The 油條 (long chinese donut) are delicious, especially when made fresh. You can see the guy frying it from the window so if you can time when you buy, get it fresh! The rest of the fried dough pastries are good but not amazing, comparable to stuff you can get anywhere. I ordered the beef congee and unfortunately, the congee is quite bland. It tastes like it was cooked with only water and no chicken broth/bullions were added. I had to add a fair amount of soy sauce to make it taste like anything. I'd come back only to get the donuts as a snack but I wouldn't recommend the congee.On the plus side, it has an english menu on the wall continue reading

在逛街前友人說很想吃粥我想也不想 馬上說我帶他去吃這家粥店簡直是我的中學回憶每逢生病或是想低消費的話都會來吃粥 因為粥又飽肚又便宜雖然有幾年冇吃過, 但店內幾乎是沒有什麼改變我點了一個及第粥和油炸鬼及第粥食評:我最鐘意食呢度既及第,因為呢度又足料,而且份量又會比起連鎖既早餐店大,一吃第一口,以前既感覺番哂黎,幾粒大肉球,一d配料等等,都係同以前一式一樣既,將油炸鬼點入粥入面,再放入口,油炸鬼半淋半脆既口感真係一流,就算食到成手都油淋淋都係值得既! continue reading

自從有一次病左, 覺得食粥舒服啲就改變左我一直對'粥'嘅抗拒感。今日送完家犬入院, 正煩緊食乜早餐嘅時候, 我揀左南龍粥店..全店差不唔多滿坐, 好在我一個人, 容易搵位。一坐低好自然叫左碗 碎牛粥粥底好綿, 而且好甜碎牛份量好足料, 不過精味重左啲而炸米炒仲有少少脆, 可以為碗粥增添口感其實天氣涼左, 除左打邊爐之外都仲有其他低卡路里啲嘅取暖方法, 食碗粥都可以暖一暖個胃 continue reading

路經粥店,見店員在叫賣著新鮮蒸好的巨型裹蒸糉。裹蒸糉之巨,是我前所未見。足足有15cm x 15cm 大的裹蒸糉只售$60,貪小便宜沒多想便買了一隻回家。相隔兩天,取出裹蒸糉,跟家人分享。裹蒸糉太大,足足蒸了45 分鐘才夠熱。打開用荷葉包裹的糉子,看見如糯米雞般啡色的糯米。糯米跟傳統糉子不同,這糉子的糯米與綠豆混合在一起,而非一層糯米,一層綠豆。糯米和綠豆,口感很糊爛,甚至有水稀的感覺。餡料包括有一粒瑤柱、一個咸蛋黃、一片肥豬肉、一片燒肉、一粒冬菇和一粒栗子,每款餡料放在糉子內不同的位置。餡料的味道正常,唯栗子有變壞的味道。糯米跟綠豆的份量太多,調味不夠,淡而無味。餡料又不足以為糯米跟綠豆補給味道。吃了半碗,已經實在吃不下去。 continue reading
