特登由荃灣西鐵站行去試,個位置一d都唔易搵,由西鐵站沿海邊去到個屋苑搵到間野用左45分鐘,所以對佢d雞蛋仔其望好高,一共買左4款,除左朱古力係有d味外,其他3款(燕麥、美祿、吉士)完成冇分別,d雞蛋仔不但好淋,而且一d蛋味都冇,勁失望! continue reading

雞蛋仔迷這次的歷奇,來到了屋苑中的一家小食店。想去很久但懶於動身,距荃灣西十分鐘路程不是過甚,平日行山的路程遠得多,但為了雞蛋仔而涉足沒什麼其他好看的屋苑實在有點說服不了自己 (或同行的人)。飛雲終於給懶人一個機會,友人住在這裡,這就沒有不集郵的理由了。不算太難找,在平台A的樓梯上去,店就在兒童遊樂場側。店子不大,大部分是廚房,有一角放了桌椅,能供少量客人進食較適宜堂食的早餐和窩夫。以屋邨小店來說,雞蛋仔和窩夫的口味和款式遠超期望,比開在鬧市的摩芽還要多;幾乎獨市的情況下,無必要多加口味出奇制勝,原因只是店主的小孩愛雞蛋仔,開店後變相連食饕都討喜和招徠了。$22起一底,最貴的只是$30,實不為過。望著十多款的味道已夠垂涎,例如Oreo、蜜糖星星、斑蘭咖央、朱古力夾心、開心果、芝士和榴槤。家庭式經營的店,人不多,店面工夫一腳踢。店主不是閒著的等人來,但當你靠近窗口位張望,她會問你要點些什麼,另一邊廂慢慢放下手上的工作。等候時間不長,大約五分鐘。雞蛋仔以有孔的紙盛著,比傳統紙袋方便捏著,但孔開得很大,在保持脆身之餘,亦較易失去餘溫。嚴格來說,外表有著雞蛋仔的形狀,但形在神不在。兩底都烘得一襲均勻的啡色,表面極具光澤度。咬下未見脆口,邊緣位一扭便斷,未見有碎屑掉下。每顆雞蛋仔內沒什麼空間,都給蛋漿填得甚滿,可想而知極其是香但不脆,比較像在吃小蛋糕。雖然質感跟期望有落差,味道上實是做得不錯。買的是檸薑和紫菜肉鬆味 (各$22),大致相同的外表告訴你,用上的蛋漿沒大分別,味道的不同是在內藏的配料中展現出來。檸薑味用上的是懷舊小食中的檸味薑粒,每顆雞蛋仔都有一小粒,吃著盡是鹹甜交融的醒胃美味,有點著喝咸檸七的咸檸。紫菜肉鬆亦是明顯的每顆都有,肉鬆香氣突出,令雞蛋仔成功偏離甜食的框框。雖然有很多想吃的味道未試,但「吊腳」的位置和不太像雞蛋仔的質感,令我未必會在短期內特意造訪。味道夠濃郁,無揭為特色味道而來的人,但輸掉了雞蛋仔的基本口感。敗位未必是軟綿度,畢竟有些都不是走北角雞蛋仔般的脆身路線,而是在光亮得有點像蠟面的表面,令手上的像雞蛋仔形狀的蛋糕而已。花款和質感,總要取個平衡啊。 continue reading

好耐之前成日喺雜誌、電視見到呢間新派雞蛋仔嘅介紹,一直都好想試。每次偶爾經過呢度,佢都冇開舖,仲懷疑佢執咗。嗰個周末去探朋友,終於撞到佢開門喇。我其實食完晏無耐,嘻嘻~試新野喎,始終都有多個胃嘅。睇到牆上貼住嘅選擇……嘩!款款都好似好好味,我嘅選擇困難症發作喇。最後見到呢一個poster ,就佢啦,揀咗檸薑味。佢哋係即叫即整,等左一陣終於有得食啦!個包裝都幾吸引,係一個通窿嘅硬紙盒。雞蛋仔每粒嘅size比傳統嘅細啲,介乎五毫至一蚊銀啦。外層夠熱,但唔算勁脆。正如佢哋鋪頭所講只係加牛奶唔加水,食落又真係多咗牛奶香味。每粒雞蛋仔入邊都有一小粒檸汁薑,薑唔係好辣,少少甜,少少鹹。口味都幾過癮。呢個雞蛋仔實在好啱貪新鮮嘅人,可惜我未能忘舊。如果只係俾我二揀一,我都係會掛住某啲屋邨入邊嘅炭燒雞蛋仔多d。咁樣比較可能未必好公平,始終呢度嘅口味既創新又獨特。老闆敢於開拓新口味嘅勇氣值得一讚嘅!間鋪頭外面仲放左一張小圓枱同兩張櫈。原來佢哋唔單只有雞蛋仔賣,仲有英式早餐、漢堡包餐等等。價錢算ok,$50-60問咗佢哋開舖時間,係每日晏晝兩點半至晚上大概七點。逢禮拜五休息架,下次我唔會再摸門釘。 continue reading

I was so glad Eggspectation was at the Eggsentially Art fair because they are located in Tsuen Wan and that is so far away.All their eggettes are made from duck eggs which was the traditional recipe back in the 1950s.I tried the pork floss and seaweed which was really delicious because it was not too sweet and the pork floss tasted surprisingly good in the eggette.It is amazing how they can keep their standard as good as the first time I tried them a few years ago and I have missed so many new flavours that they have made according to their FB such as pistachio, bacon, custard egg puffs etc. continue reading
