香港「四大奇食」,經歷今日終於成功光顧中環「九記牛腩」之後,總算是大功告成,試食完四大奇食食店。不過回頭想起,「四大奇食」之所以被稱為「四大奇食」,果然名不虛傳。奇食味道反而是其次,真正奇的是「四大奇食」異於常人的服務態度。不是嗎?「四大奇食」其中有兩間,都是逢星期日休息的。以現在香港旅遊業的景氣,現在還有食店「任性」得不以顧客感受為依歸,在遊客食客黃金消費時間堅持休息,就算要遊客望門興嘆,也要在不適當時間休息的食店,還不是「四大奇食」嗎?我是講真的,我第一次去拜會「九記牛腩」,就是忘記了「九記牛腩」跟「星座冰室」一樣,都是逢星期日休息,結果我千辛萬苦看地圖找到「九記牛腩」,第一次光顧就摸門釘告終,我可以不神傷嗎?第二日,我再拜訪「九記牛腩」,「九記牛腩」固然已經開門營業,但「九記牛腩」竟然跟「澳洲牛奶公司」一樣,一樣有條長長的人龍,要苦等一段時間才能入座。所以我最擔心的事情可能又會出現,我不最怕食物售罄,而是怕侍應的服務態度。以防萬一,我要好像光顧「澳牛」一樣,事先想好自己想吃的食物,到入座就儘快點菜,避免任何不愉快的事情發生。幾經辛苦,終於等到有座位可以入座,即使要搭檯都已經在我預計範圍,問題都不算特別大。不過「九記牛腩」是老字號名店,想不到舖位面積,沒有想像般龐大,地下樓面面積只有「澳牛」的一半左右。現實中的「九記牛腩」,比想像中少了一股歷史名店的風範和氣勢,儘管進入「九記牛腩」大門口,就望到鵝蛋那麼大字體的「九記」門牌掛在餐廳入口處。但是,說實話「九記牛腩」內坐滿客人,受歡迎程度絕對不遜於「澳牛」。情況跟「澳牛」一樣,「九記牛腩」的座位由店內職員決定,食客沒有權利選擇搭不搭檯。只是「九記牛腩」的侍應脾氣不像「澳牛」大佬般「名聞遐邇」,只要你不做太「白目」的事情,例如問他們有沒有「雲吞麵」賣,「九記牛腩」侍應一般都會以正常服務態度招呼你。「九記牛腩」職員似乎對食客拍照,都會以平常心態處理,沒有太大意外或阻撓。餐牌是我在店外等位時拍攝的,「九記牛腩」的店員都沒有太大反應。對我來說,食雲吞的話一定要撈粗麵,食牛腩的話,就非配河粉不可。所以食「九記牛腩」,叫「牛腩河」是我的指定動作,沒其他事可以改變我的睇法。「九記牛腩」的牛腩河,真的放了很多蔥花在裡面,蔥花這東西不是人人都能承受得了。有人食中式粉麵,指定動作非要剔除蔥花不可,但對我來說,蔥花落不落沒所謂,落的話多多益善。「九記牛腩」的河粉韌性頗高的,即使河粉被上湯浸了一段時間,我用筷子把河粉夾起,河粉也不會隨便斷掉墮下,是我對「牛腩河」比較欣賞的地方。至於「九記」的牛腩,無疑是很有牛的味道,牛腩表面口感也很滑,一開始用牙撕開牛腩肉,還可以感受到油脂和牛肉相連,瞬間被牙齒扯開的一刻快感。只是論肉質,牛腩始終不如牛般彈牙,我在大角咀吃過「士X棧」台灣牛肉麵的牛,牛反而比牛腩更軟腍更彈牙,牛腩無疑是肉質豐腴,但論軟腍彈牙,我更屬意「士X棧」的台式牛麵多一點。而且,花四十多塊吃碗牛腩河粉,吃完始終有點若有所失。四十多塊一碗牛腩河粉於我而言,真的不是太值。 continue reading

If you're passionate about beef, noodles, and curry, then this should be on your hit list. While the noodles are quite pricey when compared to other places in Hong Kong, the portion is super filling. Plus, they already have their share of fame, so the whole restaurant is decked with menus in different languages, from English to Korean. Do note that they also have a minimum charge per person.I'll recommend the curry beef noodles for those who can take a serious amount of spiciness. It is packed with flavour, and the beef slices are tender and easily pulled apart between bites. The tendons and joints are included, so the overall texture is very well-rounded. The soup itself might be too salty to drink, but those who are feeling chilly will appreciate the depth of its heat. The other to go is the standard broth beef fun (rice noodle), a safer choice for those just looking to appreciate both the beef and noodles without a leaking nose and swollen mouth. But personally out of the two, I'll always go for the curry because it is seriously addictive. Just get a glass of lemon tea at the side, and you're ready to burn your tongue out for the better part of two hours ;) continue reading

normally there are two queues on this street, one for this restaurant, another one for the opposite restaurant with that tomato soup base noodlestick with 九記. u cannot get better beef brisket noodle elsewhere. but u can get tomato soup base noodle at home, nothing special about the other placesome people like to follow the queue when they are visiting...u dont wanna join the queue that just blindly follows the queue continue reading

朋友发来的美食地图推荐 说九记牛腩能够品嚐到最纯粹的港式风味店面偏小 但有两层楼 排队倒也快。12:30开始营业 12:36到达已是大排长队。专程赶来 排!1:00左右入座。点选“上汤牛腩粗麪” 以为是像乌冬的麪条 但其实是宽扁 偏硬的麪。推荐伊麪吧!是圆柱形的麪条 朋友说好吃肉汤味道不错 但最後喝会觉得咸。牛腩嫰 带有韧性~但有肥肉 扣分上汤油菜不错~但耗油撒在菜上泡进了汤里…不太懂…热奶茶很正!不甜~朋友喝的阿华田。总体并不惊艳不过值得尝试~ continue reading

上個月去開上環,終於食到大家講左好耐既九記!以前每次黎,一係關門,一係超長隊,所以今次再來博一博,平日下午唔洗排隊直入看到Menu,爽腩超貴!啞左~叫左碗上湯牛腩河 ($45)評價:細碗,唔夠飽,牛腩有點韌唔夠林。湯底ok既,不過唔值咁出名,出面$3x 碗的比它好味&份量多一陪。下次有機會再試埋個咖哩腩先~ continue reading
