It was our 3 year anniversary, so my girlfriend decided to choose something special and memorable. We decided to dine in at a Japanese restaurant because of all the decent reviews on openrice. When we sat down, the manager briefly explained the menu to us and suggested us to try the Australian and Japanese Waygu beef. We did ended up ordering two sets of beef combos along with a kimchi pancake.

First came the beef, if I am not mistaken it was the Australian beef. This Australian beef taste very good and it was juicy. This beef is not like ordinary beef that you can find at supermarkets. It has a soft and juicy texture to the beef and it actually has some beef taste to it. Along with the sauce and lettuce provided, it created a unique flavour to the beef. The next dish was the Japanese Waygu, beef tongue, and pork loin. This dish was quite memorable as I have never tried beef tongue in my life before. It turned out better than I expected and the Japanese waygu was delicious like seriously it was freaking delicious. The texture was very soft, and the juice was able to maintain within the beef after cooking. Also, the pan was amazing because the meat never got stuck on the pan when I was cooking it and there was no burnt smell on the beef after cooking. Overall, both the Australian and Japanese Waygu were amazing and it wasn't like any of the beef you would eat at a normal restaurant. They had a distinct taste and texture to the meat and what I loved about it was how juicy it was after cooking. This was a great place to celebrate my 3 year anniversary with my girlfriend. With this quality of food, I will definitely come back on special occasions...maybe Christmas??  Anyhow, for all you beef lover out there, this is a must try place with all the different type of Waygu; trust me you won't be disappointed at all.

I have heard some very positive feedback on this restaurant from my co-workers, so I decided to bring my mom to this place on mother’s day. I had very high hopes for this restaurant when I booked it for mother’s day and oh boy it did not disappoint me at all.
Let’s talk about the food I ordered 
Appetizers:The appetizers had 4 different kinds which all taste very unique. The one that stood out the most was the one with Osmanthus sauce with green beans. The other ones were mushrooms, crab meat, and bamboo sprouts.
The next dish was Foie gras:I believe this was duck liver? This tasted quite decent and the texture was amazing. The chef managed to make the liver outside very crunchy, while keeping the inside very soft.
Next was the King’s Prawn:I don’t know how, but everything on the plate can be eaten (except the plate). The chef was very patient with pan frying the head and tail of the prawn. The head and tail of the prawn turned out to be very crunchy and the texture of the meat was very firm. The sauce on the side made the prawn even better.
The next one was the beef:The chef was very professional with this dish when he asked us how we want our beef done. He gave us his suggestion on what he believes taste the best, while giving us other options. The beef alone wasn’t anything special, but with the sauce that came along with this dish, I thought it made the beef very tasty and juicy.
The last one I am going to talk about is the FRIED RICE :Oh boy, I would say this is the one of the best dish on the mother’s day menu. This dish might look very plain and simple, but it that will change your mind when you actually taste this. I really do not know how to explain, but there is a like a fresh taste to the rice. This fried rice is a must try if you ever plan to dine here.
The last one on the menu….deserts:This desert was some kind of a pudding which wasn’t anything special. Nothing really special about this, but it just looks very nice (in fact I thought it was coffee at first). My mom thought it taste good, but I thought it was ok; maybe cause I don’t like deserts that much) .
If you are looking for great services with great food, then this is a must try restaurant. Their services no doubt is excellent, their waitress always kept our plate clean and never left our cup of tea empty. The chef that served us was very professional, he was very considerate throughout the meal. Overall, my mom was very happy that we dined in this restaurant on mother’s day and suggested me to bring her here again on special occasions .

Today I ended up in Tsuen Wan and my friend decided to dine at this restaurant again. Its been a year since I dined in this restaurant.😂 This time I ordered the chicken wings, mash potato for appetizers and the black squid spaghetti with prawn for the main course.😜 The services so far kept up to par. When our appetizers came, the lady serving us told us to be careful because the plate is still hot. The appetizers wasn’t anything special as they taste decent. When my main course came, the lady serving our food reminded us again to be careful about the plate. The dish I ordered was very attracting as there were many different kinds of vegetables to make the dish very colorful.😄 There was also a big prawn on top of the spaghetti which wasn’t anything special, but it made the dish look very nice. As for the spaghetti, it taste quite decent and the texture was perfect as it wasn’t too soft or too hard. Overall, this is not a bad place to dine at for its price. I find the service to be decent and the food in general was not bad at all. Would definitely come back again!!😉😉

A few days ago, my friend overheard me craving for some sushi. She suggested me to go find her at Kowloon City after work and she would bring me to go eat sushi. After work my friend brought me to this place around 7 pm and luckily we didn't have to wait to be seated. The atmosphere inside was fairly good and the service there was quite welcoming as almost every employee greeted us as we walked in .

Since this place was a All-you-can-eat, my friend and I ordered quite a lot of food to try. The food didn't take too long to come. There wasn't anything spectacular with most of them as they all taste fairly decent. However, the one that I enjoyed the most was the (fried or grilled??) pineapple . It was very tasty and juicy, even though it looks a bit dried in the picture. The sushi we ordered were average, but there were only two types (grilled cheese salmon and grilled spicy tuna) of sushi that stood out to me. They had a very unique taste that I haven't tried before.

We also ordered some sashimi (salmon, tuna, and etc...) and udon to fill ourselves up. They weren't the best tasting udon, but what do you expect from a all-you-can-eat place where almost everything is pre-made. There were a lot of different variety of Japanese food such as hotpot, grilled food, and stuff. However, there were too little selections for the sushi part.

Overall, it was a decent place for Japanese All-you-can-eat . It is definitley worth a try, if you don't mind the small selection on sushi.

Just back in HK!! I miss eating crab in Chinese style! My frd knew me too well...she brought me here right after I landed. We chose the Signature dish of crab, it comes in vegetable soup. This is really special, and they even have the shell taken off. The taste of the meat is remarkable, without the shell, it feels so good to eat the crab meat in one big mouthful, it's totally irresistable!Then comes the vegetables, they taste sweet and fresh.
Time for some rice, they made the rice inside a pigeon, can't imagine how they did that!! It's so magical! They taste beyond good.Finally comes the Authentic fried hot crab of Hee Kee! They have so many fried garlic that we can smell the dish coming from distance! It smells so good!!! But this time, I have to destroy the shell myself...the part that i hate.... but when I can enjoy the crab meat inside....I felt that the hard effort is worthy. The meat felt like ....heaven...it's just so wonderful...Besides the fantastic food, they have a large beautiful fish tank filled with beautiful fishes which bring better decorations effect to the whole place.

We went meeting a friend in Tsuen Wan on this casual Saturday evening so we looked for food around the area. After walking a while we came to the entrance of this restaurant. The food looked decent on the menu so we decided to give it a try.

We ordered 2 dinner sets for sharing. A Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon and a pan-fried U.S.A. Grade Beef in Philadelphia Style with black truffle sauce.I expected ordinary lettuce for the veg in the salad but surprisingly it turned out that they used crispy romaine lettuce and some french greens. It was sweet, crispy and fresh. The salmon was up to standard too, its texture was moist and smooth, they also added some parmesan cheese on top which made the dish even more flavorful as well it gave the dish a nutty flavor to it.The beef dish did not disappoint us too. It was done just about right and wasn't chewy at all. The centre of it still remained pink and juicy, which was actually quite rare to find such quality at a loval restaurant like 1969. This particular dish was being paired with a truffle sauce which gave this dish an extra kick to it; which i think was a really good choice they've made becuase it definately made the dish taste even more appetizing without feeling too meaty or bland after several bites.

Overall, this meal didn't fail to surprise me and i do think that the quality of food they serve here is well worth the price, i would strongly recommend this place to my friends

Paid Sai Kung a visit just for their seafood feast!
We decided to step foot Sing Kee restaurant for dinner tonight, and we ordered some of the most famous seafood dishes they have. The following are a selection of my favorite dishes from the night.Lobster Yi Mien: the lobster meat was sweet and juicy; the texture was chewy and not tough at all. The Yi Mien noodles and the thick sauce was a nice complement to the seafood, not overwhelming the taste of the lobster. The meat of the lobster came off the shell very easily it made it easier to eat with.Abalone: Amazing dish! The abalone sauce was rich and thick, the abalone itself was soft and chewy. I could’ve finished a bowl of rice myself just by mixing the sauce with it. It was broiled to perfection. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night.Steamed Crabs: The star of this dish would definitely be the gooey crab roe, they were oozing out of its shell and it tasted very creamy but not filling at all. The crab meat was so fresh and juicy, I ate two all by myself!Overall Rating: 5/5, great dinner with great company! The best part of having seafood in Sai Kung is that you can be the one who picks out the live seafood outside the restaurant and they would prepare it and serve it to you immediately (this guarantees each and every single seafood dish you eat will be extremely fresh)!

I’d say this is one of the best tonkatsu places I’ve tried before, everything they serve here are fresh and served hot!
I and my friend ordered half a dozen of oysters as our appetizers, it was crisp and fresh and it is seasonal so you should better ask the waiters for more information of what oysters they carry in store.
We also ordered a soft shell crab dish to share.
Soft Shell Crab- Crispy on the outside, soft and meaty on the inside with some melted crab roe in the center. Be careful when you bite because the juice in it would splatter everywhere and it is actually quite hot.Oyster and Shrimp Tonkatsu Set (unlimited rice and shredded veggies)-I ordered this set for myself, and obviously I should’ve just shared it with my friend because the portion was too big! Tastes wise, the deep fried oysters were fresh and creamy, and the shrimp Tonkatsu was crisp and chewy. I believe they used really fresh seafood here, and the Tonkatsu batter was just amazing. It wasn’t too oily and there were unlimited rice and veggies for us to eat it with, giving us the best Tonkatsu don experience ever.Overall Rating: 5/5 Fried to perfection!

The interior of the restaurant was renovated as one of those traditional Japanese stores where people go to for a glass of sake and some snacks. The atmosphere was cozy and the lighting was dim.

Chef’s Assorted Sushi Platter- The fish selection was pretty decent; every piece was fresh and sweet especially for the sweet shrimp sushi and the uni sushi. The meat and rice ratio was proportional.The famous avocado eel egg roll-This dish is known to be one of the most famous dishes at this restaurant thus it’s impossible to miss out. Truth be told, I already fell in love with this on my first bite! It was just simply amazing, the egg wrap was soft, which complemented well with the crunchy fish roe and the creamy avocado. The eel itself was the main character of the dish, it was prepared until it is soft and smooth in texture and feels like it has no bones at all. Everything matched so well together.Crabmeat Avocado Roll-The avocado on top looked and tasted fresh, the crabmeat in between was juicy but light. Avocadoes and crabs always make a great combination!The famous tamagoyaki with cheese- Another famous dish of The Mon, though I’d say that the avocado eel egg roll was way better than this tamagoyaki dish. This dish had the eggy flavor of it and was paired well when eaten with a bit of the white radish on the side. The cheese inside was still melting when it was served but I think that the flavor of it could be richer.Overall Rating: 4/5, most of the points went to the Avocado eel egg roll!

Came here for a birthday celebration, and it did not fail to surprise my palette once again…
I ordered a Porterhouse to share between two, the meat was tender and the surface was grilled until it has those charcoal grill lines and charcoal flavor without overcooking the center. When I cut a piece, the juice kept running out, the insides of the steak was tender and had a pinkish glow. If anyone is looking for two different meat textures all at once, porterhouse may be a good choice.We then ordered Lobsters, Lamb chops, and Onion rings to share, the lobsters were just boiled without having any seasoning. It was supposed to be dipped in melted butter so that we could taste the fresh juiciness of the lobster meat. The meat texture was a bit chewy but not so tough that we could swallow it easily. The lamb chops were grilled with some herbs; it smelt good and tasted even better, yummy!
I especially loved the onion rings here at Chris Steakhouse because this is one of the many places that serve humungous onion rings with a very light and fluffy batter coating. I just couldn’t stop munching on these deep fried babies~For dessert we had a New York Cheesecake & a Caramel Banana tart to share.
The NY cheesecake was just amazing, I just had to make the “in love” face expression every time I took a bite of it, the cream cheese filling was very rich and thick and it was very smooth and creamy. The biscuit base was so buttery and crunchy that it gave the cream cheese the texture it needed. One of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had in my life! Would definitely come back for more.The Caramel Banana tart on the other hand tasted very fruity and nutty, the center was some sort of banana flavored custard and it went well with the outer biscuit based shell. The slices of bananas on top were caramelized and plated like flower petals. Two thumbs up for its taste and for its presentation.Overall rating: 4.5/5 Good quality with good quantity. Every buck was worth its price!
