The omelet rice in Japan is one of the many I miss everytime, having tried many 'alternatives' here is finally one I would recommend, it's the top rated but the taste and texture is compatible with the standard one.

It's been a long time since I wrote foodie's comment, but this little Japanese 洋食's style restaurant has inspired me to write again. The place is run by Japanese with a lady chef. I think they use local ingredients, that's why the taste is not authentic enough, but it has captured the solunof omelet rice, soft, melty with the aroma of egg, yet, the tomato sauce was too veggie taste and the rice is not chewy enough, I would it was a bit too moist, a slight twist on these would be appreciated.

Worth a they, will come again

The rest does live up to its name, located right next to the pool, it stills enjoys the relaxing summer breeze in the evening especially with yellow lighting.

Much better to have a table near outside, besides the menu's choices, there are daily specials which are explained in details and patiently by the staff.

For fish & chips, they offered several ways of cooking, having the fried one all the times, we especially ordered the grilled ones.

Crab cakes
First came the appetizers, the entire piece was blended with crab meats, veggie, bits of pawns, and herbs, served with a bottle of self-made tartar sauce, it's heavenly! cripsy and juicy with the lemon squeeze.

Grilled baramundi and chips
Instead of salmon, we had baramundi, after several trials, we found most places serving baramundi which are of average standard, including marriot's, which are bit hard when cooked. Only the real high-end rest. like one in Sydney serving real baramundi could cook to its tenderness.

Maybe the other types of fish would be a better choice, will try next time =)

working nearby before was part of my happy memory and this store is still my beloved place. Even though am now working across the harbour, still can't resist the temptation of coming here for an early morning breakfast.

Got my favourite, milk tea which is made from own mixing blend, with thick toast spreak with peanut butter and condensed milk,though nothing special, again with reference to my previous entry, simply the staff and serving attitude would make you endless visit here.

The noodle used was 'fok mian', cooked to the right degree with the juicy tender satay flavoured beef, the ham omelet was generous, with juicy egg sauce streaming out when sliced. The milk tea was nice too, with blend of tea aroma retained

Another delicacies, here served the cookie-crusted, cripsy and slightly sweetened egg filling, nice too.

金寶越南牛肉粉
The set was served with a bunch of green lemon, veggie, herb you could add to the bowl of noodles, the beef was soft but not tender enough, the noodle was average but the soup was exceptionally good, definitely not MSG-loaded, and it's blended nicely with the herbs, a surprising treat at food court which may not expect something with standard.

Another traditional HK-styled cafe in town, the best of this kind is they has their own bakery and the a blend of tea itself.

Got my early morning breakfast once, ordered

The soup was lightly flavored, the macaroni was the usual type, but the roasted pork slices was quite nice, bit fatty though, but without the fatty bits, it would be too dry to taste. The omelet was cooked to the right degree that the juice retained when cut.

Not sure if it's best in town, but can't deny its choco, esp the dark ones are exceptionally outstanding.

For choco drink, I do prefer a hot one, an all time favourite throughout the year, yet the unbearable hot summer does need a cold drink to cool down & refresh a bit, the ice dark chock from Godiva was no disappointment, even regular amount of cream was added, it retains its bitterness of dark choco with the right sweetness, love it!

It's rare to have such a dessert shop serving new styled dessert in the area, though I flavour more the conventional ones, the hugh ice cone does worth a try especially in the simmering hot weather.

木糠布甸
disappointingly though, not smooth enough, like simple pudding instead, not recommended. The best one ever tried was the one in Macau still.

宇治金時
One of the signatures, it's BIG, so plseas invite more friends to share with or its melting speed would way exceed your tasting speed. The ice was rightly flavoured with green tea without giving the bitter taste, and it went nicely with the big red beans, the ice-cream was a delight too, triangle shaped with bits of red beans in between, adding a chewy texture. Won't give you 'TINGTING' when tasted, but a good alternative to the conventional desserts.

The staff was friendly and though you may wait for seats because of the crowds, still they will serve you right away once you are seated. Worth a try

Scottish English bar at Soho, another hot spot for expats or students' union from Great Britain. Serving fish & chips, pudding of various kinds over the huge-sized menu, soccer games playing on the over hanging plasma, people having glasses of beers cheering, you can totally immerse yourself in such a weekend-like relaxing atmosphere all the time.

Held in a thick crush pastry with lots and lots of beefs cubes in the middle, it could fill one's stomach in a minute, the taste didn't offer any surprise, maybe with a smaller portion and tint of herb, one would then greatly appreciate the dish with just the right amount

Got the custard-filled one, it's another version of crepes or japanese cakes, but this one used was the crispy waffle-liked crust with a fish look, me personally don't quite like the texture of such, yet the filling was satisfying, heard its new promotion was choco with banana, which texture always blends, may try next time.
