One of the most hyped and anticipated fights of the century, McGregor vs. Mayweather features the best of both boxing and MMA worlds. The first two weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor will be making his boxing debut, with the eyes of the entire sporting world fixed on 'The Notorious' to see if he can shock the world and beat the 49-0 Mayweather. The Dog House lives up to its name, with the exterior and interior shaped like one. Along the sides of the bar are several TVs showing multiple viewpoints - the back wall will feature a large screen of the main fight. With a total of eight screens inside this bar, everyone will have a great view. The Dog House serves classic Western style food, including buffalo wings, burgers, nachos, steak sandwiches and cheesy potato skins. Of course, they also have an extensive drinks menu with several types of beers and cocktails. The current promotion for this fight is priced at HK$350 which include an all day breakfast and a drink. For those that find the travel to Hong Kong Island a little too far, King’s Belly in Tai Po will also be showing the big fight! Starting from 9:00am on Sunday August 27th, guests can begin piling into this classic European bar for an entry fee of HK$350. Apart from being able to watch the fight, the HK$350 set also includes one Full Monty Vodka Cocktail and one San Miguel Draught (or soft drink). King’s Belly is styled after the bars in United Kingdom, serving English classics like fish and chips, chip butty (chip sandwich), steak and kidney pie. With multiple screens available to enjoy the fight paired with good food and drinks, King’s Belly is the place to go around the Tai Po area.
An Irish pub in Hong Kong, McSorley’s Ale House is offering the fight for a price of HK$350 (with no service charge) at both their Soho and Discovery Bay locations. Doors open at 8:30am and with the entry fee, guests can get a free Mayweather burger or McGregor all-day breakfast paired with a standard drink. For those that would like to indulge in more food, they have a standard Western menu featuring sandwiches, oven-baked pies and an Indian menu with curries and tandoori oven specialties. Due to the limited seating available, bookings are recommended, so call quick to reserve a spot to witness the most anticipated fight of the century live.
Rúla Búla is situated right at the heart of Lan Kwai Fong and is designed after warehouse type bars, giving it a trendy and vibrant atmosphere. For the fight coming up this weekend, Rúla Búla is hosting a package with an entry fee of $400. While this may seem like a steep price, the package includes 3 hours of open bar between 11am-2pm and comes with a complimentary breakfast. Their breakfast menu is likely to be a combination of Western and Mexican flavors as their regular menu includes dishes like calamari rings, tacos, burritos, ribs and mini burgers. Entry into the bar begins at 10:30am and no reservations are available, guests will be seated on a first come first serve basis. As a result, if you want to partake in Rúla Búla’s offerings, you’ll have to get there early.
An Italian restaurant that specializes in serving home-style Italian recipes, Grappa’s Cellar is offering a HK$280 deal to watch the fight along with a breakfast buffet and a free beer. All of their food is prepared using only the most natural ingredients with everything produced exclusively in their kitchen. The restaurant is divided into two levels with the bar and some seating upstairs overlooking the lower level. All the tables are decorated with their signature red table clothes and a large projector screen is displayed at the center of the restaurant. Guests should make reservations and can begin entering the restaurant from 9:00am onwards to enjoy the buffet while watching the prelims before the big fight begins.
