星期六晚上,要跟阿媽同老豆去尖沙咀某間酒店,參加一個婚禮的晚宴。不過婚宴這東西,你懂得的,五時恭候,八時入席,九時未必即刻有得食。既然要等到很晚時間才能吃飯,當然要先在婚宴之前,先吃一些下午茶,以備不時之需。去到尖沙咀這些極多外國,與強國遊客的旅遊購物熱點,食肆反而未必能像你想要那樣應有盡有,價錢不能豐儉由人。所以這種下午茶,我沒期待過會有甚麼好東西可以吃,要求亦不像正餐一般講究。結果阿媽找到一間賣潮州菜的餐館,這間餐館名稱叫做「雞記潮州麵食」,看招牌還以為它是集團式連鎖經營食店。看見「雞記潮州麵食」招牌旁邊用日文漢字標明是「地元で評判の潮州食堂」,如果再在旁邊加上英文店名,我就可以立刻確定這間麵店是為遊客而設的潮州菜館。在市區旅遊購物熱點內,一般餐廳食肆坐滿遊客和食客是很正常的事,就算食店生意再好,也可能敵不過業主加租的威脅,最後可能結業收場。所以坐在「雞記」的座位上,我還需要親自試食過它們的潮州菜食品,才能確定它們值不值得光顧,和它們能不能夠繼續經營下去。「雞記」店內燈火通明,餐檯座椅還算新淨,員工有維持清潔打掃店舖,門面尚算企理潔淨,單看「環境」這一項評分還算理想。餐檯座椅顏色是深色,牆壁顏色大多都是以比較光亮鮮明的淺黃色為主,店內營造出強烈對比的顏色風格。餐牌經歷時間洗刷,顏色未變舊,但餐牌已經有被皺摺的痕跡,不過都是無傷大雅的一回事。眾人各自點了碗潮州粉麵,另外再點了一些潮州小菜。以前一講起潮州菜,第一時間會想到潮州打冷飯店,「大眼雞」等等冷點食品,不過那些食品,多數留到晚上宵夜時間才會點來食。我們一開始先點了潮州小菜來吃,分別有「生煎墨魚餅」和「欖菜肉卷」。「生煎墨魚餅」外型跟我以往吃過的魚餅、蝦餅有點相似。不過魚餅,蝦餅都是泰國菜,都是經過油炸,跟潮州生煎墨魚餅的香煎手法大有不同。我比較喜歡「欖菜肉卷」,「欖菜肉卷」外表真的好像,外國電視烹飪節目會見到那些肉卷。外國那些肉卷,內裡夾着的都是蘆筍,跟「欖菜肉卷」內的欖菜不同,不過兩者都很有口感。生煎過的墨魚餅,表面少了一股油膩,那股油膩味在食普通炸蝦餅經常會吃到,反而在潮州生煎墨魚餅身上感受不到。論口感生煎墨魚餅跟炸蝦餅一樣,口感相當彈牙。炸蝦餅外面總有脆漿炸成的面皮,但會比較熱氣,要等蝦餅稍微冷凍後才能吃,反而生煎墨魚餅就不需要這樣做。不用等墨魚餅放涼就可以吃,感覺是特別爽。反而整個潮州菜的主角,咖哩牛腩麵,吃完麵感覺不如配飯那麼爽快。吃咖哩牛腩飯,咖哩牛腩可以用來佐飯。咖哩牛腩配幼麵來食,吃完有點失望,配麵反而不及配飯那麼好吃。說實話,吃咖喱牛腩麵時,其實我很想跟侍應說我想要飯,可惜當時的我不能。因為那個咖哩牛腩的只是湯底,而不是咖哩汁,如果湯底稠一點變成汁,然後配飯吃,那就真的是完美了。 continue reading

So I was a little hungry at about 2pm. Having heard some good things about their noodle dishes in OpenRice I decided to give it a shot. One more reason I was curious to see how it looks now since my dad used to own a store years ago in that location. I ordered the seaweed squid ball noodle. While the noodle is pretty QQ, the broth is bland. The squid ball is ok but I could hardly taste the seaweed. Service was ok but it took awhile before someone took my order. There r so many better noodle joints I probably won't be back. Hopefully my next review will be more positive. continue reading

經常都會搵下各區有冇邊啲粉麵好評嘅試下,今次嚟哩間~牛三寶麵 - 見叫三寶,又$52碗都唔算平,以為有咩特別部位食(......), 原來都只不過係牛根,金錢肚同埋牛腩。 三樣都夠林,浸住喺啲湯度本身都仲有啲味;湯底淡淡的不會死咸。整體尚算ok㰖菜肉卷&炸紫菜墨魚丸 - 兩款炸物都唔錯。炸紫菜墨魚丸外面炸得金黃,墨魚肉都有墨魚味,夾雜住紫菜粒,係幾好食;可惜仲有啲馬蹄粒,個人非常厭惡。㰖菜肉卷外面層腐皮炸得非常脆口,裏面肉質唔鞋亦唔太假,頗有趣。 continue reading

對手Gel 甲長到乜嘢咁,尋日又打風整唔到,好在今日唔使返工而gel甲姐姐又有時間,就即刻撲出尖沙咀。整完都四點幾又未食lunch,搵啲嘢食先。記得男朋友喺尖沙咀返工嘅時候,話過呢間好食,又係附近咁一於試啦。叫咗個紫菜墨丸麵。先試一啖湯底, 係味道偏鹹嘅味精底,相當一般。因為湯底麻麻,所以都已經冇晒期望。墨丸望落去冇乜特別,係見到有紫菜。一啖咬落去,嘩!火鍋手打墨丸咁彈牙!墨魚味超濃,入面除咗有一粒粒墨魚之外,仲有馬蹄!口感超豐富,完全估唔到粉面店會有呢個質素嘅墨魚丸!面都幾爽,冇鹼水味。另外值得一提嘅係佢個辣椒油,夠香夠辣少咸,冇炒過頭既苦味!出色!最失敗嘅係我自己冇留意,唔知佢可唔可以買生丸走。打完篇文好想加佢個丸自己煮個麵食添… continue reading

I liked to have lunch here many years before, but not go there much recently. Normally I would order the deep fired fish ball with noodle. Fish balls were crispy, inside still hot and strong taste of fish, not only taste of flour. I would order the veggie too, as it was with special sauce, different from normal veggie in other Cha Chan Tang. continue reading
