I enjoy the flat white from Le Pain de Quotidien. But it was very disappointing when we went to try out their breakfast. I ordered The Angler which included a croissant, some bread, a soft-boiled egg, smoked salmon, rustic tuna, herbs farmer cheese and granola parfait.The croissant was not exciting, in fact it did not taste freshly baked despite it was only about 10am. The soft-boiled egg was awful; it looked and tasted below Par and it was difficult to remove the shell. I can easily make better

The croissant was not exciting, in fact it did not taste freshly baked despite it was only about 10am. The soft-boiled egg was awful; it looked and tasted below Par and it was difficult to remove the shell. I can easily make better ones at home. The smoked salmon and rustic tuna were ok but the portions were small. The cheese was bleah and the granola, again, I can have better ones just from the box at home.

For $155,I can go to quite a few other places and get a much better quality breakfast. Not recommended, at least not the $155 sets but would recommend their flat whites.

I started things off with a glass of iced Belgian chocolate which could have been a little richer in flavor. Don't think anybody could come close to beating Angelina's signature hot and iced chocolate. It's a shame that their business wasn't sustainable in Hong Kong.

位於圓方商場內的Three Sixty超級市場部份區域關閉了一份子,美其名是內部重新裝修,說穿了其實是宿減規模。原先位於超級市場內的數間輕食店都消失了,想在圓方找一間百元樓下價位的食店好像漸變得不太可能,且看位於商場最底層提供平民快餐的大快活還可以營運多久。超市縮減了區域後騰出來的空間,重新規劃後變成新的舖位, La Pain Quotidien 便在這裡正式落户,開了香港區的第三間分店。食店在比利時起家。雖然位於亞洲區的分店不多,但在全球已經擁有二百多間分店,已算是一個國際品牌。以木製品為主調,裝修走的是休閒咖啡室的風格,中間一張大木枱供客人分享共座。座位間的空間寬廣,用餐環境舒適。木桌子上擺上新鮮的鮮花,為用餐環境添上生氣。除了鮮花,桌子上還放上數款不同的果醬,供客人隨便共享使用。看真點,果醬全都是有機產品,感覺高檔健康。雖為比利時品牌,但食店以提供簡單有機食物菜式為主打,跟比利時菜其實並無關係。由於是吃有機食物,可以想像到菜式的價錢一定不會是親民類別,只吃輕食動輒也要花上百元以上。菜單以麵包、蛋及蔬菜沙律為主導,部份菜式會添加三文魚及雞肉,都是健康輕盈之選。既然鼓吹健康,果汁自然

點了兩道菜及兩道飲品。食物上桌時伴來兩片麵包。究竟麵包是免費奉上的餐前麵包,抑或是伴點選食物同上的食物之一?不得而知。不過桌上既然放上大大瓶的麵包醬,肯恩也樂於見到新鮮麵包,可以與麵包醬一同享用。

麵包都是用上天然酵母菌發酵製造,少鹽少油。口感雖然較為乾身,但甚富小麥香氣,味道回歸基本自然。

麵包醬都是食店自家品牌,全部有機製作。一口氣試了兩款果占醬及一款朱古力醬後,發覺果占醬配搭麵包味道較佳,微濕的果占醬正好潤飾了麵包的乾涸感。果占醬的甜味清新自然,甚富果香,大片大片地塗在麵包塊上去吃也好像不覺罪疚感。

有機與無機,只反映到食物是否會對身體較為"有益"。食物的味道,還得依靠厨師得宜的食材配搭與調味表現出來。

以湯碗盛着咖啡去喝有點不太習慣,肯恩需要慢慢適應手持湯碗帶來的燙熱感。Flat white做得不錯,香味醇厚,crema質感實在。細size的份量亦已很大杯,有機咖啡的價錢反而跟坊間普通咖啡分別不大。

食店也有售賣有機雜貨。原先以為放在食桌上隨食客取用的有機果占會很貴,但發覺原來自家品牌的製成品價錢卻很相宜。二話不説立即買了一瓶回家。

以有機健康食物為賣點,食店菜式價錢相應較貴。不過圓方商場附近豪宅林立,對飲食健康有追求的高消費客群也有不少,應能吸引一批特定的顧客捧場支持。
