Darkside is a hotel bar (Rosewood Hotel) mentioned in numerous best bars lists, but is it really worth the hype? Time to flash some light on it.There was a short jazz performance of around half an hour when we arrived at 8pm. We could get a table without reservation on Thursday.The cocktails are quite limited and mostly variations of classic. The pricing is rather at the top end for Hong Kong standards, but you also pay for the location, ocean view and live jazz music. Not recommended if you want to deep talk with friends as the music is quite loud.The interior is beautiful with moving sand clocks at the ceiling. First thing i was thinking when i saw it was:“ time flies“. We left after each one cocktail and the black truffle fries, because we were told they have a reservation. Was this because we only ordered two drinks and 150$ expensive fries? You don’t go to a bar for good food, but for good drinks.
