A friend brought us here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was not full house even when we left. Interior decoration was of those average Japanese restaurants in HK with nothing special. Food quality was pretty high though. We came in a group of 6 and ordered a few items, mostly cold dishes. The crab roe salad was nothing special.燒雞泡魚乾 was pretty good although I personally preferred more crispy ones. They were pretty chewy and juicy like those beef jerky. They had really rich and fresh fish flavour.Very thinly sliced snapper sashimi so there were no tendons and almost melted in your mouth. Very fresh and rich in fish flavour. There was an accompanying special sauce which seemed to be something with yuzu. Delicious! The sashimi on the platter were all of very thick cut. The best items were the toro of course which really melted in my mouth and were so fresh. The shrimps, although pretty small, were another of the best items which were pretty fresh with not much water. The 赤貝 were very fresh and juicy too, better than many other seemingly better restaurants. Other sashimi were nice and fresh in general too.Can you tell the uni sushi were all covered by so much uni. The uni was of top-notch quality, super fresh and free of weird taste like elsewhere. Seaweed were of course very crispy and fresh too. The salmon roe ones were nothing as special. We finished our meal with fish soup. There were tofu inside. We were told that different types of fish were used as ingredients and they started making it in the morning. It was really so so thick! You can tell by the layer of collagen? on top like those rich soy bean milk. It was really so hard to drink such a good fish soup outside. It was highly recommended. My friend bought us dinner so I didn't know the exact cost of the meal. In terms of food quality, it was definitely pretty good. Location was convenient too with attentive service. Would definitely come back from time to time.…Read More

Decided to check this place out for dinner since it was recommended by a family member...first impression of the restaurant and the decor is good as the seats were nicely spaced between tables. Decided to order the special set for 2 person $620 which includes Crab Salad, Sashimi Platter, a set of sushi, dried fish, fried tempera, and fish soup udon. On top of the set dinner we also ordered salmon hand roll x 2, california hand roll, and a soft shell hand roll. 1) The crab salad was decent as imitation crab was provided along with shredded lettice but there was a generous amount of caviar which blended in quite nicely. 3/5 2) The sashimi platter came with salmon, abalone, tuna, sea snails, and a kind of fish. Not too impressed about the sashimi platter as the tuna was a little mushy/powdery, the salmon didn't have a sea fatty flavor & texture, the abalone was nothing special, and the rest were kind of bland. 2.5/5 3) Tuna Onion Maki came with the 2 person set which tasted not bad as the onion were able to enrich the flavor of the diced tuna placed ontop of the maki. 3.5/54) Dried fish was suprisely good and would recommend it to anyone. My first impression was "what i got myself into, this does not look very good..." but once it entered my mouth it felt like i had to compliment it because it tasted beyond my expectations. The dried fish were sliced into shreds and the texture tasted like eating a soft jerky. The layer is coated with something sweet and the fish flavor tasted mild which mixed very well with the layer of coated flavoring. 4/5 5) Just like any tempera nothing too much to mention other than the material used were defintely higher grade groceries. 3.5/56) The fish soup udon was great as the soup base was definately made with fresh fishes with not much MSG or artificial flavoring which was very sweet and fresh in terms of the taste. The udon were no ordinary udons which are the flat ones possibily made in house. A dish i would recommend trying which i'll rate it 3.5/5 7) Salmon handroll were decent but in a generous amount. 3.5/58) Californai handroll were average and i would recommend sticking with the maki instead of the hand rolls. 3/5 9) Soft shell crab hand roll were decent and luckily the crab were not overly seasoned. 3/5 Overall, its a restaurant i would return sometime in the future but not frequently since there are a lot more choices for the same price paid. The price and the quality of food are very reasonable. Overall, i would rate it 3.5/5  …Read More
