Insta Crepes (Closed)

I am quite a Crepe lover - especially after my first dining experience with the famous crepe place in Hong Kong with the name starting from "L" - which is generally good but can get a little pricey as a dinner option. This time, I brought my friend to this new place as one of my colleagues highly recommended it, saying this is a much more budget and friendly family-style restaurant, so I did the little hike to the top of SoHo with my friend. We ordered the set dinner for 2 ($240). For Crepes, we chose Champion (Egg, mushroom and potatoes) and From the Sea (Seafood in lobster sauce). Both were really good. I think one of the common risks of screwing up  Crepes is cooking it to a state where it got too dried and lost the optimal texture (which L, despite being generally good, screwed up from time to time too). This time, the kitchen handled it very well. The crepe was just in a right balance of crispiness and a bit of tenderness. Great job!This is the sweet one we had - Straws (Strawberry ice cream and some berries). Again it is quite nicely done! They have a good variety of sweet crepe options too. You should be able to find something you want. Overall, this $240 dinner set for 2 is quite a good deal. You get 2 starters, 2 savory, 1 sweet and 2 beverages  - Hard to ask for anything else in the SoHo area. But still this tiny cafe is not busy at weekday night at all. After travelling in Paris I have always missed the crepe there but then I can't really find a satisfying one until we found instacrepe in soho.We arrived at 8pm and we were the only customers. We have decided to go with the safest choice: nothing can go wrong with cheese, egg , mushroom and surprisingly, the fried potato cubes.The edge of the crepe is slightly burnt but it is crispy and thin enough unlike the one I had in other restaurant the egg yolk is cooked just to the right point as well!For dessert, we ordered the classic combo of Nutella choco x banana. Unfortunately not the experience we were hoping for. For starters we had the soup of the day which was tomato- had some tomato and herb pieces which made it taste nice. Onion rings were fine, like most of the restaurants. However the pancakes were a huge disappointment. We opted for the cheese, egg, bacon, mushroom option. The filling itself was okay- we all know what these ingredients taste like, however there was no seasoning whatsoever. The pancake itself was the worst- bland and the only taste we could find was the brown burnt part of it. Overall mixed with bland ingredients we weren't able to finish it. Such a cosy spot! Definitely not ideal for big groups; best if you're just a party of 2-4 at most.They do offer other things besides crepes (salads, soups, and pastas) and though I have yet to try those items, my gut tells me to just stick with what they're named after.I was in the mood for something sweet and I struggled to choose between the "caramelized world" and "straws" (strawberry). It all came down to caramelized fruit vs fresh fruit, and I ended up choosing the latter. Straws ended up being a photogenic crepe drizzled with a good sauce, sprinkled with fresh fruit, and a generous scoop of strawberry ice cream.
