Went on a Saturday to Iwate.Kin for the first time after receiving a flyer the restaurant was distributing on the street the week before. It’s a bit odd that this restaurant has no window despite being on the street level but it’s very clean and tidy inside. The waitress was a Japanese lady, very polite and attentive. The chef at the counter was likely a local HK’er but could understand Japanese it seems.My friend and I ordered a set each. Typical menu, nothing extraordinary. We ordered a whole pond fish to start and that was nicely carved and presented on a slab of ice. Fish was delicious and sweet. The tuna mini bowls set I had was good, my friend said the cod set was also good. Portion size was ok, not huge but for the price we paid I would say it was good value - good food good service good ambience. We had a bottle of sake with our meal and that was decent too.
