平日食飯多食日韓或西餐為主, 友人想食下其他菜, 所以便選了位於中環的Jashan Indian Cuisine食印度嘢. 店內燈光昏暗, 幾有情調. 而且擺放了一些得獎的獎座和獎狀. 坐下後, 店員先奉上welcome soup and food. 湯是帶有咖喱味, 少許辣, 而小食似薯餅. 來食印度嘢, 我必飲Mango Lassi. 飲的時候充滿芒果的味道, 夠清甜, 好好飲. 小食點了 Kadak Jhinga. 這是蝦來, 一共有兩款口味, 一款是唔辣. 一款是辣, 可以試晒兩款口味. 蝦的外層和平日食的有點不同, 外層不是脆身, 蝦幾大隻, 而且蝦肉夠爽口彈牙. 由於我唔太食得辣, 我自己鍾意食唔辣那一款多一點. NAAN也是必點, 有多款口味選擇, 最後, 我地選了芝士味. 一客有三塊. 入口時有淡淡的芝士香味, 而質感帶少許煙煙韌韌, 這是我喜愛的口感. 食NAAN除了單食外, 也可以配醬汁一齊食, 所以我地點了一客Butter Chicken. 上枱時已香味撲鼻. 我第一時間先食雞肉. 雞肉肉質尚算嫩滑, 最鍾意佢是啖啖肉. 而醬汁可以用來點NAAN食, 這是另一番風味. continue reading

去完離島在中環吃晚飯。星期六的中環,跟平日相比,少了一份怱忙,多點閒情逸致去欣賞四周的人和事。每次搭半山扶手電梯,都一直向上走。停下腳步,兩邊的街景、招牌,綠色的鐵皮大排檔,映入眼簾。就在扶手電梯旁的金珀苑位置方便,上一層來到Jashan Indian Cuisine。燈光昏暗,但時間尚早,日光從窗外透進來,讓我們在天黑之前好好欣賞充滿印度色彩又帶點時尚的裝潢。坐在窗邊,舒服地挨著咕臣,望向荷李活道,寫意無比。慢慢揭餐牌,除了各式小食,主菜分成雞肉,羊肉,海鮮和素菜幾個分類。印度菜做到法國菜般,先送來amuse bouche。一口炸物,一小杯暖熱的菠菜湯。外層少少韌,不脆,包著以香料調了味的薯蓉,沾了羅望子醬和薄荷醬,味道不錯。Salty Lassi最近喝了幾次都未如人意,不是太稀,就是太淡。終於找到滿意的濃稠度,不會太酸,都幾鹹,但跟酸度平衡得不錯,還有明顥而不過濃的香料味。表面有層泡泡。要解渴的話,男友的青檸梳打是較佳的選擇,但Salty lassi始終是最喜愛的印度菜飲品。Papad - Plain就如吃意大利菜有麵包籃一樣,吃印度菜總得有Papadum,只可惜這裡並不是免費供應,只好點一份,連醬料都逐款計錢,未免太商業化。點了一份原味的,附送薄荷乳酪。薄脆而不輕,不會因為薄而犠牲口感,如吃空氣般。本帶少少黑椒的辣,沾點清涼的醬,又是另一番滋味。總算物有所值。Palak Patta Chaat - Spinach fritters dressed with yoghurt, tamarind and mint sauceFritter的賣相比想像中漂亮得多。夾著菠菜的炸粉墊底,上面是薯蓉和雞心豆等堆成的小山,淋上酸酸甜甜的羅望子汁,最後撒上硬脆的一條條。墊底的炸物鬆脆又濕軟,不過菠菜的份量不多,味道不算突出。反而上面的薯仔粒和豆有驚喜。煮至軟腍而不散,跟香料混在一起,還有增加濕度,又清新開胃的醬汁。口感、味道、層次,都一流。Hari Bhari Tikki - Broccoli cheese tikki with pineapple dipTikki類似小小的煎餅。先把西蘭花煮熟,砌碎,夾著芝士做成煎餅,便成了眼前熱辣辣、香噴噴的tikki。沒有了西蘭花的口感,味道卻十分明顯,外層還有煎過的香。中間的芝士融成軟腍腍,濃稠得非流質,帶淡得相信九成九吃芝士的人都能接受的羶香,跟西蘭花很夾。甜度適中的果醬不錯,但不想它蓋過西蘭花本來的味,用來配伴碟的沙律好了。Bread basket - Roti, Laccha paratha, garlic naan, naan一次過試齊幾款麵包,就可以比較Naan, roti和paratha的分別。Naan由精製麵粉,經過發酵,放在筒狀的爐烘燒而成。Roti和paratha則由全麥麵粉,不經發酵,煎成。Roti乾煎不用油,經過重覆搓和疊的paratha則用上酥油或牛油去煎。店員送上的麵包籃,份量頗大,每款4塊,足足有16塊。不過從旁邊看,每塊的厚度都差不多,理應經過發酵的naan並沒有特別厚,亦沒有較軟熟的口感。Garlic naan的蒜蓉夠香,但不會太濃,吃完沒有遺下久久不散的氣味。明顯的,是麵包的分別。Paratha和roti的顏色較深,帶清清的麥香。仔細留意,Paratha有一層層,不過其實塊塊都扁實,偏乾偏韌,口感一般,有點失望。Mangalorean Chilli ChickenMangalorean style chicken curry, with chillies, peppercorn, coconut and poppy seeds落單的店員純綷落單,上菜的店員才作介紹,原來點了兩款相似的。幸而,同一個base,最後的材料略有不同,一個辣椒,一個花生,有不同效果。雞肉嫩滑,煮得入味,還有久違的新鮮雞味。洋蔥又甜又腍,辣椒少少辣,帶青味,黑胡椒又有另一種辣,味道濃而不重。椰漿的甜被中和,香則保留,有多層次的味道。沒有咖喱汁的濕潤,配麵包卻同樣夾。Hydrabadi Baghare Baingan - Curry Leaf Tempered EggplantEggplant cooked in a peanut, sesame and roasted coconut gravy味道的確相似,這個較濕,較甜。幼身的茄子切成一片片,煮至軟腍入味。加了芝麻和花生醬,濃稠、細滑,偶爾吃到少許沒有拌勻的花生醬,熟悉的味道刺激味蕾,有驚喜。少少辣的雞較惹味,帶甜的這道則較親和,伴麵包效果更佳。Homemade Saffron Kulfi - Indian flavoured ice cream最後以甜品畫上句號。印度雪糕比普通雪糕硬實,好處是不容易融掉,可以咬下,還夾著開心果碎,更有口感。當它慢慢融化,在口裡變成濃稠,帶少少粉的漿,少少甜如煉奶,帶有復雜而清淡的香料味,相當好吃。吃厭了雪糕,kulfi是個不錯的選擇。上面淋了焦糖,跟kulfi不算夾,畫蛇添足。附了麵包籃,每一道都叫人滿意。晚上六時來到,全餐廳只有我們一枱,只見店員送出了好幾次外賣。如此質素沒人捧場,有點可惜。直至七時多,人流開始多,不知不覺有近八成入座率,熱鬧起來。跟早幾天在油麻地吃的印度菜相比,Jashan的食物較精緻,環境和氣氛舒適得多,位處中環,價錢卻相差不大。一間服務有禮體貼,一間熱情親切。喜歡這裡的高貴優雅,卻少了地道風味。 continue reading

相約在中環返工的朋友食飯,佢約左我去呢度 開頭係樓下望見,以為係間酒吧添~ 一上到去,未食已經好興奮,個環境勁靚~ 顧客好多都係外國人,同本地人既比例係一半半度~ 一坐底,未叫野食,已經送上了兩人份的WELCOME DRINK 同小食~ 講緊既係2杯有少少咖喱味的湯 同 薯仔餅 薯餅入面混左唔少香料,食落唔似平時既食既薯餅咁DRY~ 而且焗過,好香口~ 餐廳位於二樓,落地大玻璃窗對住中環特色舊建築,好有殖民時代既風味~ 望住咁有FEEL既景,飲番杯印度 MANGO LASSI,又可以傾成晚啦~ LASSI 夠凍,唔算好甜,有濃濃的芒果香味~ 朋友叫左杯印度生啤,同平時飲開既LOCAL 啤分別不大~ 雖然食左個WELCOME DRINK 同FOOD, 但指定既胡椒餅依然不缺~ 胡椒餅既胡椒味唔算好濃,薄荷醬唔算太薄荷,另一個好似燒汁既醬,比起平時既奇怪印度醬更易入口~ 係睇緊食咩既時候,經理好開心咁同我講佢地間餐廳攞左法國藍帶餐廳的殊榮 今日去左攞獎~ 佢好興奮咁俾我睇佢今日攞獎d 相添~XD 原來呢間餐廳都開左好多年,而且城中好多名人都黎食過,又係經理SHOW 相既時間~XD 我話呢度既裝修好靚,可以係度影結婚相,佢話係呀,有唔少人借呢個場黎拍結婚相架~HAHA 人少少,又唔知揀咩好,叫待應推介下 呢個好似草餅咁既物體,其實我都唔知係咩黎~ 佢同初初食個WELCOME FOOD 差唔多,不過最特別係加左個好似生果蓉的SOURCE, 甜甜地,好野味~ 令到成個餅變左另一種味道~ 成個餅以菜蓉,豆蓉,薯仔混合左,食落好似食菜餅咁,入面加左左少少芝士調味 感覺幾新鮮,因為全菜既關係,食左2件都唔覺好膩 黎個咖喱羊先 開頭以為係一兜兜咖喱加入羊 原來係成隻脾咁上架~ 待應好好人咁教我地點食,原來要先將羊脾起左骨 之後混合埋D印度飯一齊食 羊肉好淋,無咩羊騷味,待應話呢個羊醃左十幾個鐘架啦~ 所以先咁淋咁入味~ 咖喱唔係算好辣個D, 之前問過佢話係MEDIUM SPICY, 不過對我黎講就係小小辣咁囉~ 印度飯混合埋肉同咖喱食,同豉油撈飯咁,可以食幾碗囉~XD 最後黎一個BUTTER CHICKEN~ 勁CREAMY的汁~ 少少甜,好輕好輕既辣 雞肉雖然係啖啖肉,但好滑~ 似先處理過D雞再混合咖喱汁~ 咁CREAMY 既咖喱汁當然要加番個 NAAN 待應推介 ONION NAAN~ NAAN 一客3件,幾大塊,個底有少少焦味~ 可能係佢既特色黎~ 平時去中環食飯,想搵間靚少少既餐廳,閒閒地都幾百蚊一個人 呢間印度餐廳環境夠哂正,價錢都係百鬆D蚊一個主菜 下次約朋友去中環食飯唔使怕個銀包赤啦~ continue reading

Southern lamb curry was very good favor, lamb was tender, both taste went well and was good to eat with naan. Mango lassie was okay in terms of texture and taste. I would expect to have a thicker yoghurt and more mango favor. Shrimps were fresh but the curry we picked was mild, which ended up feeling a bit blended favor. Maybe because it was a mild curry....The sweet naan is the must try, delicious when hot and even when it was a bit cold after a while. Servers were attentive. We would definitely come again to have the lamb and try other dishes. continue reading

I have eaten here MANY times but every time was for lunch buffet.  The only Indian restaurant that I know that has buffet every day.  They change the items often.  But every time it is delicious!Indian is my favorite food in the world, unfortunately there are no buffets in Shenzhen for Indian so whenever I come to HK I always eat here at least once.  Service is wonderful, they always let me sit so I can recharge my iPad.  Always making sure my ice water is filled.  Hope they stay in business forever!If you like Indian try it.  If you haven't tried Indian, then their affordable Indian buffet is a great time to try it! continue reading
