🐮 Steak was good but nothing impressive. The fries 🍟 on the side were incredibly delicious- not so oily, freshly fried, crispy on the outside... I had to suppress my urge to order an extra portion! 😋

然後 for sharing 的主菜 Beef "Ribeye Tournedos"(500g, $700) 也上檯了,約五成熟的肉眼肉質極嫩、肉味又香濃,我愛拌上 horseradish 醬同吃,更添滋味。同場囝囝再度食神上身,懶理粉紅色澤,試了一件後大呼好吃,要 encore 再 encore 再 encore!

是夜為生日飯宴,選餐後要求店方在甜品碟上簡單寫上賀詞,不過遭到拒絕,原因是要訂座時預先說明,現在不作受理.我不解以巧克力醬畫上幾個字有多困難,回覆是㝍完要冷藏~~現在她們可以做的只有插上爉燭.於是Coconut Crémé Brûlée正中就插上爉燭一支,薄薄一層燉蛋,淡淡椰香,食味一般.

整體晚飯感覺,套餐十分一般,散點主菜好多了也較認真;可是食物以外,服務生態度有點什麼,或缺了點什麼..就算嘴角呈笑意,眉稍眼角就是帶點不屑,是否我們帶有兩名小童?外國好些餐廳標明不接待小孩,皆因孩子們的失控吵鬧多會破壞進餐環境的安靜,所以大家訂位時最好細明,免得雙方煩惱..或許純粹個人想多了,她們不是擺面色,本來法式的服務水平表現方式就是這樣..?!

Having already had soup earlier at home (before Pilates class) - I wasn't all that hungry. And I knew my friend eats like a bird. So we shared one main and had three glasses of wine between us. I'm no connosieur but the wine prices averaged at HK$150 meaning they should be pretty damn good over there.

The dover sole was absolutely fresh and cooked to perfection. Tender and light, but also flavour-heavy and buttery from the sauce. You think you're being healthy ordering fish but then it can't taste THAT good and be low on calories. Wish it were, though! I don't love mashed potatoes but with all that butter and cream my taste buds were exploding with delight. At least there were green beans to assuage our guilt..

For dessert it was a tough choice between Apple Tarte Tatin and the molten chocolate cake but in the end VALRHONA CHOCOLATE TEXTURES (HK$100) won. Inside: biscuit moelleux, choco-peanut, crumble, ganache, raspberry (if I remember correctly). It was so-so. Cake a bit bready. Maybe we should have gone for the tarte tatin. 
Would I go back?
Probably yes. Honestly the vibe, location, and food make strong enough cases for an encore.

又是週末食玩瞓的一天,參考open rice 的評價後,好想試試這家小店。小店位於小街,頗為難搵。座位十數個,今天沒有set lunch 只有brunch .我點了egg benedict 而hubby 則點steak and egg.Egg benedict 的smoke salmon 有點咸,而個荷蘭汁無乜味道,只是creamy 已己,包是暖的,完全沒有配菜。百二蚊的egg benedict 以這水準,索價偏高。Steak and egg: 炒磨茹非常好味,又香口又juicy; 主角牛扒五成熟,外脆肉嫩,多肉汁又有牛味,份量雖少但令人十分滿足。就是這道菜叫我們試試他們的甜品. Steak and egg: 炒磨茹非常好味,又香口又juicy; 主角牛扒五成熟,外脆肉嫩,多肉汁又有牛味,份量雖少但令人十分滿足。就是這道菜叫我們試試他們的甜品.

樣子不錯, raspberry 很新鮮,;酸酸的味道平衡了朱古力mousse 的甜味,唯朱古力的味道比較單一,只有甜味沒有回甘和可可的甘香。這一甜品索價85,真的有點貴。

餐廳不算難找, 去之前要做好心理準備走斜路就是了~ 店面以黑白色為主色, 簡約又有風格

裡面也是小小的, 幸好坐位沒有太擠, 裝潢簡潔中帶優雅, 晚上氣氛應該會更浪漫~

照片不太美觀, 但想讓大家看看croque madame 的每一層, 太陽蛋下面是 gruyere cheese 包著的火腿三文治, 中間還有不少白汁,很喜歡一口咬下去不同食材混合的口感和味道, 但如果三文治能烘得更脆會更好, 中間的麵包有點軟爛, 整個都是軟軟的感覺, 口感太單一

Cocotte, a new modern French restaurant nestled at the top of Shin Hing Street, is a definite must-try. The restaurant was decorated with vintage mirrors and wallpaper and had both outdoor and indoor seating, making it a great brunch and dinner hangout. 

We decided to start off the meal with a few cocktails, which were a bit pricey, ranging from HKD$100-200 but very unique and original. I picked the kit-kat cocktail that tasted like a cold chocolate drink, a great first start! We then went on to the set dinner menu, which was about HKD$400-500 per person, with a starter, main and dessert. Each category had 2 choices.

I took the lobster bisque, steak and finished with a crème brûlée. The lobster bisque was made fresh and served with a crispy crouton, a great first-start to a meal. It was creamy and had lobster taste. The steak was well cooked and had a good sauce.

My friend ordered the deconstructed goat-cheese tart with a vegetable salad on top. This was very original. The tart was presented more as a vegetable stack and tasted great. The cheese was not over-powering and the vegetables was a good complement to the cheese.

The coffee crème brûlée was good, but nothing special. The sugar crust was good, and the custard creamy, but was similar to crème brûlées found in most French restaurants.

The bistro had a great atmosphere and is a good hang out for drinks after work, or just a casual dinner. Menu was on the expensive side, but the mains and starters offered were of good quality and justified the price. The desserts on the set menu were good but not great. Service was also good; the staff was friendly and professional. It's worth a revisit in the future for sure, especially for their cocktails!

Finally, it was time for the star to come. 
 The Croque Madame came with a mountain of fries and a salad. There was quite a bit of béchamel sauce, but not enough cheese for me, because I love it when it is loaded with cheese. The sandwich was okay, but I had expected more. The fries were great, since they were so crunchy. The salad was fresh and tasty.

Had such a good experience during my Business Lunch at Cocotte!The Executive Set Lunch is great value for money, you can definitely tell how much love the chef puts in each dish. I recommend the Onion Soup for starter, it was super tasty and so cheesy. The Filet mignon served as main dish is generous. The Steak is juicy and tender. The service is very friendly and efficient. The nice decoration and the pleasant music makes a welcoming atmosphere to this restaurant.  Can't wait to go back and try

Had such a good experience during my Business Lunch at Cocotte!

The Executive Set Lunch is great value for money, you can definitely tell how much love the chef puts in each dish.
I recommend the Onion Soup for starter, it was super tasty and so cheesy. The Filet mignon served as main dish is generous. The Steak is juicy and tender. 

The service is very friendly and efficient. The nice decoration and the pleasant music makes a welcoming atmosphere to this restaurant.  Can't wait to go back and try their Brunch in the week-end

For the dessert, despite being happily full,we enjoyed a passion fruit bavarois which was refreshing and light.

Overall, it was a great dinner menu to celebrate the NYE. The wait staff was very helpful and pleasant. 
I would definitely return to this restaurant to try the usual dinner menu but also for the decor. It is chic and elegant but still has a relaxed vibe.
