Quite a few years ago I had badminton mates that sometimes met in Pei Ho Street Municipal Services Building for badminton games. Kwan Kee was introduced to me by one of them. This time I went to the neighbourhood to shop for a selfie stick. It took some time before I could locate this traditional dessert store. We bought a piece of red bean pudding and a piece of water chestnut pudding. The price had nearly doubled and the portion was smaller than before. We put them into the fridge and ate them the next day. The water chestnut pudding texture was very nice and spongy, but the water chestnut pieces were way too few. I enjoyed the red bean pudding, which was saturated with red beans that gave out unique fragrance and flavor. There was also a thin top coating which tasted quite hard upon refrigerating. I still like the red bean pudding. For water chestnut pudding, better try to make it at home to get the expected wholesome taste with sufficient water chestnut bits.
