Nice dish, the flavour was certainly there, they had the sauce locked down! It was nice to be topped off with a piece of garlic bread too. There was enough sauce to go around all the pasta, and the pasta was also cooked well through. Unfortunately though portion size was tiny compared with other restaurants and they still charge around the same size, so was still hungry after the meal. Staff seem unwilling to help out with anything that is not the usual order. continue reading

在九個月前開始大家都在沒有選擇的情況下常常吃放題,加上最近病毒襲港,其實也沒有影響大家外出覓食的意願,起碼自己有得揀。上環區西餐林立,想尋找一間坐得舒服的也不是十分容易。剛好要到阿辣妹爸爸的住所一趟,所以選擇了在附近覓食,剛好這餐廳的午餐正在推廣,所以也算是冒險來試試。在港島區的西餐廳來說,以這價錢的午餐有這樣中常的出品真的是買少見少。菜式不逐一說明,因為食材味道都是新鮮到位,只能說能改良的會是那Baby back rib, 它是那種用水煮熟到離骨,再之後加上燒烤顏色和醬汁的那種,由於烹煮時間太長,所以肉質真的是太淋了。比較有驚喜的會是那個素食辣味pasta, risotto 和烤雞,比想像中的味道和質感更加分。另外薯條是中粗度炸得香脆,合個人口味。阿辣妹死肥仔和叉燒妹都表示十分滿意,所以午餐後我們決定多留一會試埋佢哋嘅happy hour (小食)。雖然忘記了拍照,不過我們選了兩款小食中,poutine 的薯條只有芝士和肉醬,欠缺gravy 不是最完美。整體來說是一間大空間的西餐,由於午餐時段只有兩台客(包括我們),所以服務員方面只有一個不過已非常足夠。午餐選擇滿多的,能滿足吃肉吃素吃澱粉質的朋友,能形容為一間多功能餐廳,路線有點像Dan 記方向。有機會也會再encore。 continue reading

一日無端走到西環,老伴知道小的喜愛地道小店,特意帶小的到西環街市的皇后街熟食市場尋食去。這個皇后街市小的曾經與一群友好來過吃海鮮,味道不算突出。也許是因為當時心情影響。故說酒逢知己千杯少,要遇上一班真正的好友,大家放開懷抱地盡情吃喝,這才夠過癮盡興。及後小的也有留心皇后街市,在網路上發現她們有一家星級的西餐廳。大廚曾在米芝蓮食府工作,卻希望把精美的製作廣傳民間,故選在熟食市場經營開業。雖然價目不達星級酒店,然而說來也不是便宜。這趟本想趁中午時段小試牛刀,不過未知是否仍處新春檔期,皇后熟食市場的午市就只有一家餃子店營業。於是咱們懷著失望的心情離開。老伴飢腸轆轆,當然不能走遠。就在對街巷尾看見一家地道潮洲食店,小的本想一闖。老伴卻即時阻止,原來他曾與同事吃過晚膳,那兒的價目絕對是驚為天人地宰羊牯。結果,二人走到彎角的另一邊,進入一家酒吧西餐廳去。KonFusion Restaurant & Bar以紅色的外牆設計,由於日間陽光猛烈,在外明內暗的對比下咱們完全瞧不清餐廳內的狀況。及至啓門直進,始發現店內幾乎空無一人,心中有點中伏之疑。幸好瀏覽餐牌,發現她們的價目亦不算好貴,大概是百元開外。老伴揀了個早晨全餐,小的卻好想試試比薩。問一問一向不愛比薩的老伴意見,得到批准,小的始敢下單。午市套餐附送飲品,凍檸茶與熱檸茶沒有甚麼特別,卻為渴水的小的提供多點滋潤。早晨全餐有兩隻太陽蛋、兩條豬肉腸、半顆蕃茄、一砵茄汁豆、幾片煙肉、一束雜菌與三片薯角。這就是包羅萬有的早晨全餐。某些高檔尊貴一點的出品會多加少許的煙三文魚,不過這兒卻沒有供應。全日早餐其實來來去去都是差不多的貨色,雞蛋弄得夠太陽,蛋黃仍有蛋漿流出,這已乎合小的之要求。至於其餘的食材如香腸、煙肉、茄汁豆其實都是預製食品,只須落油煎煮或入鍋加熱,出菜也不會錯得到那裡去。而這些不健康的預製食品卻是老伴至愛的美食。不過這兒的煙肉雖不是加拿大厚身肉種,卻未至於是又乾又硬的薄身肥肉,在滾油煎過後仍保留稍稍的脆軟,相對而言也屬比較優質。及至比薩出場是意想不到的驚喜!比薩餅底脆薄,是小的喜歡的品種。而且麵粉皮底鬆脆,開胃兼好入口。至於上面鋪著的餸菜則是甚具創意,比薩材料除了肉腸、茄醬,中間居然有隻半生熟的雞蛋。而這隻生雞蛋卻是神來之筆地中和了比薩乾脆的質感,使之在鬆脆之餘仍見濕潤。另外那些青紅椒與水欖則帶來豐富的田園氣息,與肉腸的香辣惹味相融和,所有食材配合得天衣無縫。這一道菜式連不好比薩的老伴也要讚不絕口,小的便不在話下了。問問侍應取辣椒仔、黑椒與芝士粉。後者是新鮮磨出來的芝士絲,比大工場製造出來騷氣甚濃的芝士粉不能同語。埋單連加一$250左右,人均消費百多,卻是物有所值。 continue reading

我本身好鐘意食Fish & chips, 去到任何地方一見到餐牌有就唔會諗叫其他嘢。咁啱公司又喺附近,開咗一段時間都未試過,睇完食評原本對呢間餐廳嘅食物質素好有期望,但條魚一上枱,個心即刻諗“咁燶嘅”我已食慾大減,而且薯條都好多油喺碟底添。提外話,本身喺英國時已經成日去食 Fish & chips, 但呢度魚嘅脆皮有別於一般英式炸魚薯條,個脆皮好硬好實。但食評個個都話好,都唔知係咪我唔好彩當日水準強差人意,未如理想。 continue reading
