I had a dinner date with some friends in Tsim Sha Tsui, but since I was sick that day I suggested looking for somewhere indoors to eat. Ugh can’t stand the busy crowd on the streets sometimes T_TI saw an advertisement by Nishiki Don for discounts on certain donburis so we decided to check it out. It’s located in i-Square on the 7th floor. The restaurant was empty when we got there. I saw an advertisement by Nishiki Don for discounts on certain donburis so we decided to check it out. It’s located in i-Square on the 7th floor. The restaurant was empty when we got there. I love early dinners!
After staring at the menu for 10 minutes I decided to order their 黑鮪三崎丼, which I think has Blackfin tuna, Blackfin negitoro and Ikura. It came with a miso soup and a chawanmushi @ $165/set.
-Again, average miso soup. Nothing memorable about it.-The chawanmushi was disappointing. There was only a thin slice of mushroom inside and the egg was bland and watery.
-The tuna sashimi was average, and tasted a little bit metallic
-The negitoro only had a few pieces of green onion in it. The toro was alright, and could be fattier
-The ikura was quite fresh but did taste a little bit fishy
As you can see this place isn’t that cheap. For the same price range, I would suggest going to Doraya instead.
