星期六下午和男友忽爾來到九龍灣,想起夜晚餐飯可以食這裡間Ruby Tuesday,就白白痴痴企係Ruby門口打電話入去book位,誰知Full晒,得返walk in機會,無辦法下唯有夜晚再來碰碰運氣。打定輸數諗住無位就去淘大商場搵食的我們,晚上七點幾去到Ruby竟然有位!! 真是又驚又喜!!雖然我食過其他分店好幾次,但每次到最後都飽到抱住個肚,食唔落甜品,所以今次目標係甜品,其他菜式盡量點得少而精。我地叫左兩個appetizer,一個chocolate tallcake,完。哈哈哈哈,真係少得無譜。雞翼拼盤一邊係水牛城,食落似豬肋骨個隻醬,有d辣辣地,好惹味,雞翼都炸得好香;另一邊係烤蜜糖,呢個反而比較遜色,唔夠入味,食第二隻時多手dip埋旁邊的忌廉,出奇地好吃,真是亂搭,那忌廉應該是比人dip西芹,沾滿忌廉的西芹食落清甜,無晒(難聞的)西芹味,不愛食西芹的我也覺得好食。芝士龍蝦通心粉這個比普通pasta還要貴,份量亦很少,但.真係.好好食!推介比喜歡吃芝士的朋友。濃郁芝士汁夾著爽口的龍蝦和細細粒的通粉,食晒都唔溜(亦因為細兜啦)。Chocolate Tallcake上檯時真係好興奮,內心雀躍不已,好似小學生期待秋季旅行咁興奮,終於食到啦~~~先是吸引到殺死人的賣相,繼而是成口雪糕肥cream朱古力蛋糕的滿足感,真係大人細路都會愛上,特別同愛人食甜品,幸福到核爆,哈哈哈哈哈。…Read More

朋友的會員卡將要過期,所以要把握機會特價吃美食。早已訂了位,所以不用等,但所有食物都姍姍來遲,連侍應也不好意思主動說會為我們催促一下。煙肉芝士薯條:必食之選!熱騰騰的薯條夠粗,與溶化了的芝士、一粒粒的煙肉搭配得天衣無縫。超正!雞翼:侍應在我們點菜後問及要不要點雞翼,只是二十元,所以點了一客試試。結果一碟只有三隻,體積偏小,不算便宜;勝在剛炸好,熱呼呼卻不會覺得很油膩,味道好!凱撒沙律:蔬菜新鮮,但調味不夠濃,芝士很少,感覺上只是把一些洗乾淨的菜放在一塊。另外我們選配了蜜汁燒雞,雞肉很乾,有點老,味道淡,吃不出有任何調味。蜆肉意大利幼麵:份量比預期小,只足夠兩個人分。內裏有不少的蜆肉,醬汁微酸,配幼麵很夠味,正!蒜蓉包既脆又香,好!Chocolate Tallcake:每次到Ruby Tuesday除了必吃煙肉芝士薯條外,亦會期待吃Tallcake,可惜常常因為眼闊肚窄而不能再吃甜品,今次總算好好控制了食量,懂得留肚了。原來Tallcake的中文名叫「濃情朱古力」,哈哈雪糕溶化速度極快,還是別花時間拍照,快些放進口中為妙。朱古力慕思、雲哩拿雪糕和最底的朱古力雪糕簡直是絕配,極正!提外話:結賬時侍應派了一張傳單給我們,內容是由6月1日開始,使用會員卡時必須出示身份證明(如身份證、車牌),看來是要杜絕非會員借用朋友的卡來得到優惠。其實餐廳有沒有權要求食客出示身份證明呢?食客是否一定要把身份證交給他們呢?…Read More

是日一家人一起吃晚飯,想了一會也不知吃什麼好。忽然哥哥想起有ruby tuesday的VIP Card,而媽咪又一直未來過,那就決定來這裡吃一頓好了。決定後立即打來訂檯,不過晚上 7 點的已full了,最後只好吃 6:30,而店方亦要求 8:00前將檯歸還。來到店員安排了我們坐梳化位,也頗為舒適。是晚整間餐廳真的很多人,有頗多一家大細來吃飯,而且亦見到有數個慶生飯局,餐廳的氣氛也頓時熱鬧起來。由於要預留肚子吃甜品,所以我們也不敢叫太多食物,不過吃畢還是發覺叫太多了.... 每次來這裡吃晚飯也覺得很有罪惡感,因為每一樣也是致肥的食物呢! 不過誰叫人類那麼愛吃,沒辦法呢!我們叫了一個炸芝士條,另外是日優惠加$15有洋蔥圈,貪吃的哥哥就一併叫了。炸芝士條外表香脆,內裡是可拉成絲的水牛芝士,味道不算很濃但像我就覺得剛剛好,非常不錯。媽咪最欣賞它的蕃茄醬,夠酸而且亦有蕃茄香,可中和芝士條的膩。另外洋蔥圈炸得乾爽不太油膩,不過可惜洋蔥不夠甜呢! 叫了半份Ribs,選擇了蜜糖汁,覺得這個甜甜的最好吃。Ribs的邊位香脆,另外肉質很淋而且很香甜蜜糖味,有肉汁而且不會太乾身,不錯的。另外我們叫了一個shrimp penne,這個又是膩的食物之一。賣相吸引,吃下去則覺得芝士味偏淡,不夠香濃。penne是偏硬身的,蝦算大隻,吃下去鹹鹹的而且也吃到鮮味,不過這個我們吃剩了一點點。最後叫了一個檸檬汁燒三文魚扒,這個算是最不好吃的。三文魚扒煎得乾身,肉質不夠滑,吃下去口感頗粗糙。檸檬汁不夠多,所以味道很淡。側邊的炒飯也不太好吃,又是什麼味道也沒有。吃畢主菜雖然大家已飽飽的,但還是堅持要叫甜品,想了又想最後還是要了Chocolate tallcake。Tallcake來到時,媽咪被它嚇呆了,大概她沒想過會是這麼大杯吧。XD 吃Tallcake個人覺得雪糕加whipped是缺一不可,混在一起才好吃嘛! 蛋糕食落有點乾身,朱古力味不算很濃,偶然會吃到朱古力粒,有朱古力粒的部分就變得好吃多了! 其實這個吃過數次覺得不算特別好吃,不過來到不叫又好像有點不太滿足似的,哈哈! 結果我們 3 人也吃光這個tall cake!!! hkgm1994 呢間其實真係唔錯,係附近好少呢類餐廳,所以假日都會幾多人下 ~ 我上次黎都見到有幾檯係食慶生飯,好熱鬧 !! d 侍應仲好樂意幫佢地影相 ~我覺得飯 & 意粉不算很好吃,強項反而是傳統美式食物如 fries, ribs & 妳介紹既芝士條 ~ 我都有試過名物 tallcake,真係超巨型呀 >.< 我又試過 double choco cake,古古力味都唔算香濃但都幾好食,下次妳可以試下噃 ^^哈哈 !! 我估妳一路食一路想唔食咁多,不過一食就忍唔住食落去 ... 善哉善哉 ><"

10年1月29日(星期五)晚,幾位舊同學想約食飯,但這一頓飯幾乎約了一年(甚至更久)才成局,因為大部份人都有了家庭和小朋友,而且全部都要輪更工作,時間上非常難去遷就。多謝肥哥哥做統籌,終於能夠在這夜可以聚在一起吃晚飯。更難得的是,之前給他遇到失去聯絡多年的“爸爸”,順道邀請他來,令到相隔十五年之後,幾位同學兼朋友能夠在這一晚重聚,開心歡暢地共處了兩個多小時。因為有黑色會員卡的關係,幾乎可以全單半價,所以點菜和飲品方面可以說全無顧慮,眾人都興高采烈地,點一輪食物已足夠十多人吃了,而且各人都點了自己喜愛的飲品喝,感覺很好。Nachos的栗米片夠脆,不過又是那個通病,溶了的芝士冷卻後變成“混凝土”,不便進食;Fried Mozzarella是炸芝士條,炸得金黃,Mozzarella味濃煙韌;Mashed Potato是給幼童吃的,口感幼滑而味道一般;Beef Lasagna的牛肉味被蕃茄醬蓋過了,千層麵軟硬適中;Parmesan Shrimp Pasta的大蝦約有六、七隻,份量不少,芝士汁不夠濃味,長通粉煮得剛好不太腍;Mini Trio有三款不同的迷你漢堡,所以點了兩份,賣相精美,我和女友試了蟹肉漢堡,蟹肉足料而鬆軟,蟹肉味亦濃,相信其他兩款也不錯,很快就吃光;Chicken Quesadilas外層雖然夠脆,但餡料味道不夠,祇屬一般;Ribs with spicy sauce (L)果然是非一般的豬肋骨,幾乎無需用力切開已經骨肉分離,肉味甚濃,雖然Spicy sauce不辣且似barbecue sauce多些,但勝在夠濃夠惹味!食完主餐,跟著的環節當然是甜品時間,不過眾人都大多半飽,所以祇點了四款甜品大家一同分享。Strawberry & Ice Cream滿佈士多啤梨醬和有不少士多啤梨,在雪糕和忌廉下還有厚厚的酥餅,底下的酥餅很鬆化,配以士多啤梨醬來吃,味道不錯;Chocolate Tallcake是大堆頭的大制作,份量多得令人吃不消;Double Chocolate Cake可算這店的招牌甜品,這個甜品有別於心太軟,朱古力蛋糕呈“凹”形狀,濃濃的朱古力漿就藏在凹位內,把蛋糕切開卻有心太軟異曲同功的效果,內裡的朱古力漿味道較蛋糕濃,但混合來吃就非常美味;Ice-Cream Sundae的下層有不同口味的雪糕,上面加上極多的忌廉和一塊Oreo的曲奇,賣相和味道都同樣令人歡喜。服務方面,負責我們檯的waitress服務勤快,而且眼見所有侍應都很努力地服務客人,奈何人客多而侍應少,有時未能即時回應客人也是情有可原的。訂檯時講明要九點鐘交檯,但過了九點仍沒有人催我們交檯,不過時間不早了,各位小孩也要回家休息,我們約九時半左右就離開了。在此特別鳴謝食友素素豬,謝謝妳!…Read More

突然記起當年第一次寫食評也是因為在這店間店海港城分店跟朋友食飯慶祝生日有不快經歷才下定決心寫,不經不覺己過了五年了.至於今次點解去食,就是因為某雜誌所送的半價咭,既然有半價又不用買會藉,便跟家人一起吃一頓吧!Fruit Iced Tea$48,這個果茶有幾種味道,最後我點了荔枝味的.至於味道嘛!荔枝味絕對唔突出,還很甜很甜,很不好味道Ruby Mints &Salad$140,因為想食沙律又見到這個餐不用加錢便可以吃到,當然食這個啦!沙律自己出去畢的,有菜,青瓜西瓜菠蘿和桃,三款意粉等等...總之只有一次畢的機會.至於味道真是很一般.麵包有分雞和牛,可以2個雞或2個牜,或1雞1牛.我們就選了1牛1雞.麵包烘過微暖又脆口.牛肉幾厚只是無乜味道和太乾了.雞沒有份吃不作評論,伴碟的薯條用上粗的,新鮮炸起熱辣辣好好味,跟咖汁一起果真是好伙伴R Mixed Chicken Wings$88,一碟有10隻雞翼,選了原味和酸辣各5隻.酸辣對於我來說實在太辣了,加上不喜歡這種嗆味醬汁的味道,所以只草草吃了1隻,反倒唔辣的雞翼煎得香口,我比較喜歡這個Prom.New Orleans$208,飯是用上意大利米,偏硬是預計之中,只是少吃西餐的媽媽便不太懂欣賞了.最好味是魚沒有腥味肉質也嫩滑Parmesan Shrimp Pasta$192,這個通粉略嫌唔多夠汁和焗的蝦太乾,浪費了咁靚的大蝦Rib-eye$248,肉眼扒一向偏淋,這塊扒也好淋,只是完沒有肉味,質數還差過在超市買的,唯一要讚的是點了7成,煎得沒有過熟,牛還有血水流出,證明廚司控制火路不俗,最好味是那個薯蓉,熱熱辣辣又夠薯味,當然那塊超脆蒜蓉包也好好味道.BYO Ribs Platter$258,由於點了全份關係,可以選2款汁,一款燒汁,一款蜜糖芥辣,ribs好軟淋,配蜜糖芥辣味道更理想.(如果唔夠醬汁可以問店員取)Straw.PUff pPastry$86,這個甜品是用上大量無味的士多啤利和勁少的士多啤利醬製成,下層就是勁脆酥皮,只是酥皮本身無味,一定要夾著雪糕和士多啤吃才有味道,最讚就是雲尼拿雪糕好香雲尼拿味,又夠滑,正呀Chocolate Tallcake$96,由於本人一向不太偏好朱古力味,所以沒有太大興趣.不過,都要讚下這個朱古力唔會話勁甜,配雪糕和忌廉食好夾.總結:食物質素平平,又唔會話好難食,好好食又稱唔上,好難食又唔係,總之沒有甚麼食物會令人留下深刻印像,如果食物收取原價的話就不是很抵,現在半價可以接受環境:因為有梳化位坐,也幾舒服服務:負責我附近服務範圍的simon好好人,經常也會了解我們的需要,不錯.多謝他熱情的招呼.還有一樣要讚雖然訂位時己講明由7時至8點半是進食時間,最後我們8時45分離開中途也沒有催促我們原價1412(注意:半價的咭在收加一時是跟原價的),半價後847元.5個人每人不用200元也算抵食.…Read More

上星期四同幾位朋友去食我自己本身唔係第一次食, 不過上次有人請, 冇睇價錢, 今次一打開個餐排, 比佢個價錢嚇左一跳,不過好彩, 我地三人行, 其中一位有VIP card, 咁都冇咁肉赤...講返食物, 我地total食左五樣野...煙肉芝士薯條 (芝士味好濃, 但略嫌薯條唔夠脆, 薯條好淋...)海鮮闊麵 (五樣之中最差, 啲闊麵stick埋一舊, 而且味道好淡, 可能食左啲濃味既野先掛...)BBQ味Ribs (啲肉有啲乾, 但BBQ味好正, 不過如果下次再食, 我唔會再叫lu...)超級漢堡 (味道照舊好正, 塊牛肉好juicy, 不過個包好似有啲縮左水喎...)Chocolate Tallcake (超正!!!個杯比想像中大好多, 個cake好重朱古力味, 而且份量仲好多添)叫甜品既時候發現左樣野, 原來有啲服務員係外籍人士,唔識聽中文, 大家突然支吾以對, 搞到好鑑介....最後埋單434.4....總結: 好食係好食, 不過折左都好貴, 唔會成日食囉~~…Read More

去年因為信用卡有6折優惠,連去兩次露比,今年又再接再厲,探完露大脾的米芝蓮BB後,大家再次轉去露比食個痛快。相信是有折扣優惠的吸引,星期二的晚上全店滿坐,而且還有時間限制,要限定時間內交枱。自助沙律-又是我大顯身手的時間,貪心的我當然又是拎到滿滿的。焗薯皮-薯肉差不多被刮清,懷疑將薯肉用來做薯條基本上只有車打芝士及煙肉,而煙肉分佈不平均,又不夠芝士香。每當食焗薯皮時又好懷念Shooter。煙肉芝士薯條-是近年人氣的小食,這個車打芝士實在太少了,幸而附有sour cream補救。 豬肋骨-全份的豬肋骨,一邊是香辣味,另一邊是蜜糖汁。當然是香辣汁那邊較為吸引,雖然只是微辣,已足以令肋骨增添惹味。而蜜糖醬就平平無奇。蜆肉扁麵-一大碟意粉與蜆肉像黐在一齊,單看賣相毫不吸引,入口後方知茄味香濃,每啖也蜆肉存在,唯不足的是意粉稍為腍身。其實大家也很飽,意粉食剩不少,但再飽也要食甜品。客觀來說露比的甜品只是一般,比不起我中午的過的PE。Chocolate tallcake-差不多每枱也必食的甜品。我們走了cream的tallcake,似乎少了點睇頭,後侮沒有另加多球雪糕,只有基本的兩球雪糕實在不夠伴這個又大又濃朱古力蛋糕,因為雲呢拿雪糕與朱古力蛋糕產生的化學作用,會令人食不停口的。Brownie sundae-這個brownie與tallcake的有著相似的質地,雖沒有果仁襯托,只有鬆軟的蛋糕與雪糕,也令我一口接一口。遲些再攻銅鑼灣分店,就可以分別出那一間分店水準最好。…Read More

The 20 of us -- blended crowd with the old and new, fared well in a fulfilling meal in Ngau Tau Kok. The dinner was great, but when the crowd subsided disappearing into the night, the 20 of us were yearning for more. The sweet smell of desserts came to our senses. In a flash we arrived at the entrance of Ruby Tuesday, where fellow dessert lovers sworn never to return since they surrendered in previous instances under the glory of the legendary tallcake. While some may be deemed to fail with the lack of sweet-tooth and determination, or the courage to look past the calculating calorie-reminder in their minds, one must admit that Ruby Tuesday's desserts are nothing more than piled up army-style "the bigger the better" servings that when it minimizes back to normal sized version, are nothing more than ordinary. There are, however, several reminders for prospective diners.1. Never go in groups. 1-4 (ideal in booths), 5-10 (2 round tables), 11-15 (3 round adjacent tables), anything beyond 15 is beyond manageable, unless you count room for standing.2. Stick with desserts that have been blessed with the oven (baked), sundaes are not particularly impressive, only if you like whipped cream a lot (and a lot of it)3. Opt for chocolate, ditch the berries or berry-flavored anything. My personal experience of strawberry syrup took me back with some painful childhood memories of cough syrups and bad Halloween candies.I did not just make up these rules, here's my analysis.Double Chocolate Cake ($76) presented itself like a Molten Chocolate Cake, except it has gone mutated in a perfect round shape with an opening on the top, where the chocolate lava was supposed to slowly oozes out. It didn't, in fact when we spoon into the cake, the lava didn't move one bit. The texture was a moist pudding with great chocolate taste. The dark chocolate stands out without the cloying sweetness after. The molten part, you will have better elsewhere.Blondie ($76) was made the same way brownie does, except without chocolate in the batter, instead the chocolate takes form in chunks together with nuts, to offer multiple layers of textures. The blondie itself lends the browness from moist brown sugar. The darker the brown sugar, the deeper the caramel taste it is. This one is alright, and the nuts were wonderfully toasted. It will certainly benefit with ice cream.Chocolate Tallcake ($96) -- Try to picture it. 3 layers of Devil's Food Cake (dense and moist chocolate cake), each about 2-3 inches thick, with chocolate mousse as filling. Top that with squirts of whipped cream, and go a la mode. Put this entire thing in a smaller-sized English Trifle Bowl, and an overdose of chocolate syrup squiggles. The dessert represented the typical generosity of American dining, where size really matters. The cake layers had moist crumbs and the mousse wasn't particularly sweet at all. The whipped cream has gone overboard, oh, and did I mention vanilla icecream too? The icecream oozed into the chocolate cake as each spoonful of this would be chocolate overdose. No wonder so many have surrendered under it.Brownie Sundae ($76) -- Favorite of the evening, as simplicity spoke for itself. Dense square of chocolate brownies so fudgy that a spoon could almost stand in the middle without tilting. One bite of it (with icecream) could take you straight to chocolate heavn. As we cooed over how wonderful it tasted, I realized we have slowly pushed the tallcake away and gathered around this plated dessert instead. The hot-cold contrast may be overplayed in many desserts, but brownies + icecream should, and will never go out of style.Strawberry and Icecream ($56) -- Something you can pull off on a lazy night at home. The fanned out strawberries around vanilla icecream was nothing surprising. The berries weren't very ripe to begin with, and that, no matter how good the ice cream is, couldn't save an otherwise sloppy attempt to impress.Strawberry Tallcake ($96) -- The 3 layers of cake were now plain sponge cake which looked dried-up, with a pink mousse that's supposedly strawberry flavored. The syrup was the manufactured kind and strawberries were in small bits. Now this is when strawberry and whipped cream can exist in the same dish and fail to impress fans of either ingredient. Not advisable unless you like your cake crumbly and not very whipped whipped cream.Ice cream sundae ($56 each) -- Dutch chocolate is a safe bet, with chopped up chocolate bits blending through, almost like a chunky frosty shake. Tropical Mango will not bring your senses to the tropics unless you count the egg yolk golden hue in the icecream's colour. Then there is the whipped cream again.Having shared all the desserts with a group of 20, we've had the best and worst on the dessert menu, literally the entire dessert menu. (some of them had nachos and artichoke dip) Chocolate was embraced, and others frowned upon. Conversation flowed across the long table as we called it a night and were ready for the next gathering. We exchanged phone numbers, and candidly took pictures of each other and with each other...Now how's this to round up a wonderful night out?…Read More
