My mum always buys bread form A1 but I always tell her to buy some very normal bread, PLEASE never buy the new released stuff!!Today, she got me 5 pieces of bread which looked adorable because they were in layers, one layer of chocolate like thingy and one layer of pastry like bread!!Originally, I had a quite high expectation on it because bread with chocolate are always a good combination. However, here comes the nightmare...When I hold it in my hand, within a few second, my hand tured SUPER OILY,but at that time I thought maybe because the chef put a lot of butter in!! When I tasted it, it was nothing special, a piece of bread with OIL in it and some colouring. NO chocolate taste, really thick layer and a chewy texture that this kind of bread should not have... As last time I did get some really good quality but cheap pricing bread from A1, I suggested my mum to get me another bread this time.:):)My mum got me a piece of cheese bread which looked really nice as the surface of the bread was full of melted cheese and I could see a thick layer of cheese which was really adorable.When I taste it, it was not as good as I thought ... Maybe my expectation was too high!! It only Taste a bit salty with a bit cheesy taste. I know the price was low so A1 could not use high quality cheese but... Sometimes customers like us do expect a bit more... If the chef can use a type of cheese which gives a stronger taste, the bread itself will be much better at least... Sometimes I think the bakery store inside Taste won't provide good quality of bakery, they only produce high quantity bread. In fact i am a bit wrong after today's purchase...I bought a pack of walnut wheat bread today at A1 bakery which is located inside Taste. In the beginning, I was attracted by the word "WALNUT" with no high expectation of its taste. However, it did... gave me a surprise!!With its soft texture, I felt joyful and as there were loads of WALNUT, I believed that it was what we called "you pay for what you get"!! Saw the colourful advert for these POLKA DOT cakes, my first thought was colourful donuts, however on a closer look they were donut shaped cakes with a hole in the middle.I cannot quite correlate why they were advertised as Polka dots because the definition of polka dots is: a pattern consisting of an array of filled circles, generally equally sized and spaced relatively closely in relation to their diameters.Nevertheless I was excited to try them because there were six fun flavours:1)Earl grey and apple 2)Swiss choco rum-raisin 3)Pistachio dark cherry 4)Choco-chip very berry 5)Mango madness 6)Matcha azuki bean I got all of them except for mango and matcha because I hate azuki beans and mango.When I opened them, I was slightly disappointed because they were steamed cakes and not baked.It ruined the taste slightly because the texture of these steamed cakes were too mushy and soggy. If they had been baked, they would have been more fragrant.Although they could have tasted better, I was really pleased that A1 Bakery were adventurous with the flavours they came up with especially with the use of earl grey, rum raisins, and darks cherries for an Asian bakery.Earl grey and apple:The cake was very soggy and sticky and with the moist apple slices it was even more soggy.The apple was pieces of sliced quarters, and in the cake were bits of earl grey.The earl grey and apple flavour was too sweet.Swiss choco rum-raisin:This was quite nice especially with the rum-raisins.Again it was too moist.Choco-chip very berry:Although the strawberry flavouring was a bit fake, the chocolate chips were slightly melted in the cake, which tasted nice together with the cake.The cake itself was light pink.Pistachio dark cherry:This was my favorite out of the four.
