To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Food and Health Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has launched the "League of RSS-friendly Restaurants" ("League"). Restaurants participated in the League will offer less-salt-and-sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. I’ve actually ordered from Istanbul Express a whole bunch over the past few months via a food delivery app and the food is always nice and warm, packed neatly away with all four of their sauces. I was in the area this time round and decided to stop by. The restaurant was relatively quiet, with the tables about 1/4th full. I ordered the beef doner lunch set and a sutlac as dessert. The waiter was very polite and food was brought to my table relatively quickly, armed with their classic sauces in squeeze bottles for me to add at my own discretion. The beef doner itself was a bit on the salty side but it was delicious nonetheless. My favorite part of the lunch was definitely the rice - not plain rice, flavorful with yellow rice specks littered throughout. The sutlac itself was served in a cold brown bowl, just like the menu photo. A classic traditional Turkish dessert, it was a good balance between the rice and pudding without being overly sweet. Honestly, the restaurant offers a good bang for the buck, especially for someone looking for a lunch quick fix. Hope it lasts the restaurant drought COVID has swept through Wanchai - it’s definitely a keeper! continue reading

🌟作為灣仔嘅打工仔呢一間土耳其餐廳亦都係其中一間幾常去嘅餐廳,同一條街有幾間類似嘅餐廳,但係我覺得呢間最迎合到香港人嘅口味。🐟🍟炸魚薯條 $82😋炸魚揸得好香脆裏面嘅魚肉亦都保持Juicy同嫩,魚柳本身有味亦都未至於好鹹,而且魚柳都十分好大塊。薯條感覺到佢係即刻炸嘅,因為出到嚟都熱辣辣而且仲炸得好香脆,就算加咗醬汁亦都唔會話好快會淋。所以記得一定要配佢三色醬食,佢三隻醬各有各口味,一隻辣、一隻香草味、一隻酸奶味,每一次我都會加晒落去個薯條度,因為佢哋三隻夾埋都幾好食!伴碟嘅沙律唔係普通青菜,係真係有沙律汁嘅沙律,食完炸魚薯條食返啲沙律即刻一解熱氣嘅感覺。整體:🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 continue reading

港島區多外國人居住,所以有好多正宗外國菜食,今次同事就帶我黎試一試佢食過最正宗的土耳其菜。土耳其菜就會令人諗起一大舊燒肉不停咁轉,呢度除左轉轉燒肉,仲有其他款式揀,而且可以揀跟飯同薯條。Istanbul Beef doner一般的轉轉牛肉都係碎啲細舊啲,好似肉碎咁,但呢度的牛肉係大大片咁,份量都唔少,食完會飽,飯就加左啲果仁同油所以就咁食都有味。Salad with chicken doner唔好以為叫沙律會唔飽,佢既沙律菜同肉份量都好多,而且呢度係有4款醬比你邊食邊加,推薦綠色既醬要落多啲。 continue reading

寫這篇食評的時候, 正是小妹我的牛一,可惜最近疫情原因, 大家都好少出外用膳,即使生日,也不例外,只可以在家煮食,所以更加掛念出街食飯的日子,希望疫情快些過去,大家可以回復正常的生活。記得那天是我第一次食土耳其菜式,之前未曾食過,土耳其菜被稱為世界三大菜系之一, 另外兩款是中國菜系和法國菜系, 土耳其國內大多信仰伊斯蘭,不吃豬肉,所以肉食以牛,羊和雞為主, 並多以烤的方式做成各式和樣的料理,配以蕃茄,黃瓜,青椒,生菜等, 香料多源於阿拉伯地區 ﹣ 例如:香菜,薄荷,肉桂,丁香, 紅椒粉, 茴香等,調味方面則以橄欖油,鹽,洋蔥,大蒜等。始終我比較傳統,對中東菜式不感興趣,感覺不太合口味,但那次同同事一起嚐試,我點了一個轉轉烤雞卷,價錢相對較便宜,同事就點了轉轉烤雞肉配白飯,還點了一客炸土豆。炸土豆有很濃烈的孜然味,不太易入口, 口味不太討好,烤雞卷味道偏淡, 配醬料較惹味吸引,而且份量唔會太少。餐後飲一杯的土耳其紅茶,感覺幾清新,而且無甘油膩,整體而言,很飽肚,烤雞卷味道尚可,但炸土豆則不太易接受,價錢方面沒有收加一服務費,算合理。  continue reading
