The popular hotspot “Nocino” with branches in Tai Hang, Kwun Tong, and Basehall (Central) is a must-visit for handmade pasta lovers. Their fresh, daily-made pasta is cooked to order, boasting a rich eggy aroma. And now, you can also try their recently trending wave-shaped pasta.

“Nocino” specializes in rare Swiss-Italian fusion cuisine, inspired by the Grotto-style restaurants of Ticino, a Swiss-Italian region. This is all thanks to chef-owner Matthew Ziemski, whose family hails from Ticino. Having worked as a chef in London for years, Matthew moved to Hong Kong in 2019, determined to bring authentic Ticino flavors to the city.
Did you know? Ticino, located in southern Switzerland near the Alps and the Italian border, features a unique landscape ranging from glaciers to chestnut forests, shaping its distinctive cuisine. The Grotto-style dining experience is all about rustic charm—think shared platters of wine, cheese, cured meats, and classic dishes like Polenta (cornmeal porridge), risotto, and fresh handmade pasta.
