虎爺海南雞 (no English name) opened recently nearby. It was a takeaway only shop that served mainly Hainan chicken rice. There are other options but it's mostly Hainan chicken rice that costs only $45. As I live nearby, I decided to order takeaway for dinner.Menu is in Chinese only. There isn't any English and there is no 10% service charge. It's also takeaway only. There are no seats available. They serve various chicken rice dishes along with snacks. The chicken rice varieties is mostlyHainan chicken with various other sauces so you can choose spicy if you wish. The chicken rice sets come with a bowl of double boiled soup. They also serve a whole or half a chicken as well.I got myself the Hainan chicken rice set but upgraded to a thigh for $50 along with a snack of seseame jellyfish ($32). It was served in a very sturdy plastic container. There were three dipping sauces provided: sweet chilli, sweet soy sauce and grated ginger.I had the thigh. They only give you the upper part of the thigh so portion wasn't too big but was enough for me. Meat was moist and tender. Lightly seasoned. There was some pickled daikon and carrot provided. The rice was not too oily and tasted quite fragrant with a hint of ginger. Portion wasn't as big as other takeaway Haian chicken rice places I usually go to. This is a good thing as I can finish this without having loads of leftovers. The double boiled soup was chicken feet with peanuts and barley. Very savory and rich in flavour.I also had a sesame jellyfish as a snack. I haven't had this in a while and when I saw this, I had a sudden craving. Crisp and slippery. Marinaded well with sesame oil.Service was fast and friendly. I didn't need to wait long at all. Portions was decent enough but not as large as other take away places in the surrounding area. Prices not expensive and a welcome alternative to the Hainan chicken rice choices in this area.
