charles de Fere, Réserve Rosé Dry 當 Welcome Drink, 讓人一來就沉醉在美好的粉紅氣泡中;妹妹就清純的喝著果汁,不久後其他食物及飲品也上檯了~ 下午茶另外包括自選咖啡/茶,友人選的 Grand Earl Grey 是我的心水最愛,不過喝了多次,這天換成 Rose Latte (+$18),成品十分漂亮,味道香醇細緻、芳香討好,會推介給啡迷的~ 食物方面有四款鹹點、四款甜點,加上 Rose Petal & Plain Scones 各二。其中鬆餅份量不小,以平日胃口不可能吃完,但這裡的鬆餅十分香脆又富牛油香,配上 Maison ES 玫瑰果醬及濃縮忌廉,太好了,結果很難得全部4件都吃光! 先介紹鹹點,首先是 Purple Potato Frites served with Mayo,外脆內軟糯、香口微甜不油的紫薯條,配上蛋黃醬,理所當然成為 Chloe 最愛,看妹妹的表情就知她有多喜歡這組合! 接著 Smoked Salmon Gougère 煙熏三文魚法式芝士球、Jam Bun & Camembert Crepe 果醬包卡蒙伯爾芝士薄煎餅,以及杯裝的 Foie Gras Mousse & Cassis Cup 鵝肝慕斯黑醋栗杯,都很好吃兼有著濃濃法式風情,邊吃邊喝下玫瑰氣酒,感覺曼妙。 甜點則有 Lavender & Dark Chocolate Mille Feuille 薰衣草黑巧克力法式千層酥、Pink Frosted Earl Grey Madeleine 粉紅色糖霜馬德蓮貝殼蛋糕、Sesame Macaroon with Strawberry Ganache Creme 黑芝麻草莓甘納許奶油馬卡龍,以及 Oreo & Coconut Tart 奧利奧椰子餡餅,全部都輕甜不膩,配上帶玫瑰香的 Rose Latte 十分完美。 凡享用此下午茶的客人,均可獲贈 DIDIER DUBOT Mon Paris 手鏈一條,絕對值回票價!然而禮品數量有限,送完即止,所以想吃最好趁早啊~ continue reading

灣仔這個地方,一直都覺得還有很多地方可以去看看。這個地方可說是每一次找吃的都會找到驚喜。今次相約好友們到Maison ES相聚,在相約時間到以前,我由金鐘一直慢慢的走,穿過金鐘美輪美奐的商業大樓,走到看上去舊一點,但其實看上去很有味道的灣仔。Maison ES位於灣仔星街,走到餐廳還有一段距離。我就決定放慢腳步好好欣賞一下這個可愛的地方。沿路行上去的時候,發現這邊跟平日我們在灣仔見到的景色有所不同,但總是有種說不出來的融洽。走著走著,從遠處見到這邊的「山頂」位置有一輛好像有點歐陸風格的單車,相信我沒找錯地方了吧。 Maison ES門外就像一家法式大宅一樣,讓我很想在這邊過一天悠閒的時光。突然就有種想在這大門外野餐的感覺 (就讓我FF一下吧)。 餐廳入面也蠻大的,位子闊落,確實是不錯的談心地方,相約三五知己,摸住酒杯底談天說地就最好不過了。在等待食物的時候,我忍不住上網搜尋跟這家餐廳相關的資料。原來餐廳主打「家的感覺」,每一道菜式都像是為家人炮製的窩心料理,每一道菜式均以經典的家常菜餚作為靈感。話說創辦人在讀書時期在洛杉磯住過,所以她所構思的菜式,都是以洛杉磯的美食作為藍本,再加入不同創意元素而製成的。 先來吃吃麵包,新鮮烘焙的麵包真的不錯,軟棉棉又暖呼呼,加入牛油及點點海鹽,讓麵包的味道更為豐富。剛溶化的牛油就讓麵包更顯香氣。 北海道帶子刺身伴海膽脆米青瓜及紅薑啫喱 ($198) 靚的北海道帶子刺身鮮甜可口,是為味覺之享受。再者,餐廳這邊配合海膽、紫蘇、青瓜,不但配搭得宜,賣相及味道都更為豐富,更為誘人。不得不提的是這前菜上還有紅薑啫喱,廚師更將壽司飯風乾,然後將之炸成脆米,層次豐富。 48個月西班牙Bellota火腿伴特製香濃蜜瓜西米及炸豬皮 ($188) 這個食法也蠻新穎的,以西班牙Bellota火腿配蜜瓜。這個小杯內有兩款瓜,分別是縐皮瓜及蜜瓜,令其顏色更為豐富。廚師從縐皮瓜及蜜瓜上刮出一粒粒蜜瓜肉,再用蜜瓜汁浸泡及抽真空處理,瓜肉把肉汁精華的精華全都吸收掉,令蜜瓜粒變得十分香甜。此外,這道菜還伴以西米、炸豬皮及西班牙Bellota火腿。炸豬皮香脆可口,火腿鹹香至極。侍應在小杯之中更加入特製的透明蜜瓜汁,令整道菜式增添香甜氣息。 慢煮日本黑鮑魚配車厘茄珍珠麵及鮑肝醬 ($380) 主菜方面,其中一道菜是來自日本的黑鮑魚。這個黑鮑魚並不簡單,侍應介紹說廚師用上昆布包裹鮑魚以後慢煮,然後拆肉香烤,肉質既香且嫩,還不失其應有的鮑魚鮮味。鮑魚底下伴有以車厘茄及珍珠麵特製而成的醬汁,珍珠麵略帶煙韌口感,把酸酸甜甜的車厘茄混合著珍珠麵,口感比起相類似的莎莎醬更為豐富及特別。 此外,黑鮑魚的肝也被用在這道菜之中,廚師加入味醂、豉油,跟黑鮑魚肝打成醬,味道相當濃郁,且更能特顯鮑魚的鮮甜味道,讓人愛不釋口。 日本A3和牛西冷伴燒飯糰蘸鰻魚汁溫泉蛋 ($480) 這個日本A3和牛西冷不得了。和牛經過燒烤切成粒狀,而且因經過燒烤所以和牛西冷的外層略為金黃色,賣相不俗。烤至大概五成熟,令肉味及油香更為突出。沾上旁邊的鰻魚汁的溫泉蛋汁,讓牛肉食落多一份甜及香,感覺更為細膩,味道更為豐富。至於在碟上類似鍋巴的食物,是廚師所說的燒飯糰,它更像一塊烘過的飯,加入蒜片、新鮮山葵及鰻魚汁溫泉蛋一併食用,味道更為特別。 黑芝麻布丁伴北海道紅豆茸、白芝麻湯丸及花奶雪糕 ($98) 這個嘛,是不錯的中西合壁表達方式。以黑芝麻布丁放上北海道紅豆茸,兩者的味道恰到好處,沒有太強也沒有過份霸道。至於雪糕嘛,這邊用上的是店方自家製的花奶雪糕,香甜而不膩,花奶的味道淡淡的,配合上黑芝麻布丁就剛剛好。碟邊的小煎堆本來是湯丸來的,鋪滿白芝麻之後再炸香而製成的。整道甜品食落去很特別,十分討好的。提起這份甜品,讓我又想多吃一次了。 這是另一道以花奶雪糕作為主角的甜品,雪糕下的是熱情果布甸,還有最上以Nuts製成的餅乾小食。整體賣相超精緻的,加上顏色的連貫性,讓整道甜品看上去很柔和的。酸酸甜甜的熱情果布甸加入淡淡的花奶雪糕,入口感覺相當清新,沖擊著外面炎夏的天氣。至於Nuts餅乾小食,帶有點點的甜,也帶有點點鹹香,這個感覺點點的佈滿在味蕾上,除之而來的感覺,就好像為整頓晚餐畫上一個完美的句號一樣,滿足了。 continue reading

難得有一日可以同男朋友一齊放假,所以晚餐就食得浪漫啲啦!黎到不久之前都食過既 Maison Es,裝修依然華麗,卡片,餐牌,同餐具,每個細節都係呢到老闆娘精心挑選既。今次冇選擇餐廳既 tasting menu,只係點咗幾份 a la carte;先來一盤熱辣辣既麵包籃。頭盤來一份超級新鮮既慢煮龍蝦肉配柚子,三文魚籽,炸蒜片;然後有我一向都好鍾意既牛肉他他。選用鹿兒島牛,撈埋有機生雞蛋,海膽,紫蘇葉,白果粒;米餅亦好脆身!主菜方面,我哋點上期待已久既吉列A3和牛。外皮炸得非常脆,而且和牛保持 medium rare,再沾上溫泉蛋同蒲焼汁,食落又甜又香。旁邊亦有配上燒飯糰,好豐富呀!另外仲有一份冬季推介既「荷葉蟹粉義大利飯」。蒸飯帶著荷葉香氣,蟹膏味道非常特出,好特別既 crossover。最後,係以焗蕃薯為主題既甜品碟。有燒過既麻薯,清新既自家製白桃雪芭,不錯既配搭! continue reading
