一日無端走到西環,老伴知道小的喜愛地道小店,特意帶小的到西環街市的皇后街熟食市場尋食去。這個皇后街市小的曾經與一群友好來過吃海鮮,味道不算突出。也許是因為當時心情影響。故說酒逢知己千杯少,要遇上一班真正的好友,大家放開懷抱地盡情吃喝,這才夠過癮盡興。及後小的也有留心皇后街市,在網路上發現她們有一家星級的西餐廳。大廚曾在米芝蓮食府工作,卻希望把精美的製作廣傳民間,故選在熟食市場經營開業。雖然價目不達星級酒店,然而說來也不是便宜。這趟本想趁中午時段小試牛刀,不過未知是否仍處新春檔期,皇后熟食市場的午市就只有一家餃子店營業。於是咱們懷著失望的心情離開。老伴飢腸轆轆,當然不能走遠。就在對街巷尾看見一家地道潮洲食店,小的本想一闖。老伴卻即時阻止,原來他曾與同事吃過晚膳,那兒的價目絕對是驚為天人地宰羊牯。結果,二人走到彎角的另一邊,進入一家酒吧西餐廳去。KonFusion Restaurant & Bar以紅色的外牆設計,由於日間陽光猛烈,在外明內暗的對比下咱們完全瞧不清餐廳內的狀況。及至啓門直進,始發現店內幾乎空無一人,心中有點中伏之疑。幸好瀏覽餐牌,發現她們的價目亦不算好貴,大概是百元開外。老伴揀了個早晨全餐,小的卻好想試試比薩。問一問一向不愛比薩的老伴意見,得到批准,小的始敢下單。午市套餐附送飲品,凍檸茶與熱檸茶沒有甚麼特別,卻為渴水的小的提供多點滋潤。早晨全餐有兩隻太陽蛋、兩條豬肉腸、半顆蕃茄、一砵茄汁豆、幾片煙肉、一束雜菌與三片薯角。這就是包羅萬有的早晨全餐。某些高檔尊貴一點的出品會多加少許的煙三文魚,不過這兒卻沒有供應。全日早餐其實來來去去都是差不多的貨色,雞蛋弄得夠太陽,蛋黃仍有蛋漿流出,這已乎合小的之要求。至於其餘的食材如香腸、煙肉、茄汁豆其實都是預製食品,只須落油煎煮或入鍋加熱,出菜也不會錯得到那裡去。而這些不健康的預製食品卻是老伴至愛的美食。不過這兒的煙肉雖不是加拿大厚身肉種,卻未至於是又乾又硬的薄身肥肉,在滾油煎過後仍保留稍稍的脆軟,相對而言也屬比較優質。及至比薩出場是意想不到的驚喜!比薩餅底脆薄,是小的喜歡的品種。而且麵粉皮底鬆脆,開胃兼好入口。至於上面鋪著的餸菜則是甚具創意,比薩材料除了肉腸、茄醬,中間居然有隻半生熟的雞蛋。而這隻生雞蛋卻是神來之筆地中和了比薩乾脆的質感,使之在鬆脆之餘仍見濕潤。另外那些青紅椒與水欖則帶來豐富的田園氣息,與肉腸的香辣惹味相融和,所有食材配合得天衣無縫。這一道菜式連不好比薩的老伴也要讚不絕口,小的便不在話下了。問問侍應取辣椒仔、黑椒與芝士粉。後者是新鮮磨出來的芝士絲,比大工場製造出來騷氣甚濃的芝士粉不能同語。埋單連加一$250左右,人均消費百多,卻是物有所值。 continue reading

我本身好鐘意食Fish & chips, 去到任何地方一見到餐牌有就唔會諗叫其他嘢。咁啱公司又喺附近,開咗一段時間都未試過,睇完食評原本對呢間餐廳嘅食物質素好有期望,但條魚一上枱,個心即刻諗“咁燶嘅”我已食慾大減,而且薯條都好多油喺碟底添。提外話,本身喺英國時已經成日去食 Fish & chips, 但呢度魚嘅脆皮有別於一般英式炸魚薯條,個脆皮好硬好實。但食評個個都話好,都唔知係咪我唔好彩當日水準強差人意,未如理想。 continue reading

呢間酒吧算係幾新, 大約有一年多, 好多時都有啲外國人喺門口飲啤酒, 外牆紅色, 非常顯眼。 喺門口見到佢有happy hour小食, 就入去試下。Happy Hour酒精類都幾抵飲, housewine一杯都只係$38, 比起Soho區平, 小食分別叫咗三款, 炸魷魚圈, 芝士焗薯條和雞肉串燒, 全部賣相都一般般。 魷魚圈望落個樣一啲都唔吸引, 食落同佢嘅賣相一樣, 非常普通, 外皮唔脆, 魷魚圈好幼。 焗薯條焗得太耐, 啲薯條邊都黑曬, 望落好淋, 食落都真係好淋, 薯條一啲都唔脆 雞肉串燒冇特別。 continue reading

I wasn't sure what to expect at Konfusion but judging by the menu, it had a lot of offer.There were lots of Southern inspired dishes like grits and then you had some Mexican fusion there as well.Started with the paneer poppers which was interesting as they chose Indian cheese.The texture and taste was quite good and it didn't need the weird sweet dip.Next was the prawns on grits.I ordered it because I haven't had grits in a while and it was mixed with evilicious cheese.The chocolate cinammon milkshake was really comforting as it tasted like horchata but with a hint of chocolate.Regretted not getting the snack platter though as it had Louisana Wing and Jack  Daniel wings.Dessert ended badly because it was cloyingly sweet and the caramel icecream didn't look like caramel icecream. continue reading
